  • When at shows, I would regularly see Jim and Jet in the dog CC line up. What a dog! He is amazing! I love my flatties and showing them is great - their tails never stop wagging. So next time someone says dogs don't enjoy showing, watch a show flat coat - you will be proven wrong! Jet is a perfect example of a flattie both in temperament, a wagging tail and in looks!

  • The best dog won imo! Jet is absolutely gorgeous and he has the most wonderful personality! I wanted him to win ever since he stepped into the Gundog ring! He's certainly enjoying himself! :)

  • I was rooting for the German Shepherd.

  • Look at all them poor dogs ...being pulled around like toys and for want someone ego !! ..should be ashamed of them self !!

  • @yousuckdonkeydick69 well not really, look at Jets tail all the way through the video, its wagging. And from what i've been told, a dogs tail wagging usually means they're happy. And honestly all the others dogs probably dont care, they're getting treats and socialising with other dogs at the same time so i dont quite see why showing isn't good. Also the dogs are kept in top condition making them much healthier than most pet dogs anyway!

  • love crufts

  • Brilliant win, gorgeous dog and so happy in the ring!! Well deserved!!

  • I just flat coated retrievers - they are my breed. And all I have ever heard about Jim and Jet has been wonderful. He looks marvelous for 9 1/2 years old. May he continue to have fun showing. Owner handled to BIS at Crufts is quite an achievement - YAY!!!

  • Does anyone else believe that when it comes to great quality show dogs, Swedish breeders are the very best? I don't know how they do it, but the damn Swedes always produce the best specimens no matter what breed! Is it the food they give or are they just smarter when it comes to genetics??

  • @LewisTheDogue sigh.... That documentary was extremely bias. Most show dogs are very healthy and most show breeders are very reputable, of course there are people in it for the wrong reasons - I have shown myself and seen what happens - but I can honestly say that most of the breeders are reputable and care very much for their dogs and their lines.

  • @xxxambyangelxxx It can't be biased.... EVERY survey done to compare pure bred dogs to cross breeds shows that cross breeds are on average Healthier and more intelligent.

  • @stev1212 So not true. The majority of pure breds are bred by idiots who think breeding their family pet is okay and greedy puppy mills - obviously these dogs have a very high risk of being unhealthy and having mental problems - from dogs being bred that aren't health tested, pedigree's not known and researched to pick the most suitable pair. That's the same as crossbreeds - no health tests, no background known. Reputable breeders health test and breed the best to create superior offspring.

  • @stev1212 btw I have 1 retired show dog and 2 crossbreeds, one being a rescue so I am not just saying that because I only have purebred dogs.

  • i was there and its so much better sitting in the arena. that place is HUGE

  • I can remember the dog from the barbershop... It was a flatcoat as well ^^ We grew up together, came there practically every month. Always played with him.. Too bad that's like at least 18 years ago and he's been gone since he was 14. I still miss him sometimes.

  • 9 yr old winning is dubious if you ask me !

  • Amazing dogs, magnificent work handlers!

  • Wow, what a fantastic dog! I have always had flatcoats, they are fantastic dogs! A lot of work but totally worth it.

    Well done Jet!

  • I've got two sons. One's a black and the other a liver colour who is a real beauty. He is limping on both of his front legs but tries to pretend he can run around like a youngen. He's coming up to 8 and I'll be devastated if the vet says it's serious. These flatcoats demand a lot of attention but they are well worth it. They have brought a lot of joy in my life. Great family dogs. I hope this win will increase the popularity of the bread as you don't see too many flatcoats about.

  • @DJAcappellaFella 8 yrs old and already lame ?? wow thats some great breeding then !

  • Bravo! 8.5 years says a heck of a lot!
