  • turning the evil bastards into celebrities

  • George Bush and the Economy Ression are are wonderful for the free world . With the destruction of America and the Jews the world will be a better place. Amen Let us hope that the financial proplems of America continues for a long time .

  • The Media is bad, but Communist media is worse. Look at Xinjhua.

  • Not so much even 'the media', but the Corporate Media.

Why is it ok for corporations to have so much say in what you know about the world?

Media moguls (Rupert Murdoch, Gordon Black, Ted Turner, J. Randolph Hearst back in the day) were bad enough, but why do Sumner Redstone and Bill Gates have to have a say?

Concentration in a few hands was also helped by deregulation, one of the mainstays of Neoliberal economic theory (along with Privatisation and corporate Free Markets).

  • So true. Great video.

  • coming from russia today...LOL.

  • Sarah Palin looks hot in a leather skirt. Google "Sarah Palin in leather skirt". Now, that is good news.

  • government controled media may be very biased, but so is commercial media like CNN and FOX. our big news stations in america are driven by profit. you max profit by maxing out ratings. how do you increase ratings? tell the truth? tell whats important? those are all relative...

in america they will talk for days and days about how a duke university student raped a striper while most americans have no idea how many genocides, wars, famines and natural disasters there are in the world.

  • Two things drive most media in the world: money and ideology. I don't expect to get any more accurate, full-picture news from one than the other.

"Accurate, unbiased" media is whatever media confirms the biases of the person watching. Hence neocons believe Fox is "Fair and Balanced" and the left in the US believes the same of NPR or, say, The Nation.

The problem is people have become too tribal; belief trumps objectivity, and everything has become us vs. them.

  • Thanks for telling us everything we already know. Do you really think that Americans who are watching RT or other foreign news outlets don't already know this?

  • How you can speak for all? This your big error that all think as you. I talked to many Americans, for example they the majority trust official version 9/11, they trust that Russia has attacked Georgia and it is the Russian-Georgian war...

  • Do you live in the U.S.? I would know who's brainwashed and who's not. I'm a Ron Pal supporter. Over the years I've developed a keen eye for spotting bullshit and for spotting the gullible. I can tell who is a drone and who isn't and you don't seem to be one. Granted there are a few drones that watch RT, for the most part most of the Americans that watch RT watch it because they are aware that our media is dust and shadows.

  • I did not notice that at RT many viewings in comparison with CNN, FOX...

  • What?

  • I mean RT not popular

  • Everyone claims to be the enlightened individual in a crowd of gullible fools (sheep, sheeple, etc.). Everyone mixes up and drinks their own kool-aid.

I think the best chance anyone has is to read/listen to a wide range of media, including and especially international media. Only through diverse media sources is anyone going to get anywhere close to understanding the big picture.

  • I know. That's what I do. I watch all kinds of news. This isn't the only news outlet I watch.

  • I'm sure the US Government Intelligence knows exactly what is going on all over the world... NOT!

  • I'm a voice that has been pursecuted in all ways....

  • So true!

  • Is the Media this awful in UK or in Canada? I have a hard time accepting that possibility that all of the free countries are just sunk into mass idiocy forever.

  • Well the UK has the BBC and Canada has CBC. Whatever problems there may be with each of these, at minimum they are "alternatively funded," whereas the US doesn't have any equivalent (PBS is out there but it is not a major "primetime" player like BBC and CBC).

It may well be that the BBC and CBC have issues (I can't say), but their funding is not corporate the way American media is corporate.

  • Its a damn shame we have to watch Russian News to get some kinda of fair reporting.

  • America has become an international joke. It is about as democratic as a communist country is.

Look at the clowns they have put up as if they were Presidential. Sarah, John McCain, Bush.

I hope Obama is going to be a real president, and not a fashion model.

  • "I hope Obama is going to be a real president"

That HOPE has already been dashed.

  • i pray for us all.....

and as an athiest, that's saying something

    islam is evil

obama will make or break america......

    starting to think,the later

  • ....And it is acceptable in Russia to kill journalists who are trying to get to the truth......

  • the media talks mostly about itself, either to condemn, correct, congratulate, or brag abouy itself. very lame. talking about media, pro or con, is lame. we know propaganda when we hear it, even distractionary propaganda, even this report is lame. Doc AC

  • America gets squat when it comes to truth but while thousands of people are killed at the mexican border, the only thing the news can talk about is american idol..Now tell me something isnt wrong with that....not to mention the thousands killed in the war!

  • How much of this is the fault of American media, and how much of this is the fault of American people who choose to watch stupidity like American Idol?

It's an interesting question. There's a great line in a song by The Jam which goes, "The public wants what the public gets." Media-wise, most Americans will only choose from the limited choices of what's on the menu in front of them, rather than demand something different.

  • Yousee I knew it, Russia Today FTW.

