I just got back in town so I sorry it has taken a while to answer this. Yes, it seems Devere and his gang lost no love over Buddy. Fortunitly the audience loved him.
Hello, It really only lasted thirteen weeks. With so many popular shows competing with it, it just did not get the ratings it needed. You have a good memory as it was indeed based off The Fugitive. The creator used the Fugitive as its base with a comic twist of course.
Oh my God, I had no idea Jack Sheldon had his own TV show!?! Just always knew him as a great trumpet player, and bandleader for Merv Griffin. He and his quartet still play every Thursday night at Jax in Glendale. He also sung, "I'm only a Bill" for Schoolhouse Rock. Thanks very much for posting!
Hi, if you mean, can you watch a complete episode, the answer is yes. Go to ebay and type in run buddy run. You will find a man there selling complete episodes. Thanks for your comments.
Hi, No you are not crazy, the show did exist. You have not been able to find reruns, because CBS never has rerun it. If you would like to have episodes of the show there is a man on ebay selling 10 episodes. Don't know where he got them but he does have them. They are very reasonable in price. Four are in excellent condition, six are fair, and he added one extra that is poor.
Yes,it was very funny and different from any other show. There were so many other top shows oppisite it, it just needed more time to get noticed.Sheldon was just great as Buddy, but then they all did such a good job with their parts.
You have to wonder what those syndicate guys were thinking, discussing their vital secrets in a steam room where anyone could have overheard them.
But this was a great show--somebody at school was always discussing the latest ep the day after, and it ended too soon. It was a great role for Jack Sheldon.
Buddy ran opposite I Dream Of Jeannie in 1966 and it appears that Jeannie was the ratings winner here. In 1966 I was 11 years old and liked both sitcoms!
Yes, I Dream Of Genie, Gilligan and Lucy all ran oppisite it and had been on for several seasons. They all had huge followings and the new show just didn't get watched.
Thank you for your comment, I must say that although Run Buddy Run was not my first favorite show,it is by far, my most favorite show.I have many websites with information for getting the show released, and many pics, If your interested in seeing one of these sites let me know.
Want to see clip of Wendell jumping out of a window after Mr. D's says, "Good Bye, Wendell!!", and, a clip of the tablemap of the US, with the stick figure represting Buddy.

Two bits of dialogue stick in my mind:
"Here's to Buddy. Short may he live"
"We want him either dead ..... or dead"

I remember this show. Seems like it only lasted one season. It's similar to "The Immortal" and "The Fugitive" in its premise.
