@TheGreatBunghole16 it doesnt matter if you have 6,000,000,000 dcm kx12 speakers it matter if you have 2 dcm kx12 series 2! speakers because those will the world spilt!
@chiles55 I just did some research on the difference between the kx12 series 1's & 2's... the series 1's are 4-ohm, and the series 2's are 8-ohm. Simple electronics' theory says that the lower the impedance (ohms), the more powerful the bass. Lookup vids of 1-ohm amps vs 8-ohm.... obvious difference. Plus, I have them on the same channel, so 4-ohm + 4-ohm = 2-ohm!!!! MY SHIT OWNS.
What are the speakers rated for (RMS)? Not a fan of "Bass I love you" (Bass I hate you); much prefer the bass guitar from Heart's Straight On (I guess I'm dating myself here :-)
Are they bi-amp capable? They look like the kind of speakers that cause your parents to yell at you :-D
@cnoyes72 I am not sure what the speakers are rated at, but the nominal wattage on the back of each speaker; from the top to the bottom: Driver: 40W, Tweeter: 5W, Woofers: 60W times 2 = 165 W per KX-212 as "Nominal Watt" estimation :)
So it could possibly be twice as much as what it says, or 1/10th of it. lol
I have hooked a KX-12 (the same but one less subwoofer) to a car amp rated at a max of 300 W RMS, & full power, the speakers were perfect :D
If you guys on youtube would like me to make a video with more light, and instead of just two 12" subs, SIX 12" subs? Cuz I will if someone says they want it =)
well, people have called it a "driver"... it can hold its own with excursion... but technically its a mid-range speaker that can reach down a bit... =)
so do the 12 inchers only produce sub-bass, and the 6 incher produce main stuff? or do the 12's have a woofer frequency range and the midrange just reaches down a bit?
The 12" speakers produce most of the "low-range" to "mid-range" sound... and the smaller one on top produces only mid-range sound. I have 2 of these speakers, and 2 kx12 speakers with only one sub each. All 4 of the DCMs playing at once has more bass than 2 Memphis PR-12 subwoofers... =D
yeh i saw your vid with both pairs playing, being run off your beautiful technics reciever... absolute beauty that thing is, i bet that sounds sooo nice :D
yeah its a beauty =) ... i just had my 2 small DCMs playing at a party tonight... and the cops were called lol... i got complements and invitations to other parties... The small ones are almost too much bass at a party haha =D
i have no clue but all i know is that i can turn the volume up almost all the way on both of the kx212's, but the one that i didn't show in this vid rattles a bit, but the receiver is 320 watts 4 ohms - 16 ohms and there are 4 speaker terminals on this model... but i am pretty sure that these loudspeakers satisfy my need for bass in my room which is very tiny...i will upload another more recent vid with both of my DCM KX212's =) i am pretty sure the other vid i made sounds better =)
the dcm kx12 series 2 speakers are boooomming more than these go on over to mikelafmans channel and look at his random shit video.
