  • I just say this for the first time you have grown alot in your vids since this one and was so waiting to see the "Don't run on automatic, Think." at the end I am guessing that came later well it was a very good begining vid you have come a long way :)

  • @Apocal7964 Thanks...and yeah, this was years ago; I don't think I came up with "Don't Run on Automatic" until, like, last year.

    Thanks for watching! :)

  • After seeing many....MANY of your videos (including this one). Have you or would you ever do a rant on neopagan, parody, or new religious movements?

  • @Justinfh2point0 Unlikely unless I run out of material or they start making nuisances of themselves the way the bigger-name religions do.

  • Who needs She/He/It/They {THIS} to bless, when we, ourselves, are fully capable of blessing?

    {-;

  • @shackupyourstruly But without magical powers, what is "bless" beyond saying something is nifty? ;)

  • It's a nifty way of saying please, like, "You bless us with your videos, @BionicDance."

  • @shackupyourstruly I thought that, in that context, "bless" meant, "make our lives better to some degree"...

  • That is possible, too. "You bless us with your presence."

  • @shackupyourstruly Ah, okay, good...for a minute there I thought I'd COMPLETELY lost my sense of what "bless" meant in a non-religious context. Heh. :)

  • I've looked at love from both sides now. "... that a g:d exists but refuses to reveal himself, instead demanding that we believe in him without, or even against, the evidence..." It constantly reveals itself, subtly. Nonbelievers just have other names for the items in evidence, like nature, physics, cosmos, or universe. In religious school, we used to kid about day following night on days 1-3. G:d *could* have done it forever, but decided to delegate authority to stars starting on day 4.

  • @marasu66 What reason do you have to even SUSPECT such natural occurrences are anything but what they appear? What makes you think there is a god behind them at all?

If you cannot show evidence--testable evidence we can experiment upon--that there is more there than what appears, I'm afraid all you're doing is engaging in fantasy, in wishful thinking. You're going to have to do better than that if you ever want to convince a rational thinker that a deity exists.

  • I don't. I was reconciling, trying to use unfalsifiable terms, like "just calling it something else".

  • @marasu66 Um...okay.

Clarify for me: which side are you taking right now?

  • "I've looked at love from both sides now."

  • @marasu66 Uh-huh...and you're ON which?

  • On caffeine, actually.

  • I'm wired/weird that way. *<]:-)X

  • On the outro I realized that the shot of the station from the outside is inconsistent with the view you show out of its window. If the station is spinning to produce artificial gravity, then its orientation relative to the planet in the background is such that the planet would only be visible from the inside through a transparent floor. And, at the rate the station is spinning, the planet would be in and out of view within a few seconds.

The actual CONTENT of the video is excellent, though XD

  • False dichotomy.

  • That is exactly how i feel, you just said everything that i couldnt because i didnt know how to word it, thankyou.

  • @SatansPetGoose Comments like this make it all worth it. Thanks for watching! :)

  • Classic Bionic Dance Animation. I have been a fan of your Kanira Baxter comic book for a long time. thank you for the video

  • that was great, how did you get the mouth to move so well with the words

  • @Trbitt213 I use the Morpher modifier; I've been animating for YEARS.

  • How do you make these?

  • @KorruptedDragon982 3D Studio MAX and a metric fuck-ton of patience. :)

    Thanks for watching! :)

  • @BionicDance Next question: How much fuck is in a ton? lol

  • @BionicDance A metric fuck-ton is about 10% bigger than a short fuck-ton, yes?

  • It seems like you could have achieved the same effect without using an avatar. Good animation though.

  • so how come you don't do these anymore?

  • @doaftheloaf Because they're a metric fuck-ton of work, for very little return.

  • @BionicDance kinda thought that might be it, but figured i'd ask.

  • Perfectly stated at the end : can't people see this bullshit for what it is? And why is anything about god even a question? In the year 700, in Europe, there were primitive tribesmen who were afraid of the dark, afraid of disease and death, of the phases of the moon,of sex even, of crop failure. They lived in huts and were constantly at war. They invented spirits, demons, ghosts, and deities to understand their lives. Haven't we developed into something better yet?

  • She must have 100 teeth!!

  • Being mad at God and hoping that he doesn't exist is not going to get rid of your inner pain & confusion. You sound like a very beautiful person, inside and outside. May you find true happiness in your life.

