Since you only do one walkthrough for each game, why don't you play a semi- realistic character who doesn't steal everything in sight, the experience would be more believable and possibly immersive for the average viewer and it wouldn't be so goofy long either.
It is possible to kill the watchers that attack you. Play Baldur's Gate Tutu with a Evil Fighter Half-Orc and invest everything in Dex and Str and in Two-Handed Swords, that way they miss and you get the most damage with the Two-handed Sword. Then buy a Two-handed Sword and invest in some basic armor. Then do what Veriax just did and then fight the watcher. I was able to kill the watcher with 20 damage and then 14 damage, then he ran away and killed him. Made me pure evil but I got Plate Armor.
That was hilarious... I got caught on one play through in the medical center stealing potions. and when the guards came I ran into the party combat training building and killed the guard with all those temporary npcs. The wand of heavens made quick work of the guard and I got an easy set of plate mail out of the deal, which was the best armor I had for like the first 5 or 6 chapters of the game. It's a cheap tactic but it got the job done. I did lose a bunch of reputation though.

You encountered a bug that multispowns the guard. It hapened for me with the halflich in the BGII ToB once it's pain unless you kill all enemies and have a lot of EXP.
@LetsPlayMineSweeper Read AD&D 1 or 2 to have an understanding of the game, nowt better imho than getting a few mates, a quest, dialogue and a plot. The rules of BG1 follow those of AD&D 2, though skills are removed - this amazing game was made in 1998 or so.
@RaystlinXI You forgot "Using a missile weapon in close combat and giving the enemy a free +4 bonus to attack rolls when a short sword is available in the quickslot, thus dying horribly" XD
@BeeblesTV If you install it on a XP system and copy the files off the XP machine over to your vista PC your should be able to play it easily. I've done that with quite a few games and it's worked perfectly.
Vista has different means of installing programs, people who blame vista generally don't understand why people disliked it. It was disliked because Nvidia said their cards were vista ready, yet they weren't and gave many people problems.

In vanilla bg the guard wouldn't have followed you downstairs. Apparantly tutu changed that. Was fun though :) The guards just kept coming.

I think you are penalized when you try to attack using a ranged weapon in a melee situation. I think it effects your ability to hit.
