  • Thanks so much for sharing! I have a family of 6 and I often find that I am totally overwhelmed by the task of doing laundry for the whole family on top of my other daily chores. This is a great way to lighten the load! I will be using this with my kids. Thanks again!!

  • I LOVE this video! Thumbs up, Mocha Mom!

  • The loc sock looks great, and thanks for the tips.

  • I have my son and daughter sort the clothes into 3 loads, the white, colors, and the dark that really helps since I go to the laundry mat.

  • @flydivastyles I'm glad you shared that because you have to start somewhere. my kids were about 3 and 4 when the story I shared about my mother occurred. I started them on matching socks, sorting and folding their clothes. We worked together on putting them away. As they get older and more mature they can do more until they can handle it themselves. My mom took us to the laundromat sometimes. We loved stuffing the machines and putting the coins in.

  • Oh the stories I could tell about beach....LOL

  • @aleialaw Aaaaaah bleach! I STILL mess up my clothes sometimes so I try to wear an apron or something I don't care about. I can never figure out how the bleach got on me. I hate it when this happens to something expensive.

  • I actually do have 2...I just saw them the other weekend at the expo here.

  • Loc Soc very cute!

  • @napzfaya Do you have any? I've seen some patterns that would really work with your style AND they have a ridiculous amount of solid color options. I got through to one of their people through the customer service number on their page and she had such a nice vibe.

  • Thank you for sharing these pearls with us. I did ALL the family laundry today, but my almost 6-year old daughter helped, bringing her land her sister's laundry for me to put in the machine. She has put her clothes in the machine and measured out the detergent by herself before. Maybe I should make it a weekend chore. She's big enough. Currently she has to clean her school shoes on the weekend (they wear white sneakers - don't know whose bright idea that was LOL). Thanks again. Blessings!

  • @AfroTee 6 years old is a great age to start! Capitalize on those precious moments with your daughter.

  • Love the loc sock and the hairstyle! Fabulous! Looks like the sock could prolong my twists beyond just 1 day by hiding those fuzzies we talked about. Hmmmm.

My sons do their laundry and it really does make a difference in keeping up with the volume of laundry that a large family can generate. Great topic, great tip.

  • @DrDawnMarie The lock sock would work really well with twists. It's also light weight and stretchy like the material of tights. It would also work well with a puff. It's like a super wide head band that holds it's shape really well when you scrunch it up tight. You can also double it over. It's better than a headband though because it gives you completely coverage and can be wrap over your entire head like a scarf. They are cheap too. I spent $12 plus $3 shipping. Buy 2 still ship- $3.

  • i agree with you and your mom. if my mom had not made me do laundry, i would not know how to do it properly. i just wish she would have explained to me why she was doing it because half the time i hated it. great vid fam!

  • @wagechi29 Back in the day you just did what your mom told you and she usually didn't give much explanation. Good thing you obeyed!

  • Great vid! Love the loc soc! Where did you get it?

  • @positiveenergee I got it from their website. I put the link in the information box. I ordered two more and will definitely be getting even more. I have a big head and the band is not tight around my head at all. I ordered a dreadsock to sleep in (excellent quality BUT I have a big head)--- I can't wear it because it's so tight. I've been sleeping in my lock sock. Working out in my lock sock. Styling it up with my lock sock. Chillin' in my lock sock. Lovely patterns. I truly love it.

  • @CherishMyDaughter Update on the dread sock. I stretched my dread sock by putting it around the rim of a lamp shade overnight (with light off of course). It was still a little to tight but MUCH better than when it first arrived. Since wearing the lock soc so much the dread sock doesn't feel tight anymore. I now wear my dread sock at night and my lock sock for styling purposes. I now own 4 of them.

  • Amen to your Mother for that good wisdom. I am glad by the time we got to #2 we figured out the laundry thing. They pretty much got it down now and the older two are now teaching the toddler. I love the teamwork.

  • Great video and tips (excellent advice from your mom too). Thanks for posting this.

  • I love these homemaker tip videos.