  • @RudeDawg2012 I can't be mad at something that doesn't exist. Not unless I"m mad at it for NOT existing.

And I think that a god's existence could easily be one of the most terrible things we ever learn; most gods I've ever read about are ASSHOLES.

No, if I'm mad at anything, it's the behavior of the followers of these mythical sky-people. Because they're so certain that they're correct, these religious god-botherers add tenacity to their obnoxious behavior towards those who disagree with 'em.

  • @BionicDance

I can see by your reply how very confuse you are.

First you deny His existence then you go on to be possibly mad for His non-existence. You then add the part of how terrible it would be if He did exist.

    ???????????????????

God does exist, my evidence is you and the avatar that you have created in your image.

"add tenacity to their obnoxious behavior towards those who disagree with 'em. "

You seem to be doing a good job of rising to their level.

  • @RudeDawg2012 if I'm confused, it's because you're not making an ounce of sense.

How exactly does my existence and the existence of my CGI character prove god exists? That makes zero sense.

I'm not angry that god doesn't exist, I'm angry at the people who think he DOES exist for the way they behave toward the rest of the world.

  • @BionicDance Your animation's eyes scare the shit out of me. Im not trying to be offensive.. but lol.

  • @RudeDawg2012

She never said that she is mad because gods dont exist.... You're reading only what you want to see.

"god does exist, my evidence is you and the avatar that you have created in your image" Weakest evidence EVER to present to a discussion. Seriously.

  • @romainelettuce2

    You obviously miss this statement:

"I can't be mad at something that doesn't exist. Not unless I"m mad at it for NOT existing."

The implication of her been mad because God don't exist is there.

Its ironic that she believes in ET but doesn't believe in God.

Instead of thinking about God in the mystical realm she could try stepping out of that box and think of Him as the greatest programmer that has ever existed.

Less then a 100 years ago a virgin birth seem impossible.

  • @RudeDawg2012

"Not unless i'm mad at it for NOT existing." She never said that she is mad that a god doesn't exist. She said that its impossible to be mad at something that doesn't exist... but its possible to be mad at it for not existing. Do you want me to break down some other things and spoonfeed you? Then change your diaper?

A virgin birth is still impossible...

  • @romainelettuce2

No matter how much you try to spin it the implication of her been mad for Gods none existence is still there.

"A virgin birth is still impossible..." Oh really!

Let me present this scenario to you.

Kate here never had sex in her life and one day (at about age 39) she decides to have a baby but still remain a virgin.

All she has to do is go down to the local fertility clinic and have an embryo implanted in her uterus. Wouldn't the birth of her baby be a virgin birth.

  • @RudeDawg2012

Bullshit, she never said that she was mad a god existed, she only said that it is POSSIBLE to be mad for a god not existing (you probably are).

    It is kinda possible

  • @RudeDawg2012 FACT! you can have a baby from no sex with a man....the FACT IS....the women is not a virgin at time of the baby being born....virgin just means not touched or never experienced something....not having to do with only sex.implanted means touched(not a virgin)

  • @chucka59 I think you are reaching just a bit here Chuck.

You are using the adjective meaning of the word instead of its noun meaning.

    Virgin

Noun a woman or man, who has never had sexual intercourse.

adjective: like or suggesting a virgin because untouched, unmarked, pure, clean, etc.: virgin snow

By your definition we all lose our virginity at birth because we are touched.

  • @RudeDawg2012 right, can be compared to alot of things..but the point is a women would be touched if inplanted...not new no more...and in reality...a man is always a virgin(sexually) unless he gets in the ass if you wanna take it that deff....seems everyone has their own deffs for thing nowdays and never can get it right...lol...but you see my point...right?

  • Comment removed

  • @RudeDawg2012 ok.sorry....tired..adj....means then even if had sex..still virgin if never pregnent

  • If it does not impact our existence, and cannot be observed in a controlled setting, then it is indistinguishable from the nonexistent.

Religion is the answer to a question, that a person of reason admits he does not know the answer to.

A person of reason will attempts to answer the question using logic and reasoning skills and finds that they who claim to know for certain, without evidence, has given up on the true answer, and have become complacent in the stagnant waters of blind faith.

