  • they're all so sweet ^^

    thanks!

  • ta si cuma Laighneach, is doil liom e

  • thank you so much for posting this. you have no idea how hard it is to find Irish translations.

  • Oh! i've been looking for this... and I found the answer: You Gave Me The answer!

    This video is very helpful!

  • thank you lovely lady! this was very helpful. :^)

  • Doesn't soulmate as Gaeilge come out as "friend of my soul" and mean "spiritual advisor"?

  • Who should say Tá , who should say Is? Is this male/female, formal/informal, or singular/plural?

You are my luvrrrrr <3 lol

  • Ta is usually used when you're connecting a noun with an adjective, such as "Ta tu go halainn"-- you are beautiful. Is is usually used to connect a noun with a pronoun or two nouns, as in "Is bean me"-- I am a woman. Sorry for the lack of fada! I can't do accent marks in Internet Explorer.

  • Thank you for posting your videos, don't stop! I think it's so much easier to pick up whole sayings/phrases from someone who knows the language instead of trying to piece it together.

  • Is this a connact dialect? I think I spelled that right.

  • No, standardised

  • Chulia mé tú..!! :L Tá mise as Éire..!! Is feair caint as Gáilge...!!

  • That was some weird wild stuff. I know that celtic peoples are all over Europe, including Spain. My grandma is from Galicia and she speaks Gaelician great and sounds nothing like that. I wonder how the gauls (another celtic tribe from the actual France)before the Romans imposed latin. Keep it going, it´s a beatiful language and keep it irish. I`m not irish, but the irishes I met are great people!!!!

  • I have spent several hours enthtralled with the vidoes of this nice young lady speaking Irish. My girlfriend is taking Irish classes here in the Boston area and actually used it recently on Cape Cod to our Irish waitress...keep them coming...

  • 1:13 uuuuu :)

lovely video from a lovely girl! thatx for givin us a few words from the most beautiful language in the world! happy valentines!

    all the best!

  • Jes if your video on Valentines Day inspired a English-Irish poem, would you like to see it sometime?

  • I would of course. :)

  • I sent it, not sure if I really sent though... Im still getting used to youtube. I rarely come on here anymore.

  • Fair play to you! We all have a duty to save our language. The blood of generations of irish rebels runs in our veins. They died for the freedom and right to our culture. Erin Go Brath

  • thank you for doing these videos. I enjiy hearing you speak.

  • maith thú! go raibh maith agat!

  • Right correction time.

During your video 1:48, you said ''Is tú mo anam chara'' firstly if your using ''mo'' and ''do'' which means my and your if the following word begins with a Vowel (A E I O U) the mo changes to m' so its ''Is tú m'anamchara''

  • Well done.

  • You have a thick skin girl, keep it up and ignore the foul idiots who make filthy

    comments.

    le do thoile!

  • ppwn3r Are you just jellous because she is a proper human being, and your just a piece of shit with no friends or girlfriend. Anyway enough time wased on this fool, thank you for your videos Ive enjoyed the ones Ive watched.

  • Dear ppwn3r

    You are very jealous:)

    You are very sad:)

I've been speaking irish all my life

    Its not easy to learn!

    So leave her alone:)

She's doind a great job keeping the irish language up!

  • That's a disgusting thing to say to anyone. Did you just pick the girl randomly? What did she ever do to you? You must not have much of a life if you feel the need to use such childish attention-seeking behaviour. Grow up.

  • Mikey30367 you are so right...I can't beleive the amount of filthy, profanity filled derogitry comments people make.....all jesjes1 is doing is giving us a taste of the irish world and her world....I being from ireland and fluent in irish, can see her reasons for it.....I'm only 14yo's and yet i see people aged 20 and over saying these things....It really puzzles me as to why they even bother watching and commenting these video's...PPWN3R...your 22 fucking years old....go get a life you loser

  • fasdfasdfasdf

  • You are awesome!! My kind of woman!!! Keep it up.

  • I am in love with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i am so glad i found your videos they will help me along with my first steps in learning irish. post more! go raibh maith agat!

  • Thanks! Me and my wife are celebrating our 1st anniversary on Sunday! It will be fun and original to tell her that I love her in Irish! :-D (I am from Israel, she is from Denmark, and we are both big Ireland-fans) :-)

  • P.S. how du you say "I have a weakness for redheads"? ;-)

  • You have to be the perfect voice around speakers in a documentation.

Irish sounds wonderful! Greets from Germany.

  • You have up topth abouts the most amazing voice i have ever heard. Simply put.

  • is the "ta" or "is" male and female uses of the word? Like he or she?

  • Nope, though there is male and female words in the irish language, the dont have to be prefixed with ta or is, rather they change their sounds when bring said. Tá is kinda like The. Same for is... its hard to explain really!

    Sorry!

  • haha it's ok! thanks anyways though! :)

  • Sorry I amnt of more help, sometimes know how to say something but not why you know how to say it... is a bit mad.

  • it's cool! I'm just really happy that you posted these videos on youtube, because I've been trying to say "Nollaig shona duit" and other random irish nonsense but have not had any kind of prononciation guide. your videos are kickass. I'm a fan. :)

peace from half a world away!

  • Thanks :) Nice to know I'm at least helping someone! ;)

  • Tá and Is are present forms of the verb 'to be'. Tá you use to say HOW you are e.g Tá mé go maith...(I'm good) Is for WHAT you are Is Gaeilgeoir mé... I'm an Irish speaker. So, for example Tá an gluaisteán dearg (The car is red)

and Is gluaisteán dearg é (It is a red car)

Hope that helps a little! Any other questions re Gaeilge, I'm the nerd to ask (:

  • that's not modern! That's an abomination! lol. Ah, I guess it just wouldnt make sense to me because I've spoken in irish for so long. But it works! :)

  • how do you say "SUCK MY BALLS"

  • Diúil do mhagairlí.

  • He means: An bhfuil chead agam diúil do mhagairlí.

Sportymike, that'd be closer to the correct thing,r ight?

  • Sainmhíniú uamhnach. Hope that is right. This is so hard to figure out. All I have is a Irish to English dictionary. Keep the videos coming. :o)

  • I´ve learnt a lot just by watching your videos.keep it up.thanks a millon;)

  • WOW your good

  • Gura maith't a jesjes. Is fearr liom "Mo cheol thú" nó "Mo cheapaire thú"!
