That's OK.. I know what we do agree on we both enjoy our Motorsport. I think Grandstand showing F1 was only a brief period (now my memory is fuzzy on that) I know by 1980's. F1 had its own prog. simply called 'Grand Prix' with theme tune 'The chain' by Fleetwood Mac. its the instrumental part at the end of the song (what BBC play now but without their added zoom, whoosh, and engine sound effects). Prog. getting longer over the years as popularity increased. Once when Mansell was big they had-
I can't describe just how much Rosenthal irritated me on Itv F1. Poxy professional commontaters no knowledge or real interest. Does anyone remember the race where it emerged later a marshal had died after 'joke vileturd' crash Rosentwat waved his pass at the sceen stating 'as it says on the tin motorsport can be danegrous Nuff Said' at the end credits, what a complete Scum CUNT. Itv were a disgrace with their approach to F1.
@1schummif Disgrace? If it weren't for ITV's revolutionary coverage, we wouldn't have the brilliant coverage the BBC provide today with build up interviews and analysis. I take it you'd prefer the pre-ITV/1997 days where qualifying was never televised and the race coverage was joined during the formation lap? Get off that bandwagon and actually think about what you write.
@HokkaidoTruant I do think about what I write so my so called bandwagon is not a problem to me. Being a bit older my memory goes back to when I remember BBC showing build up, interviews, and the full race. What we see now is a natural progression I believe we would have anyway if the bbc had continued all along. The 'revolution' from itv was advert break during racing, miss vital live action, start late/ finish early when that SHIT kick n kiss game was scheduled anywhere near it.
@HokkaidoTruant Also they could'nt wait until the contract expired because they had bought more, 'overpaid wankers kicking about', to fit into the schedule. The only good thing ITV have done is provide extensive coverage of BTCC & support races for ITV4 on sunday. as this was an area not covered by others.(but be under no illusion more channels have to fill with something at the right price) As for Rosentwat his behaviour is fact, so no disagreement there I trust?.
@1schummif I think I took issue with your Rosenthal comment more, probably why I was a little harsh with the bandwagon comment. As for him, actually I never used to mind him. Sparse F1 knowledge but its fine to have someone like him mediate the more knowledgeable pundits. We seem to have different memories regarding bbc coverage. I was only 5/6 in 96 so memory is a little fuzzy but I seem to recall F1 being part of the grandstand coverage with very little build up. Fair points tho' on BTCC tho'
@HokkaidoTruant -live quali. on the saturday of British GP. last time it was held at Brands Hatch. After that they had occasional special quali. on sat'day. The last pressure BBC faced were complaints about ''waste of licence fee'' buying F1 shedule (something else to make my blood boil ) The new danger Newscorp, Murdoch Etc., hugh wallet, steal F1. then only on pay per view-even more pressure to promote as entertainment ''The Show'' corrupt and degrade F1 into high speed soap opera.
If Louise Goodman comes back to F1 I will have to put up with the torturous flirting between her and Jenson Button. When Jim Rosenthal left and Steve Ryder appeared that's when ITV's coverage really hit the shitter.
@KieranF1Kimi She's younger but her personality is really offensive. I don't like how she just says "Just tell us what happened" it should be a tattoo on her forehead she says it so much.
@KieranF1Kimi Lee has put on weight around her hips. So thunderthighs doesn't get my vote. Louise was sexier because she was cheekier and naughtier. Just look at what David Coulthard said to Louise one time, she liked that. ;)
@londongamer Depends what you prefer. I like the 'ol thunderthighs sometimes. She isn't exactly fat though, and I like that Scottish accent, so that's what makes me prefer her :P
@tmfox Ah ok, its just that I'm 17 and became an F1 fanatic really in 06, so I didn't really get to see any of Jim's coverage at the time, although he is a good presenter. Saw some coverage in 2005 and pre 05 and actually as far as I can remember they did a bit more with the programme than what they did from 2006-2008. Still I thought ITV overall did a good job of the coverage.
First video were i saw Jordan with a proper shirt. I'm sure all of this video was arrandged, not possibly natural

Louise goodman is the best! I want her to be back, the new girl Lee mckenzie isn´t good, BBC should get rid of her and Jonathan Legard.

Eddie is going to be one of the pundits for the BBC from for the 2009 season, so he should keep the coverage entertaining

Not entertaining at all. I hate him so much.. He needs to go.
