Gosh.....remeber the days when music was fun like this? Feel good, fun times without having to sing about being suicidal, shooting someone, or all the other crap in music today.
Just bright clothes, up beats, and smiles on our faces lol!!! Man I miss the 80's!!!
I've always loved Howard Jones, so I was delighted when I stumbled upon this video of my favorite Hojo song. But 4:30 into this video I caught some excellent slap bass action. I'm always on the lookout for good examples of slap bassists on video, and I know Mark King's amazing. But this guy's friggin' great, too!
Just curious, how many cover and karaoke version has their been done of this song? I have the Countdown version, Stingray Music, SoundChoice, KaraokeVersion, the 7 minute extended mix, and the acoustic and remix version for World Cup. Any others out there that I haven't heard of?
Check out on Youtube Trevor Morais the percussionist here playing drums on Quantum Leaps 'Lone Ranger'- class act, love his playing style, plays like he's the happiest man alive ! !
Yes I see on a second play on this clip the linear audio track only picks up to full fidelity at 4 minute in, still I love it, but I wanna hear that first juno 60 chord hit at the same.
Superb! I have a same recording on VHS, I checked out the recording yesterday and the audio is slightly better than this post, I will digitize and run the audio through some studio enhancements and post soon!!
thks to this web site, all of us can relive our youth, and the tinny boppers of today can watch and see were there so call mucis branched from,,cause with out H J and boomcrash opera, inxs, tears for fears, psudeo echo, cindy lauper, the music of today would be crap,,( not far from that now) cheers
hj was / is an absolute icon from the classic 80's. luv the clothes, music and general vibe of this great period. has anyone noticed that the drummer looks like the porn star Ron Jeremy???
this bloke has never had the credit he deserves people always look at the eighties as some kind of joke he was the nuts new song, like to get to know you well, what is love ,hide and seek classics....
How hilarious would it have been if the camera pulled out from the stage and it was just an empty auditorium?

Lol.. I absolutely agree with you... Music these days is not even a bit as good as the music we hear from howard jones and others.
It doesn't even have a bit of the energy and athmosphere that this music has. :P

The absolutly very best perfomance of "Things can only get better" I know. That´s to bad, that
I couldn´t experience this time, but Well I
actually wasn´t born yet. However, I´m a big fan
now. Go Howard!

So many of us are saying the same thing about HJ being hugely underrated. Perhaps he will belatedly get the credit he deserved.