  • @RudeDawg2012 LOL... so everyone on the planet knows god exists and follows him or knows he exists and hates him. there are NO people on the planet that just don't believe in him? you are a complete fucktard.

  • @geturphil69

You are either very ignorant or high on some type of drug.

Please point out in any of my previous comments where I stated that "NO PEOPLE ON THE PLANET JUST DON'T BELIEVE IN HIM".

Dude, you atheist just keep amazing me with your adroitness.

  • I love this, posted to my facebook for sure. Great work!

  • @coastermonger Thanks! And thanks for watching! :)

  • very impressive. i like your camera movements, particularly your editing choices in the way you change shots and have her turn toward us. You do it with perfect timing (can you tell I'm into editing? :) I really like your calmer tone in this (just for the sake of this video) and I really like your characters ability to seem emotional, paricularly the way you did her eyes. And, it goes with out saying, you know I loved what she had to say. I know this is an old vid but keep it up:)

  • What is it with athiest videos using HORRIBLE CGI in educational videos. We can do much better guys and gals.

  • Very nice video, and don't worry the lip syncing is better then most professional animatiors can get. Just a question though is the character supposed to look like how you actually look in real life?

  • @supermanlypunch My eyes are bigger than hers in real life. :D

  • @BionicDance Awesome!

  • I'm just an atheist because I'm pissed off that i didn't think of creating religion first, my religion would be awsome and would defintatly involve eatting ice cream.

  • AdamEtheridge is right, the lip-synch is dead-on and the look overall is just effing cool. And yeah, it's amazing just how backed-into-a-corner faith can make you feel. I remember what is was like to be confused about which Christian faith I should subscribe to. It was awful, especially since I was sixteen and dealing with a lot of other crap that goes with the territory. Religion is a form of mental abuse when you think your "soul" is on the line : / In any even, LOVE the Rational Station.

  • This is great!

I love the look of it, the lipsynch is dead-on, and this video even has a point. That makes it FAR better than most animation I've seen in a long time.

I'm an animator too, and I'm working on my own animated sci-fi series. I sincerely hope the first episode looks this good and has this much depth when I get it done.

    You're rapidly becoming my hero.

  • *grin* Aww, shucks. :)

Actually, this episode isn't NEARLY as bodacious as the other two, especially episode 03, which I'm particularly proud of.

I'm also making an animated trailer for my webcomic, which is also done in CGI (though obvious still frames, being a comic).

    Thanks for watching!

  • I must've over-looked this one.

    I LOVED this ^_^

  • Creepy eyes O_o

  • But an excellent series of points

  • It is much more understandable to have a scientific conscious awareness that everything had a first beginning or a primary seed which followed into all that exists and continues to evolve into more and more new existence. The only scientific answer is the very singular seed that started it all is a infinite intelligence.

  • First, that's not scientific AT ALL.

Second, intelligence does not START, it has to be DEVELOPED.

Third, such a seed would have to come from SOMEwhere, else you're arguing for what amounts basically to magic.

Fourth, you have no explanation for ANY of this, nor proof; you cannot logic your way to god's existence, you have to PROVE it.

So, in essence, thanks for playing but try again. And learn to use the "Reply" button while you're at it.

  • @BionicDance "Reply" button whil<<

Pay attention. There was no BionicDance "Reply" button when I started as you were not on the comments as others forced your posts out. Now I will reply in a minute. Also if you keep sarcasm and ill humor out we can continue in a decent conversation otherwise cioa.

  • You will get respect when you've earned it, not before; you've already LOST points on that score by your prior behavior so far, I'm afraid.

Start presenting actual empirical, objective evidence for your claims or do please kindly go away.

  • @BionicDance kindly go away. <<

I could not be happier than to end this discussion. As for evidence we can only theorize by the experiences knowledge around us as to what is in store after death and what the incomprehensibility of human minds toward the infinite is. PS I don't ask for respect; I do ask for discussion of which you seem to be avoiding by not reading or maybe not able to comprehend my discussion.

  • I'm not avoiding discussion, I'm simply discounting your point due to a complete lack of evidence.

I'm not going to play Pretend with you, and act like it's real; either back up your points with evidence or fuck off.

