Well the UK has the BBC and Canada has CBC. Whatever problems there may be with each of these, at minimum they are "alternatively funded," whereas the US doesn't have any equivalent (PBS is out there but it is not a major "primetime" player like BBC and CBC).
It may well be that the BBC and CBC have issues (I can't say), but their funding is not corporate the way American media is corporate.

I'm american and I love my country, but I have to agree. A lot of people I know get their information online like me. If we even get to hear about something we only get one side of the story. It's like that everywhere else too, not just the United States. It's FAR worse in many other countries. It's just another problem we have to work on. That's why we have such a great country. We recognise our problems and we fix them.

East coast. Again,you are assuming. The large majority I speak of is not seniors,it's ordinary hard working people who don't have the time,or the means.Owe it to themselves? Seriously,I wish it was as cut and dry as you make it out to be. Can't judge people til you walk a mile in their shoes. To assume that everyone wants to use a computer is pretty presumptuous as well. The majority of the population,including people with internet access,still depend on MSM for their news,unfortunately.

And,to add to that,it's a modern world for people with money. People who spend the majority of their time working,living paycheck to paycheck,usually can't afford computers,cell phones,internet access. Those are luxuries,not necessities. Just to use myself as an example,I've been online 3yrs,before that,I was too busy trying to survive to worry about computers. I hadn't touched one in 20yrs,and a lot changes in 20yrs. Don't assume everyone is as lucky as you.

And to add to that,you're also assuming that even if they did get online,that they would know where to look for the reliable news sources.Most people even online still use the MSM websites for their information. Only people that are 'awake', know where to look .

The average household income in America is $40,000,that doesn't go too far these days,and A LOT of people don't even make that much.And you are also forgetting pride. A lot of people are to proud to ask for help,or how to use a computer,and that's if you can get someone to teach you for free.And that's if you have time between juggling a job,a family and a household. To assume everyone knows how,or even can,is very presumptuous. And you are also forgetting seniors.

I'm american and I love my country, but I have to agree. A lot of people I know get their information online like me. If we even get to hear about something we only get one side of the story. It's like that everywhere else too, not just the United States. It's FAR worse in many other countries. It's just another problem we have to work on. That's why we have such a great country. We recognise our problems and we fix them.

America is bad enough for being in their own little world- but it's not just them. Most countries are like that. Some European counties are marginally better because they are up to date with each other. (e.g. France hears about Sweden) but they don't know anything past NATO.
