  • hahahahaha isn funny at the end

  • how do you make it so smooth can u look at mine and tell me wat i can do please !!

  • That was awesome man! That must've taken a while.

  • did you use an armature?

  • i enjoyed this :)

  • what the title of the song????

  • that is really hard to make

  • this is a respectible vid. i like it. and it was exicuted well.

  • that was crap

  • any constructive criticism???

p.s. my newer stuff is a lot better than this as I had 10 hours to make this one, and it was 3 years ago.

  • not bad !

  • GRAPEHIMSELF ID LIKE TO SEE YOU DO BETTER. CRITIC. One more poor on the thumb

  • OMG NAPOLEON DYNAMITE MUSIC@! form his dance scene right? saw it for the 18th time the other day great movie

  • how do you get 25 frames per sec????

  • Awesome. The ending the best. Too much of anything is bad.

  • I liked it, I thought it was good, only criticism I make is that you should have edited it a bit tighter on the end, as soon as he gets rolled over you shouldn't have such a pause, a gap, that needs to be tighter there because you've given the puch line, which I thought was funny, good stuff, but there's too much time after that shot of your character lying there....it feels a bit too long....but good stuff...well done, loved the subtle foot tapping right at the begining....

  • I agree.

When I made this I had to edit it within 20 minutes and I had very little experience with timing in film at that point.

My more recent films have much better editing throughout.

    Thanks for the feedback.

  • lol the napolien dynamite dance song!

  • that was terrible

  • u make it!

  • i hung it from nylon thread :)

  • i KNEW WHATTHIS SONG WAS RIGHT WHEN THE VIDEO STARTED. LOLZ. PS HOW DO YOU MAKE THE CLAY FLOAT LIKE THAT? CAN YOU PLZ TELL ME?

  • i wish i had the patience to make a long claymation!;(

    Very good! 5/5

  • gees 5/5

  • lol that rubberband ball is huge nice vid

  • i like how ur human figures are do u use armatures?

  • Yeah, but Im still trying to find one thats right for me, as I dont use any expert equipment to hold the character up.

  • Nice!

  • Very good timing. Great animation.

  • Wow! That only took 10 hours?!?!? My stop motions take like 5, but they arent even close to this level. Nice job!

  • You are awesome.

Where do you go to school that lets you do stop-motions..?

  • lol he got flatend this is awsome

  • Another great video.

    Thanks for sharing it.

  • ha ha

  • bravo 5/5 i thought he was going to dance at first lol

  • for 10 hours of work you really have done a descent/fair job... although it looks like you have had a bit of experience ill have to clap for you in this one... atm im doing resin casted figures with like real sets and stuff so hopefully it turns out oright... lol you use alot of tricks to limit your photo count... haha nice

  • for 10 hours of work you really have done a descent/fair job... although it looks like you have had a bit of experience ill have to clap for you in this one... atm im doing resin casted figures with like real sets and stuff so hopefully it turns out oright... lol you use alot of tricks to limit your photo count... haha nice

  • lol

  • very intertaining

  • klllllllll, do u use movie maker or not/ and if not wht do u use

  • i use a Mac with iMovie

  • i dont realy have money to spare though : (

  • wow i can't believe you were aloud to do this for your gcse art exam! Awesome! i had mine recently, I just painted a canvas and made it a bit 3D lol!

  • Thats what most people were doing but then I noticed the alternative media section on the exam paper : )

  • absolutly amazing!

  • Great Film. Do you use armutuers? Flower pot Animations

  • yep, but im having trouble finding the right type of alluminium wire, so in this one the wire was a bit too stiff.

  • How to Bounce the Ball ?

  • i hang the balls from nylon thread.

  • I thought thats how you do it!

  • awesome

  • AMAZING!

  • Brilliant. A work of art.

  • How do you make them stay in the air?

  • i hung them from nylon thread

  • i supposed its alot eaiser when its something little like that.

Does plastacine hold up to nylon?

because the clay that ive used gets cut from the string.

Though i suppose its alot easier when the object is small like the rubber band ball you had

  • yeah, o this occasion it wasnt too had but if i was say lifting a character i would have to do it very fast efore his arms or whatever was sliced off.