  • @BionicDance fuck off. <<

Okay I will fuck off. You are unable to grasp with your mind the meanings of life because your attitude is you can do anything you want to. Believe me there are many things you are definitely not allowed to do and they have serious consequences if you do them. I will fuck off and not be corresponding to you and I do wish you to find health and enlightenment. Goodbye.

  • I accept your concession of the argument; if you ever have FACTS to present, do please drop by sometime.

  • @BionicDance

Concession? What concession? What arguements? There are none. Having a discussion is not an arguement and you have said nothing at all in your pretty vids so get lost dumbo'

  • If you leave a debate before its conclusion, that is tacit concession, as is not actually addressing the points of your opponent.

You have presented no evidence to support your claims, and you've stalked off in a huff; that's tacit concession of your argument, which I have subsequently accepted...

...unless you're now prepared to actually defend your side with checkable, empirical evidence.

  • @BionicDance First, Second, Third, Fourth, <<

Shortstop! Hey hey hey. This is not a baseball game. You do not get to flood four issues at once and expect a decent discussion. I will take one at a time starting on my next post.

  • @BionicDance First, <<

    Whatis not scientific at all?

    Be more specific please?

  • Your claim that, and I quote, "The only scientific answer is the very singular seed that started it all is a infinite intelligence," is not scientific at all.

  • @BionicDance singular seed <<

Seed is the metaphor for an infinite creator. Study all the science you can and in this world you can slice it anyway you want, you will find that we live in a physical world that evolves and it keeps evolving even before and after death. Why? When you cut out all the red tape you boil it down to light coming from an initial seed or pseudo-beginning; where something is behind that physical beginning too; according to human scientific theory.

  • Which says NOTHING about this intelligence you seem to think it had.

  • @BionicDance Second, intelligence does not START <<

That is why an infinite intelligence is so incomprehensible to the human mind as it must be infinite without a start or end! Yet humans have a body that is a continuation of all previous existence, and has an end to physical existence then returns back to where it came. You can speculate all energy as the essence of all there is and in your speculation you may ask where did this energy originate?

  • Of COURSE intelligence starts; over time it gradually develops as lifeforms become more complex.

Explain to me how an intelligence can just EXIST without beginning, without developing. Because that's what you're claiming god did: just existed. Always.

Well, if you're going to claim that, then PROVE IT. Or go away. Cuz I'm not going to treat your fairy tales as if they're real.

    EVIDENCE, boyo! Evidence.

  • The truth is even if God presented to everyone as something earthly that we could touch taste see and feel, our human comprehension is much too stupid to understand an infinite intelligent intellect as being real and existing. Crying about how mean God is will not change our getting out of the sanctity of this life, and the choices of good over evil for the benefit of all.

  • None of this proves or even suggests that such a being actually exists.

  • @BionicDance a being actually exists. <<

Say your God okay? You have the option not have to prove anything, to human beings. So your human beings are not aware that you exists & can run amok or be good in any manner they choose. You may be concerned & decide to intervene or ignore specific issues of humanity. Did you ever have a truly uncanny reality check, as happens to humans on earth, from a true & valid experience, so you called to God when it was real & not an imagined fake story?

  • None of this does ANYTHING to show that a god exists. Come back when you have proof instead of faith and "What if...?" style questions.

  • @BionicDance i know this is old but this conversation had me so confused because you "opponent" rambled on and on and said NOTHING. amazing. Got my dose of youtube idiots ownage today. Thank you:)

  • Very good animation. I am going to be studying simulation design and game programming in a few months. The lip syncing is just so real....

  • speak for urself you hypocrite. i'll remind you that u called agnosticism "oxymoronic". so... would YOU like to make an argument rather than just make assertions for once?

  • @LuminousTruth A-theism. Lack of belief. There's no such thing as agnostic.

  • NOT BAD ANIMATION GOOD JOB

  • saying such an evil thing is tantamount to saying that science is contrapurpose.

  • Your continued denial of Agnostic truth is silly, theist. how u twist and bend agnostic conscepts to serve an anti-agnostic purpose is Ironic and disgraceful.

  • wonderfully rational

and full of love and light

    thanks

  • @CartesianTheist

lol Picklepumpers loves story telling...its one of his past times ! lol

however he is still a Troll !

  • @picklepumpers

You need to quit whilst yoiu are behind......You are full of flaws with your Pickled thinking....

