Hi Mark - What is the point of getting acurate white balance and colors, if you adjust them (warm them up, or cool them) according to your taste, in the end?
Started using this a couple weeks ago after watching and it's making a big difference in post. A little cumbersome having to restart LR afterwards but it saves a lot of time. Recommendation for replacement is two years as the colors will fade. Maybe sooner if you use it outdoors a lot
Question: Whats the expiration time for the colors on the ColorChecker? UV light will shift the calibrated colors a little over time. Anyone have any advice on that?
Buy a calibrator for monitor, calibrate it. Buy Colorchecker passport and calibrate your camera. Buy a calibrator for your printer, calibrate it. For each of them create a profile.
Be sure you create a profile for each illuminant in which you will shoot, work and view your prints.
Also, be sure your printer and your monitor are good enough, because calibration doesnt make your equipment better, just take them to a standard.
@peckerdecker Lets say we are both using Apple monitors to make it easier. While they are both the same type, you understand they are going to be different. When we both calibrate our monitors we both use the same color profile 'AdobeRGB 1998'. Thus the calibration device and software will create a profile that should make our colors the same on different monitors. Same with the printer/paper. You can create a profile for a printer and send it to me anywhere on earth and I can work with it.

Hi mark, thanks a lot for this video. Can you explain hot to calibrate calibrate the entire digitial workflow, from monitor to printer?

what about printing the images? and getting the same colours onto paper as on the screen
how will that photo look on another computer monitor? (computer screens aren't calibrated) so one image will look different on another screen?
best wishes

@peckerdecker Calibrate the printer for the paper used.
Calibrate the monitors.
That's the only way to get accurate color.

@GhostofRazors hi, how would you physically calibrate a client computer screen or any ones? i am in London your in Yankee land.
how will you physically calibrate your screen to mine?
how would you calibrate an industrial printer to your home monitor screen?
it would be nice if what you said was practically and physically possible.
best wishes
