how would you be able to build this... i have been trying to find sources on how to do it but i was not successful... any idea on how i might be able to find the instructions?
This should be fairly easy to build, you just need two donut magnets, one in the order of 3.5 times larger than the smaller one, fit a spindle on the smaller one that ends in a smooth rounded base, on the other end, you may want to put the larger magnet in a plastic box to protect the smaller one from smashing into it and breaking, in the video I state somewhere that only a ceramic magnet (neodymium magnet) will work because magnets which conduct electricity cause electrons
to flow and the resistance in the metal dampens these 'eddy currents' and would dissipate the top's rotational energy, causing it to slow down and eventually fall. Therefore the ceramic magnet spinning top is an insulator, so the eddy currents cannot flow. The edit was filmed in 1996, further experimentation a few years later revealed that I was even able to spin a neodymium magnet sphere, spun by just connecting a DC power supply in a homopolar motor configuration
which levitates extremely well, I will do a future Method 9 B showing this. The real mastery of this method is to learn through trial and error how to balance the spinning magnet correctly, this takes lots of practice, I tried this when I was a kid in the 80s and could not achieve a balance point of levitation, it was only when I heard that others had achieved this that I kept on trying and eventually mastered it. Practice makes perfect.
Hi fungusamogus,Thanks for your interest, I will have a web page in the near future, and have purchased and registered a domain which will have details of many of the old experiments and many more new ones that will be posted in the near future. The website will hopefully be up and running by the end of this year. Good Luck with your experiments, and if you fail try, and try again. Cheers JRI
It turns out that attractive forces are as much at play as repulsive forces in making this work. Both poles of the base magnet and the top magnet play a role in the levitation. Obviously the repulsive forces play a more significant role but the attractive forces are equally necessary for stabilizing the levitation.
Thanks for your comment iLevitation, but in my opinion based on experience and experimentation, Im sorry that I would have to disagree, the attractive force is only part and parcel of its presence in a magnet, if you could obtain a magnet with no attractive force and only repelling force were prevalent the device would still work, as a gyroscope only requires spin and a pivot to operate, refer to Method 13 GYROSCOPIC MECHANICAL /ELECTROMECHANICAL Group IV,
in fact the only effect the attractive force has is that it works against the effect and is the usual reason why a magnet cannot be levitated unless some form of mechanical or electrical constraint is used for stability, refer to Earnshaws theorem. Because of the way the forces depend on distance, the north-north repulsion dominates in the example shown, and the top is magnetically repelled. It levitates where this upward repulsion balances the downward force of gravity,
that is, at the point of equilibrium where the total force is zero, which nett force wise is exactly what happens in a gyroscope the total force is also zero at the pivot point, the magnetic field of the base gives a torque tending to turn its axis of spin. If the top were not spinning, this magnetic torque would turn it over and the force from the base would be attractive -
that is, in the same direction as gravity - and the top would fall, proving that the attractive force is counterproductive to the effect. Although it may intuitively appear that the attractive force would also attract uniformly from all sides keeping it centralised the attractive force is not balanced as it rotates close to a vertical position, if it were a pure vertical position which gyroscopically cannot be then what you say could be true.
When the top is spinning, the torque acts gyroscopically and the axis does not overturn but rotates about the nearly vertical direction of the magnetic field. This rotation is called precession and so responds dynamically to the field from the bases north north repulsion. Kind Regards John

So here are at least 10 methods showing toys that are not pushed up by a magnet, and remember tomorrows technology starts with todays toys. Thanks for your interest and your comments.
And in this week I will post "Antigravity" Method 11 of 15, Electrodynamic Suspension (EDS)-Induced currents/Eddy currents-Relative Motion between conductors and magnets (Lenzs law) Group IIIBi
And in the following weeks I will post:-
"Antigravity" Method 12 of 15, Electrodynamic Suspension (EDS)-Induced currents/Eddy currents- Oscillating electromagnetic Fields-AC electromagnetic & Pulse Group IIID ii
"Antigravity" Method 4 of 15, Tornado Ion Vortex, Group IC
"Antigravity" response to Method 6 & 9 by popular demand, how to levitate on earth's magnetic field. (not sure if it counts if you consider the earth a pushing magnet
As for showing you something that is not pushed up by a magnet please refer to "Antigravity" method 1a of 15, Geometric Electrostatic, Group IA, and to "Antigravity" method 1b of 15, Geometric Electrostatic- H2O dipole, Group IA,
"Antigravity" method 2a of 15, Ion Asymmetric Electrostatic, Group IB(i),