  • and what proof is that?

  • Im sorry, I was wrong to assume. But to be fair it isn't right to tell a theist that God isn't real when all their hope, faith, and trust comes from a deity.

On a personal note, I was never a Christian. I am a polytheist who believe in the gods that are real... you see, I worship the Sun, Moons, and the Planets as gods and goddesses. Gaia being the Earth Herself. And like Atheists, Christians conciders Astrotheists (such as myself) a threat because their faith is a prodogy of Astrotheism.

  • @PicklePumpers

We start off being indoctrinated in three "comforting faerie tales" as children, to reassure us and keep us in line. They are the tooth faerie, santa claus, and dog...er...I mean god.

Around 6 or 8 most of us realize the tooth faerie is just a parent with a pocketful of quarters.

Around 10-12 even the most credulous idiot realizes santa, a much more detailed belief, is also a lie.

It boggles my mind that the trend doesn't hold true for the last BS around AT LEAST 20-22 :(

  • I understand the betrayal that Christianity have caused so many people. The loss of Faith due to ignorance, bigotry, and secretive motives. But you can't find true Faith in a book of religion. You find Faith within yourself, so please don't hate God because some holier then thow thinks he or she knows God.

  • LOL @PICKLEPUMPERS

roflmao him quoting" Holy Bible Scriptures"!!! as back up to try and win the Debate........Hmmmm

    stoopid is as stoopid does....

  • @CartesianTheist

    Picklepumpers is Southern Baptist....

  • For some reason I couldn't look her in the eyes. I might be an Atheist, but I am a man first, and even if she is animated I can't help focusing on her nice...umm... hair :-)

  • an animation afraid of reality....

  • Mr. Johnny!! I'm pleased to see you again!

    I hope all is well!

  • Car...

U don't need faith to believe in facts that can be demonstarted. If god were real, we woudl be able to find evidenvce, since he was supposed to have manifested & interact with man. The curious thing is, he's been so completely weel conceiled for 2K yrs!! Since god supposedly is so concerned about saving our souls, I'd expect at least a decent appearance, yet he won't even answer prayers!

The failure fo prayer is what got me starrted in researching christianity.

  • car..

If U think its a straw man, make ur case,

and please....don't hesitate 2 present that evidence you're alluding 2. I was a Xian 4 over 50 yrs B4 I advanced to atheism, and I've been working with scripture, the early church & church fathers, & finally, pre-Abrahamic god pantheons whcih provided the raw material 4 the birth of Judaism! In other words...Jahweh.

I only mention these areas of study Ive been involved with 4 the past 10 years to say I'm at least familiar with the subject.

  • Cart

I think she does quite well at both.

And when it comes to dogma, we all have to captain our own ships?

Nothing wrong with well placed aggression...but not enough rationality? The fact that she refuses 2 accept some1 else's fantasy seems very rational!

Faith (hope) is irrational. It's believing in something in spite of no evidence!!

And don't we all depend on our own intelligence 2 decipher reality? It the best thing we have in understanding our world., and so far, I say we've done well!

  • I'm impressed by the music, composition, and editing of these videos. How tough are they to make? Conveying emotion seems much harder to animate than deciding on what to say, am I right? Still, in order to save development time it seems best to keep such arguments short and to the point, which means that they must be perfected so as to cover not only common responses but also loop-holes as well. Keep up the cool vids!

  • This apart from the whole Problem of Evil...

  • "Evil" and "Good" are perspectives.

  • According to mainstream morality, the kind that most Christians (being the conformists they are) subscribe to, God can't possibly be 'good'. Life on Earth is a mess, full of inefficiency and unnecessary cruelty. Aging, disease, natural disasters, animals killing each other for food... no sane person could call this 'good'. It makes perfect sense from an evolutionary perspective, but not as 'intelligent design'. Only an idiot or sadist would design this kind of world.

  • Par...

    Excellent points!

One thing that always made me laugh when Xians talk about Intelligent Design is, why would the designer give us the same plumbing to eat & breathe with?? Not very intelligent design by my understanding!!

  • Other then aging and natural disasters, it sounds like your blaming the gods for our fuck ups. As if God the Father and Mother Goddess are bad parents. But is it truely the faults of the parents if the children keep fighting each other?