  • Media Control = NWO, we are like flies in a giant spiders web, we all have to break free before we are brain washed to the max

  • You're right the american media is very corrupt, but one of the big reason that they are collapsing is because of the internet.

  • wow they really picked a moron to represent america

any person with sence sees what russia is doing

  • u mean sense?

  • This is sooooo true. These days, all media are controlled in some way for corporate america or the government. People need to wake up, we are literally being condition and control mentally and we don't even know it.

  • Coming from RT, I think this is a compliment to American media!

  • The truth, it hurts!

  • islam is evil

  • and you're evil

  • This guy is WRONG about the tea parties. The tea parties blame Bush just as much as Obama, the numbers wouldn't get so huge if so many people were not upset about the bailouts. THe theme of the tea parties was the excessive spending, $7 trillion in the last 3 months. The reason why people think it's a neocon thing si because independant republicans threw a few of them.

The tea parties were much more diverse than the media ever gave it credit for.

  • The US has access to all the news of the world online.

Most americans get their news online now and there is so much news and opinion online, there is simply no way for someone to read it all on a daily basis.

The US is drowning in news and opinion availability.

There is no rigged Google search engine in the US as in China.

The US is a free country and has access to all the news of the world.

  • that is not what the point of the video is, the american news are brainwashing the american people: CNN, Fox News ect

examples: The Georgian Conflict, Iraq, Pirates, Organ trafficking,

propaganda towards a certain political group, the medea is not liberal but controlled by political groups...

  • Armed groups?

Yep, those are the Ron Paul kooks.

They're the black helicopter conspiracy theory, police state-delusion bunker mentality militia movement kooks, just like the MIAC Report says.

  • Who is this doofus?

If RT really wants to interview a US media critic, then interview Brent Bozell.

Brent Bozell is the most respected media critic in the US.

  • what is wrong with this guy, is he telling too much painful truth?

  • Funny, America, & China are the most hated country in the world but they are the most powerful nations in the world. They are liers, murderers, and criminals aswell. But yet, no one can stop them.

  • Speak out. People hate their governments, they realise they are being dictatored too and that they can't function like this. We are suffering an alien-hi-jacking.People must fight with their consciousness to bring the change they desire, and the ability to control themselves.

  • Good job Russia Today.

Russian TV is killing CNN, NBC, and FOX.

    "If economy collapses, Obama collapses"

    :)

  • Russian Tv is government owned genius.

  • TheAntiV HAHAHA You stupid American, Channel Russia Today became the first Russian member of Association of the international telecasting — the independent noncommercial organisation created for effective interaction between leading international speakers and professional associations.

  • Russia Today TV is sponsored by the state owned Russian news agency RIA-Novosti, retard. RT is a "cheerleader" of the Kremlin, applying positive spin to reports about governmental institutions and refraining from criticizing Prime Minister and former Russian president Vladimir Putin or the government.

I also find ti quite hypocritical how you accuse the United States of being criminal. You might want to look into the history of Russia's foreign policy.

  • TheAntiV Is better speak about facts, how many countries bombed by USA, lies about terrorists, destroyed whole peace cities to show to the world American power.

  • A lot less than Russia had, that's for sure. I know its hard for you to accept that since its hard for you to determine the truth when the media is government owned but you need to understand the Putin has fooled you.

  • You do not know own history?)) Russia was at war only near own borders and in own territory. The USA was at war worldwide: China, Korea, Guatemala, Indonesia, Cuba, Belgian Congo, Dominican republic, Peru, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Lebanon, Grenada, Libya, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Iran, Panama, Iraq, Kuwait, Somalia, Croatia, Bosnia, Sudan, Afganistan, Yugoslavia, Ossetia ... About hair cut, thanks ))

  • Most of those countries you've listed were being invaded and influenced by Communist Russia. When the Soviets invaded Afghanistan was that in Russia's border? Or when you invaded Georgia? Don't be such a hypocrite. BTW, I was being sarcastic about the hair cut.

  • Most of those countries ? lol, No. Afghanistan at Soviet border. What about Georgia? They have killed Russian citizens and Russian peacemakers, we on the lawful bases have destroyed Georgian-American army and had the right to occupy all Georgia, but we have not made it and Russian 58th army has back home.

  • They have killed Russian peacemakers? Is that what the Russian media and Putin has told you? Georgia was dealing with rebels and Russia used that excuse to influence and invade the region. The Russian government also lied about the amount of deaths.

  • According to South Ossetian and Russian officials identities and circumstances of death of 365 victims were collected. During the conflict, number of deceased victims was initially claimed to be much higher, at 1,492 civilians. These numbers were disputed by Human Rights Watch, Memorial and the Georgian side. When interviewed by Memorial, Ossetian residents revealed that most of the killed were the representatives of armed resistance.

