  • I love the pseudo Lucia cadenza she throws in!

  • There's an exceptional clarity to MacDonald's voice that is very appealing, not unlike that of Marion Talley who excited the opera world and a wide radio audience in the 1920's and '30's. Thank you for posting this splendid example of MacDonald's vocal art.

  • What a beautiful world we all had before the goddamned yids took over and destroyed everything! Why?

  • Oh, I was wondering what that song was! I love Maytime its one of my favorite MacDonald/Eddy movies.

  • Jeanette MacDonald sings Meyerbeer - and not many sopranos can hold a candle to her !

  • Nobles Seigneurs, Salut! sung by Jeanette..sheer h e a v e n!

Jeanette, along with Deanna Durbin and Grace Moore, were responsible for bringing operatic music to the general public via their very popular films. Never had opera been so accessible to the masses...and many people (including yours truly) were introduced to opera thru her glorious voice. Thank you so much, Jeanette..and thank you stephenjoeagi for posting!

  • This part is so awesome ...Oh I love it :o)

  • Beautiful singing from Jeanette. The boyish enthusiasm on Nelson`s face as he watches Jeanette sing is so sweet. Thank You for sharing with Us. Lorraine