  • @AstroMen2911

First of all, aging, natural disasters and (thousands of ) diseases, deformities, disorders etc. aren't some 'little detail' -- they're the main causes of death and misery in this world. And what about the cruelty of nature, animals having to kill each orther for food; what kind of ridiculous barbarism is *that*? Finally, if we were created by some god or gods, then he/they are directly responsible for all our flaws and fuckups. Absolute power = absolute responsibility.

  • BD

The only thing that disappoints me about your channel is ...there aren't more videos!! :-)

    I'm am hungry for more!

  • Well, then you're in luck...uploading a new one even as we speak. :)

I've been ramping up my production lately; at least a new vid every other day, usually more.

    Thanks for watching!

  • This popped up in my suggestions box. Great video :o) I've been confused by the overly complicated nature of things all my life I think. We've been brainwashed about a lot of things as a society it seems.

  • I'd say so, yes; many things which are actually quite straightforward--but obfuscated by complexity--are made to seem much more mysterious than they really are by the way the human mind works.

    Thanks for watching! :)

  • love the sci fi look atheism is the future

    religion will die

  • Not all logically possible Gods require faith - maybe God just doesn't give a shit about humans, and only loves bacteria or black holes or something the universe is more fit for than man :D

  • Wouldn't that still require faith? After all, what evidence have we that such a creature exists?

  • Awesome work on the 3dSMax modeling :)

i use the same but i make mostly landscapes

  • That camera just doesn't want to sit still.

  • Religion is hostile to the truth, and hostile to liberty. Religious folk generally tell us that we must believe first, and then the proof will be shown in the form of a "personal relationsihip" with a god. However, that places the cart before the horse. We need a reason to believe, and that's not the same thing as a need to believe or a want to believe.

    Religion is wishful thinking.

  • Well, yes.

  • All of the sexist comments speak volumes about the patriarchal nonsense of religion. Religious people really need to use there minds for something other than memorizing silliness from the Bronze Age.

  • go buy some logic

  • Theists cut themselves every time they try using Occam's razor. You'd think they'd learn by now xD

  • I feel your being a little hard on religion.

About a week ago I thought of the following line which sums up my beliefs quite well:

"The greatest achievement of religion is the scientific method."

Religion is part of something more general, an attempt to explain the world around us. Even if it is false, intellectual progress has been mainly driven by religion and that must be respected.

  • I'm sorry, but no; religion and science are polar opposites.

Religion is willing to accept wishful thinking as evidence; science demands empirical fact.

For that ALONE, religion has earned my utter contempt.

  • you're confused

  • How so?

  • well, BionicDance just answered that in the comment above and yet you ask me how so.

  • First of all, she isn't calling for theists to be burned at the stake or even denied their right to believe, I'm not sure how you can stop people from believing in a god. Wasn't that thing called "The Dark Ages" caused by religion? Is it progress that a 150 year old theory, which has been proven dozens of times; from fossils to nylon eating bacteria, is being assailed by people with, at best, phony degrees from diploma mills?

  • The Dark Ages were not caused by religion. It was caused by the collapse of the Western Empire (Roman) and bubonic plague which killed ~1/3 of Europe ppl. The economy collapsed and the world became a smaller place as trade routes closed. Superstition grew, and can you blame them? Image 1/3 of all the ppl you know dying within a year. Literacy collapsed. The only ppl still literate in europe were church men. They are the ones who kept the link to Rome and the Greeks alive.

  • It's safe to say that religion preserved knowledge during that dark period (much of it wrong but knowledge none the less). This is exactly the point im trying to make. Religion must be given its due. No use making fun of it (and its ppl) if you dont understand the historical context of the last 10,000 years. I say this as an agnostic, and a soon to be physics phd student.

  • very good animation

  • I'm probably not the first to say this but, when you can't resist, you can't resist: Fahr Out!

  • ...I was raised by hippies.

    You do the math.

    ;)

  • Its the galactic yoyo.

  • I have recently subscribed to NonStampCollector. If anyone has seen his videos you know that the medium is not important, it is the message. BionicDance has managed to compact an powerful message within a simple 2 minute video. Well done. I am just about to check out some of the the other videos.

  • Claims of the existence of a god or gods can best be described with a quote from Wolfgang Pauli (taken out somewhat out of context, but meh. :P).

