I get it now since I never really got the difference and the similaritys of meiosis and mitosis. sooo thnx. ^o^ My science teacher is kinda like that........... when he's happy. which is most of the time.
Go to class for attendance then watch our videos to actually learn the stuff! We have awesome lessons on Chemistry, Math, and tons of other stuff too if you have anything else that seems to be eluding your understanding.
Do chromosomes exist in the form of chromatin threads or what? Because in mitosis, (during telophase) if the chromosomes formed uncoil to form chromatin threads, then how can chromosomes be there???
How can it therefore be said that chromosomes, (in prophase) duplicate to form sister chromatids, if only chromatin exists in the first place? Or is it that the chromatin thickens up? Can any one explain?
I'm not quite familiar with this stuff myself, but...
the way I see it, think of it like this: chromatin is like sand. It's really messy and whatnot, and looks like one big indistinct glob. Now, add some water, and you can turn it into neater clumps. These clumps are now chromosomes if the sand was chromatin. A chromosome is still chromatin, but in a neater shape. And after telophase, the chromatin just goes back into its gooey phase (and is no longer a sandcastle/chromosome).
Different people learn different ways. So glad you learned something and enjoyed the video! Be sure to check out the other Thinkwell videos through our channel if you take any other classes you need a little extra help with!
