please pronounce the "te" in tegatana as as short "e" as in tepid, not as a long "e" as in tea. just sounds terrible for any japanese speakers. a small detail for a marvelous technique. thanks for posting.
Great videos. I have just started practicing Aikido. After every lesson I look for your video that explains what I learned that day. Then I use your video to compare it with my moves and to improve them. It really helps to get rid of mistakes. You do a great job in explaining. Thanks for that.
Only, I would like to see those techniques done withot wearing a Hakama because it hides the fot work which is hard to guess for a beginner. (I know without Hakama is like practicing in underpants :-)
i'd like to tell you that you shouldn't wear glasses to practise aikido because my brother broke the glasses to a partner in a superclass and i'd like to tell you a story:
ONCE UPON A TIME ONE CHILD KICKED ANOTHER CHILD HIS GLASSES INTO HIS EYE AND HE HAD "MIOPHI" (THE TRASTORN YOU HAVE IN YOUR EYES) (sorry for my english but i'm chineese) AND THE GLASS CUT A NERVE FROM HIS EYE (sorry for my english but i'm chineese) AND THE TRASTORN DESAPPEARED.
Small observation: As you speed it up (from 1:13), you lose the tenkan motion. Is that intentional? Seems to me that in effect you lose a bit of power and balance that way.

Nicely explained. Thanks for having a beginner Aikido video that does not claim Nage did always move off the line of attack.
