  • Hi Amanda, very interesting video. I was just wondering why WT footings are commonly circular instead of square..is it not more complicated to place the reinforcement and to use circular forms?..thanks!

  • @askandres From Amanda: "The wind turbine foundation design is a very complex process that takes into account many variables. These variables include the weight of the turbine parts, wind loading on those parts and soils at the turbine location. Because the winds come from all directions throughout the year, the loading is more circular than square. The rebar for the foundation comes pre-cut and pre-bent to ease the installation."
