My aunt has a freestar and let me tell you its a great minivan. Years ago my mother had a 1990 dodge caravan and that car was nice but had no comfort or safety to it. My aunt also had a 1998 GMC Safari van which was roomy but i still like the freestar the best. My aunt will agree with me she loves her car more than her own house.
The Ford Freestar is the biggest piece of crap, QC practically non-existent. Thank you Windsor Ontario Canada! Trac Control issues, leaky oil housing seal, coarse engine, atrocious panel fit and low economy (Avg 16MPG) to boot. Now add terrible crash performance and you have one big worthless hunk of junk. I can't wait to get rid of this and buy a better, safer automobile for me and my family. Never again will I buy a new Ford. NEVER AGAIN!
I bought a 2004 freestar 3.9,what a freakin' money pit.Where to begin, constant camshaft sensor codes, sincroniser(what takes place of distributer),500 dollar wheel bearings, transmission problems, pcm bad I've replaced the camshft sensor 3 times. One of the tinted sliding door windows got broke out COST $1019.00,for a damn window.Rear hatch handle breaks easily 3rd row stow away seat nice but all handles break. There is one key hole on the whole van (drivers door)Don't buy this money eating PIECESHIT
dang,. my friend owns a 2004 he loves it. well because hes a ford fan but he will brag about it but when he try and do a burnout all it will do is pull the back wheels and say thats from the front. or gets the tires spining in rain with alot of kids in the back end.
I agree 100%. Or buy an Odyssey like my mom has and get standard side airbags, traction control, vehicle stability assist, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake force distributor, an incredible safety cage. Oh and a top safety pick award for it's five stars for front, side and rear impact tests. Make sure its a 2008 or newer though.
this shows how much of a difference airbags make

ArturikGDL... I guess you never of the Chevy Venture. Take a look at those test results. Even the old windstar did better than that piece of crap.

Spend the extra $750 or whatever it is and buy the side/curtain airbags. It might be the best $750 you ever spent.

...so moral of the story, get the side airbags

ROFL. No kidding. It is amazing how much of a difference they make. The curtains are more important than the torso airbags too.

yea. they are the difference between life and death. you choose. i choose life.
