people who think they are tough generally dont make it thru selection. and most legion work i did was peace keeping work trying to help small communities with regard to re-building roads and bridges. i came from nothing and became a proud soldier in the legion which i served for many yrs, legio patria nostra.
Sure it seems like a "cool" thing to go off and do, but you get sent off shooting child soldiers in Sierra Leone and things like that.

officers in the legion are french, only about 10% of legion officers are non-french, and even if you are a foreign officer, you cannot command a regiment.

im not 100% sure, he was in it from roughly 1994-2001 give or take a year, hes from dublin, hes first name is john, cant give a second for obvios reasons, he served in central america, amazon , sahara, killed a skinny there also who ran at him holding a weapon, hes about 5'10 black hair, lazy eyed looking, but extremely tough. hes lives in dublin now, north dublin. but he also works abroad.
do you remember the race the legion had with various armys in south america, the amazon, the legion won, he wasnt in it, also he was under a colonel or someone that got their head chopped off in military prison by other legionairs, does that sound familar, as far as i know they never found the head??? does this sound fimilar?? write back.
there is an annual sports event every year but i cant say i remember that 1 your talkin about..there is different groups of Legionnaires competing against each other and the odd time you would get foreign soldiers competing also. No mate i can honestly say i never heard of a Colonel gettin his head chopped off in a Legion prison, the prisons are tightly controlled and usually if a low ranking officer assaulted a higher rank then they would end up gettin battered and thrown in the prison.
And usually depending on the severity of the assault you would either get a hammerin, spend a bit of time in the Legion prison and be released, or if the assault was serious you would usually get sent to a normal French prison after u do a bit of time in the Legion prison. I couldnt say whether i know your mate or not without a second name and in the Legion every guy usually looks the same lol, usually the only thing that would distinguish you is you nationality

the prisons a prison really, you keep your head down, behave yourself, don't draw attention to yourself and you'll soon be out depending on what you've done ofcourse. its not a massive prison like, its a block with cells and usually you'll get respect while there depending. but as i said,what you've done usually depends on how far the Legion is willing to go to teach a lesson.if you do somethin serious then ppl can jus disappear. yes all have the choice to go to the Legion chateau if they want.
yes thats it, th legion chateau, yeah he also told me on many occasions the kind of punishment you can be put under, one of hes comrades was made stay ina makeshift cell in south america for almost 48 hours becuase the guy over him didnt like him and used a silly thing for the excuse. i also heard about thar disapear business f you pushed it to hard, he told me that the black guys couldnt last as long in the heat in africa, in ivory coast as the white legionairs

officers in the legion are french, only about 10% of legion officers are non-french, and even if you are a foreign officer, you cannot command a regiment.

Don`t talk bunk. When you start your training in one week as written means you have past the three weeks selection test an you are inside at the time. If you are inside, you are not able to be hours in youtube!! Dream on boy!

Pour ton information, ceci n'est pas du Krav Maga ( et oui il y a un K a Krav ... ). Ceci est du close combat. Le Krav Maga n'est pas utilisé par la Legion Etrangere. Il est utilisé par les forces d'interventions tel que le GIGN mais pas par la Legion

I'd recommend picking up 'Life In The French Foreign Legion'. It's a book by a guy who spent 5 years serving as a Legionnaire.
It's very detailed in what to expect, where to go etc etc.

I baught and read that book many times over,,,its very good and brutally honest. I dont know where it is and i have a feeling my no good beer guzzling lil bro has stolen it. I have decided to join when i graduate,,,,Sitting behind desks in a suite and tie earinng minimum wage overworked doing a mundane 9-5 job is not a future i have for myself.

This demonstration is really impressive.I am fed up of these american reactions.The WW2 was a conspiracy and Petain collaborated with Hitler before the war started.90% of the french army didn't fight,thus you can't judge the ability of our army on this.
So,the legion was created by Napoleon who led certainly the best army it never existed.
I think France needs more respect after the WW1 where 2 millions soldiers died and 6 millions wounded(on 29 millions people, lowest birthrate in Europe)

I spent over 40 in one stretch in Djibouti, Prison aint hard there.
Guys dissapearing yep that happens, remember after 2 weeks walk in the Jungle a guy went during the night, wierd.
I also trained in Guyane, and was lucky to go to Martinique. Don't know John me after the legion in 2002 and lived in Dublin and worked out in Blanchardstown.

im not 100% sure, he was in it from roughly 1994-2001 give or take a year, hes from dublin, hes first name is john, cant give a second for obvios reasons, he served in central america, amazon , sahara, killed a skinny there also who ran at him holding a weapon, hes about 5'10 black hair, lazy eyed looking, but extremely tough. hes lives in dublin now, north dublin. but he also works abroad.

there is an annual sports event every year but i cant say i remember that 1 your talkin about..there is different groups of Legionnaires competing against each other and the odd time you would get foreign soldiers competing also. No mate i can honestly say i never heard of a Colonel gettin his head chopped off in a Legion prison, the prisons are tightly controlled and usually if a low ranking officer assaulted a higher rank then they would end up gettin battered and thrown in the prison.

And usually depending on the severity of the assault you would either get a hammerin, spend a bit of time in the Legion prison and be released, or if the assault was serious you would usually get sent to a normal French prison after u do a bit of time in the Legion prison. I couldnt say whether i know your mate or not without a second name and in the Legion every guy usually looks the same lol, usually the only thing that would distinguish you is you nationality

whats the legion prison like, i actually think this serious case happened back in the 60's, way before he went in, im just lost in the exact story, i dont know much else about hes past there, except he can retire in some legionaire camp if hes likes, hes about 40 now, hes very good friend (also ffl) killed hes nephew on hes welcoming home party, he was asllep after drinking and the kid hit him joking to wake him up, but he automatically broke the kids neck, it was a tragedy

the prisons a prison really, you keep your head down, behave yourself, don't draw attention to yourself and you'll soon be out depending on what you've done ofcourse. its not a massive prison like, its a block with cells and usually you'll get respect while there depending. but as i said,what you've done usually depends on how far the Legion is willing to go to teach a lesson.if you do somethin serious then ppl can jus disappear. yes all have the choice to go to the Legion chateau if they want.

yes thats it, th legion chateau, yeah he also told me on many occasions the kind of punishment you can be put under, one of hes comrades was made stay ina makeshift cell in south america for almost 48 hours becuase the guy over him didnt like him and used a silly thing for the excuse. i also heard about thar disapear business f you pushed it to hard, he told me that the black guys couldnt last as long in the heat in africa, in ivory coast as the white legionairs

it took alot of time, but from what i hear, hes brother forgave him, the guy was sucidal for a long time and really went to fuck, but was couldnt explain the situation, he got prison time obviously but the family forgave him, awful tragedy and even my mate was a bit messed up, he wouldnt aloow hes girlfreind to sleep with him for a long time.
oh one 1 story, a black guy in the legion had to be air lifted or the alps once, he went grey and hes body couldnt accept the weather conditions???

yes well ofcourse theirs been many occasions when certain lads needed serious medical help. usually in training though with the body not yet climatised and pushing things to the max.

yes hes from dublin, very strong north dublin accent, hates the police also for some reason that he never fully explained to me either, a bit strange at times, but he firmly belives the ffl are the best army in the world, hes always says take the helicoptor from the marines and their like fish out of water
