iq still does not represent true intelligence because not all parts of the brain are used. Even if the kid had an iq of 176 we still cant say if he is smarter than einstein. Just saying because thats what I read on this science magazine.
You seem funny, but sort of irritating at the same time. The next generation of Engineers is not only going to be exponentially better in the future, but not waste their time making youtube videos at work :P. For example I am 15 and have enough knowledge of both the Unix and Linux like architecture, as well as the microprocessor unit in these robots your company helps out with to make your mother do a back flip.
We didn't have the advantage of the internet when we were kids (I'm 44 though). I think that will prove to be very instrumental in this generation's ability to just carry a lot of facts around-period. The thing that really impresses me about the kids today(not just kids but say, the under 30 crowd) is how accepting they are of other people. I think they will turn out to be a very impressive generation of people that will do some mind-blowing things in the area of even, oh... engineering, say.

I saw a woman on that show who said she had a degree in architectural engineering, and yet she missed some questions on basic geometry.
Anyway, I think that children have a great potential to be smarter than adults, since all adults seem to do is sit around and watch t.v.