"Not only is it not right, it's not even wrong."

  • bionic dance-

are you a dude using a female voice effect?

mind you, i enjoy your videos... just wondering...

  • i will force god on you, lol lil bitch

  • I allow honest criticism, but not abuse. Say hello to Mr. Banhammer.

  • Hi BionicDance, i really like your computer animation. It most have taken u a long time to make it. U most be very smart. I looked at your profile and i see we r the same age. i'm a aquaries what sign r u?

  • someone is totally looking for a date.

  • I think ur been presumptuous. I'm totally straight, I was just curious because we r the same age. I guess nowdays u can't be nice to a person of the same sex without people thinking u r trying to hit on them.

  • nope you cant be nice to anyone. STOP BEING NICE. hahaha, sorry I dont see many people normally being nice or commenting in their right mind most the time. my bad.

    *walks away quietly*

  • your totally the woman on daily show recently, awesome you rock

  • I haven't watched The Daily Show in years (I don't even own a TV, much less have cable; I'm such a BAD American. Heh) so I have no idea who yer talking about, but thanks for the compliments and thanks for watching! :)

  • epydemic makes a good point, actually and i didn't see where you refuted it. can you empirically show that things like love and goodness exist? what about compassion, empathy, and hope? show me the scientific method that empirically points to the existence of hate. is that to say they don't exist? you, of course, would agree that its laughable to say that they don't. so empirical evidence isn't required in every case to show that something exists.

  • Much as people hate to admit it--or don't even realize it--emotions are biological functions in the brain and the limbic system. "Compassion", "hate" and all the others a labels which we give to the sensations attached to the functioning of these biological systems.

Emotions are not things which exist the way a chair exists; the labels we give to emotions are descriptions, in essence they are adjectives and not vowels. You are making a category error.

  • i see...so there really are no such things as good and evil. those would only be words to describe actions that we see as either helpful or harmful. consciences exist in us no more than they would in a rattlesnake. people are just nothing more than biological lifeforms - no different than say a cockroach or a dog whose actions are not governed by any sense of ultimate accountability. at death, it matters not at all if you were hitler or mother theresa. all lives have the same sum value - zero.

  • That is exactly correct...except for the part about conscience. We have that, but it is not a thing; it is a thought, a feeling, a product of our biological mind.

It may be culturally or socially relevant, but that doesn't make it substantial or empirical; our conscience is subjective and personal, and purely a function culture and biology. A conscience cannot and does not exist without the brain, without biology; to try to make it into something more spiritual is to deny the reality.

  • i have to say that you are the most honest atheist i've ever conversed with. that is to say that most atheists argue exhaustively that their lives are more valuable than that of a cockroach. of course, as you know, they can't be atheists and at the same time that be true. its certainly a completely nihilistic and joyless world view but at least you're honest with yourself about it and are entitled to it.

  • It's hardly a joyless world...I j,ust don't have the hubris to claim that joy exists outside of my own personal experience, or that it is anything but the product of my brain chemistry..

  • That was the most stupidest, idiotic and moronic shit I ever heard. The only conclusion that I could come up with is that you are an IDIOT SAVANT.

  • I'll take you seriously when you can explain exactly WHAT you found stupid, and WHY; until then, you're just a troll.

  • You're calling me a troll? It took you approximately less then 5 minutes to post a reply. I can see that the last post before mine was about 1 week ago. You're like a spider on a web waiting for it's pray . As far as my comments go all I can say is " Ms brainiac you figure it out". Go out an get a life!............ BYE!

  • I happened to be home and online--watching a podcast, in fact--when yer reply came in, so I answered it. Sheesh; are your legs tired from jumping to conclusions? *raised eyebrow*

Anyway, you ARE a troll, obviously; you didn't address the issue at all, preferring instead to try an insult me.

You had your chance for a civil conversation; now eat ban-hammer, monkeyboy.

  • I don't think it is accurate to say we should believe in God without or against the evidence.

If that were the case, apologetics would not exist. An area of study where the religious present evidence and defense of their viewpoints.

You may not like the evidence, but it is a mistake to say there is none.

  • Oh, please...the vast majority of the "evidence" that apologetics produces is not the kind that would hold up in either a science lab or a court of law, and that's the kind that would NEED to be produced to convince a truly rational-minded person.