  • It matters not if Afghanistan was at the border. The truth is the Soviets invaded it.

  • BTW, nice skin head hair cut.

  • It's all considered a success, not a problem

    You are hated

  • American news reporting is definitely flawed, but that is the fault of the suits in control. And to suggest that, due to a lack of reporting, Americans live in an information vacuum is absurd. In the information age, no one needs television networks, print or radio to get their news. Just an Internet connection. So if the majority of informed Americans are getting their news from Internet news services from around the world, like BBC, Deutche Welle, AP, Reuters, etc., where is the shortfall?

  • I hate to break it to you,but not everyone has,or has access to a computer,or even knows how to use one if they did.

  • In America, yes. Everyone, even illegal immigrants, can get access to a computer with Internet access. It's called a library, located in every town in the USA. Even the minority who you speak of, are just that - the minority. Many have Internet access and news updates on their phones. It's a modern world people. At least in America.

  • I know more people without computers,or even know how to use one, then people who do.I don't know how old you are,but a large majority of the population wouldn't even know how to turn on a computer, none the less use one. Not everyone has money or experience with computers. Just because they may have access, doesn't mean they would know how to use one.Young people and middle aged people are the majority when it comes to computer knowledge. And not everyone has cell phones either.

  • What part of the country are you from? This large majority you speak of would fall into the age group of the "technically illiterate" 65-and-over group (this portion of the pop. is not the majority). If they are younger, then they owe it to themselves to find the motivation to learn how to use a computer. Libraries, job centers and other places offer free courses on this subject. There is no reason why these people remain Internet-deprived.

  • East coast. Again, you are assuming. The large majority I speak of is not seniors,it's ordinary hard working people who don't have the time,or the means.Owe it to themselves? Seriously,I wish it was as cut and dry as you make it out to be. Can't judge people til you walk a mile in their shoes. To assume that everyone wants to use a computer is pretty presumptuous as well. The majority of the population, including people with internet access, still depend on MSM for their news, unfortunately.

  • True. Ignorance is bliss for many, but not me.

  • And,to add to that,it's a modern world for people with money. People who spend the majority of their time working, living paycheck to paycheck, usually can't afford computers, cell phones, internet access. Those are luxuries, not necessities. Just to use myself as an example,I've been online 3yrs,before that,I was too busy trying to survive to worry about computers. I hadn't touched one in 20yrs,and a lot changes in 20yrs. Don't assume everyone is as lucky as you.

  • I use facts, not hype.

    as per Nielsen Ratings:

    UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

    US - Population: 304,228,257

    222,723,436 Internet users as of Dec/08, 73.2% penetration, Nielsen//NR.

  • And to add to that, you're also assuming that even if they did get online, that they would know where to look for the reliable news sources. Most people even online still use the MSM websites for their information. Only people that are 'awake', know where to look .

  • The average household income in America is $40,000,that doesn't go too far these days, and A LOT of people don't even make that much. And you are also forgetting pride. A lot of people are to proud to ask for help,or how to use a computer, and that's if you can get someone to teach you for free. And that's if you have time between juggling a job,a family and a household. To assume everyone knows how,or even can,is very presumptuous. And you are also forgetting seniors.

  • Simple The AmUrican TV is made for:

    " Brainwashing "

    :))

  • Yes the media is a strong force to stir up the people. The American media is controlled by the Shadow Gov. so the American news reporters will only tell what they are allowed to tell. What happened to Dan Rather?

  • Have you ever noticed all those drug ads on the American television, good heavens they try to make you believe you are ill. Then listen to all the side effects from those drugs, in time you will be from the drugs it seems!

  • American people are not being informed, much too much is hidden.

  • NWO owns it wake up people

  • I'm american and I love my country, but I have to agree. A lot of people I know get their information online like me. If we even get to hear about something we only get one side of the story. It's like that everywhere else too, not just the United States. It's FAR worse in many other countries. It's just another problem we have to work on. That's why we have such a great country. We recognise our problems and we fix them.

  • i am also American but as a country we fail in fixing our own problems dude we are a 3rd world country and no one recognizes to see this our country is a joke

  • USA is far from being a 3rd world country.

Its more industrialized, has higher standards of living than any other nation in the world.

  • Not a higher standard of living than Norway, Denmark, Sweden or Canada. Those nations have more of an egalitarian system in their societies.

  • Finance by the rest of the world, that is coming to an end.

  • America is bad enough for being in their own little world- but it's not just them. Most countries are like that. Some European counties are marginally better because they are up to date with each other. (e.g. France hears about Sweden) but they don't know anything past NATO.

  • don't blame us for having to watch that shit...I'm German moved there and and all i thought was WTF? 60 seconds around the world?

  • says the nazi....and yes...60 seconds around the world...because 63 seconds would be WAY to much... XD

  • Excellent interview. This guy talk straightforward.