"Antigravity" Method 3a of 15, Vacuum Polarization- (Biefield Brown effect), Group IB(ii)
The definition of gravity is a force manifested by acceleration toward each other of two free material particles or bodies or of radiant energy quanta so the antithesis of gravity or antigravity is a force manifested by acceleration away from two free material particles or bodies .....notice they use the term bodies which could be magnetic or electric or anything else for that matter.)
According to the current definition of antigravity, previously given, Merriam Wester Dictionary gives the following description please look it up yourself,
1 Physics. the antithesis of gravity; a hypothetical force by which a body of positive mass would repel a body of negative mass.
Benjamin Franklin observes the first balloon ascension in 1783 Of course, people who watched the sight were amazed beyond description; however, as often happens with great discoveries, some sceptics loudly expressed their contempt for the invention. Someone asks "What possible use are balloons?" Franklin answers "What use is a newborn baby?"
Michael Faraday one of the most outstanding scientists of the 19th century is visited by a delegation of government dignitaries. They are shown his electric motors and other demos. One person says "This is all very interesting, but of what possible use are these toys?" Faraday responds: "I cannot say what use they may be, but I can confidently predict that one day you will be able to tax them."
Notice also that in all the titles the word antigravity is in quotation marks which are also used to indicate that the writer realizes that a word is not being used in its current commonly-accepted sense.
In addition to conveying a neutral attitude and to call attention to a neologism or a slang or special terminology (also known as jargon), quoting can also indicate words or phrases that are descriptive but unusual, colloquial, folksy, startling, humorous, or metaphoric:
Any other interpretation of antigravity is a misconception by the user of the word, so you will have to forgive yourself of your own invalid interpretation, as I didnt intend to offend.
According to the current definition, Anti-gravity is the idea of creating a place or object that is free from the force of gravity. It does not refer to countering the gravitational force by an opposing force of a different nature, as a helium balloon does; instead, anti-gravity requires that the fundamental causes of the force of gravity be made either not present or not applicable to the place or object through some kind of technological intervention.
A UFO, LOL, Im not sure if I know what the best one is, as science is not so exacting only the future will tell. Some of the more interesting ones in my opinion is the tornado effect refer Antigravity method 3b of 15 but using either mercury or another metallic liquid within an enclosed tornado column, that is heated and recirculated, achieving a net force in one direction, I will post a full description and video when I get my web page up.
Another interesting one can be achieved by using the Earth's magnetic field which can be calculated by applying the Lorentz equation which exerts a sideways force on electrons moving through a wire. The magnitude of the magnetic field deflecting force can then be used to calculate the length of wire, number of turns and wire diameter, I will give you a video response during my editing of Antigravity the reality that was filmed in 1996 where I talk about this possibility in the near future,
, another interesting one is covered in Antigravity method 3a and 3 B Vacuum Polarization, but the ultimate in my mind will be one that incorporates a combination of the types presented utilizing every known method to the greatest efficiency which is what I am currently researching and is the reason for my precise classification of all the known methods to date.
Does this mean the liquids force/energy are all forced spiralling down and inward into a cetral point. Have ponered in some mech liquid and plazma gas gyro conceps and in most cases comes back to a central point of all energy sometimes a ring instead. Look forward to full description mentioned as alway looking to learn more on this one.
hey MeX2004 i hope you realize that the term zero gravity makes no sense, a more correct way is saying that the object no longer feels the force due to gravity, secondly there are objects in our universe that are massless, and therefore do not interact with the gravitron (the carier particle of gravity) the neutrino if your interested,
Hi MeX2004, you seem to agree with my statement below zero Gravity ....is not technically accurate, so I therefore agree with your statement, the term zero gravity makes no sense.
As for objects in the universe that have no mass, I also agree with you and add that this is also covered by Einsteins celebrated formula E=mc2 and from the special theory of relativity that mass and energy are both but different manifestations of the same thing. Thanks for your comment.
The terms zero gravity or reduced gravity are used to mean weightlessness as it is experienced by orbiting spacecraft, but this is not technically accurate. Spacecraft are held in orbit by the gravity of the planet which they are orbiting. The sensation of weightlessness experienced by astronauts is not the result of there being zero gravitational acceleration, but of there being zero difference between the acceleration of the spacecraft and the acceleration of the astronaut.

ufos fly and dont sit spining on spindles they levitate antigravity this video is just a toy

this is not anti gravity.
Lifting something is not special. You just create an upwards force which BALANCES gravity.
Antigravity is all about reducing the force gravity itself exerts on an object.