  • Yeah, thats what happened to me when i did mine.

but besides all that, your character modelling is pretty good

  • that vid was the best vid i have seen

  • nice, i dunno how you made them stay in the air but its cooool

  • I did the eyes closing, (only 4 frames or so) duplicated those frames and reversed them accordingly. It was pretty simple really.

  • OMG that was incredible!!! hahaa =]

poor guy, he got squished!! =]

    xx

  • nice video look at my video responce it is me making a rubber band ball check it out!

  • lrofl, he got squished =] *DANCE!*

  • lmfao!

  • i love your movies!

  • cool

  • Good Work Incredible for only 10 hours!!! :).

Would anyone mind taking a look and perhaps commenting on my cutout animation?

    Search:

    marfark

and it's called free ride. Watch, rate, comment!

  • whoo music from Napoleon Dynamite i love that movie.

    and your videos! :)

  • lol. Very cool clay-mation! Check out my very popular stop-motion! Ranging from wrestling to rocky to family guy to simpsons to marvel to star wars and more! Subscribe too! Thanks! Enjoy!

  • dude excellent work.9/10 check out my claymations/dry erase animations.

  • wow u r really good!

  • LOL XD i love this song

  • Hey what kind of clay is the best for stop motion animation???

  • Not sure which is the best but i use Newplast which works well.

  • stop exactly at 00:42 and then look carefully at his head. you can see a string ( that is how he makes the ball bounce). By the way great video

  • Yeah, it really annoys me that you can see that, if i had had more time i wouldve edited it out.

  • that whas flipin awsome, i wish i ca do what you can do :)

  • bravo well done, the eye blinks and the hands

  • wow cool vid 5/5 for me wat song is that by the way

  • canned heat by jamiroquai. : )

  • Well done max i did't think any bits were rushed =)

  • GREAT JOB MAX!

  • thanks : )

  • Wow! =O

    Pretty cool claymation...very well animated

    -Krizo

  • nicely done, i beg you to tell me how you suspended the ball in mid air when he was bouncing it without any visable supports. thanks

  • I used nylon thead, if you look carefuly you can see it, to me it looks really obvious but thats just cos i know its there

  • GOOD JOB MAN

  • Hey man hows it going? I have finished my underwater clay animation, you should check it out and tell me what you think!

I decided to use nylon thread instead of the green sticks, it worked better : )

  • how did you make the rubber band ball bounce??

  • nylon thread through the plasticine to hold it up.

  • Clever! Thanks for replying! Great animation too i liked it. i am in the process of making an underwater stop motion film right now, when i am finished i will upload it onto youtube and give you the link! :)

  • wow underwater, sounds complicated... and frustrating

  • Yeah it sure is! I am using wooden sticks painted green to hold up the fish, then i use a green screen keyer from final cut pro to get rid of the sticks!

  • dude this would suck if u didnt do it in ten hours

    AWSOME!!!

  • this was okay.. try harder..I know I'm an ass

  • Do You Use Wire??

  • yeah, actualy in this animation you can see the wire quite allot because i was in a rush.

  • That Was Soo Cool!

I Bet You Got A++**** Lol

  • actualy i got my results today and i got an A*

  • A-star - the highest grade possible in a GCSE! Congratulations, I bet you knocked the examiner's socks off. :-)

  • this was funny i liked it

  • i'd never have the patience to spend that long doing a stop motion animation lol i get bored very quickly, which is why all mine r short ones hehe

    nice work!

  • how tall is the guy

  • Funny!

  • heehee

  • ive seen better! made by the same guy of course

  • what the name of that song ?

  • Canned heat, by Jamiroquai

  • Freaking awesome! What grade did you get?

  • great, do you want to work for somewhere like Aardmann or somewhere like that?

  • this was ok...

  • Was that a metaphor about mankind's self-destruction?

  • no, it was a man building a rubber band and being run over by it.

  • metaohor?... self destruction?... omfg what a hippy! Why does everything have to be so deep and have a meaning? why cant it just be a guy making a robber band bal and deing? i ber ur a democrat!

  • how much does it cost? (both) and thanks for my last answer

  • well the standard iStopmotion programme costs around £30 or something and you cant buy iMovie, it comes free on all macs with iLife.

  • cool thank you very much i'm getting ready to upload my own claymation film can you tell me what u think off it?

  • that shit wuz funny what kind of software did you use and what kind of camara and can you use this same method with hand drawn images

  • that shit wuzz funny what programs did you use and what kind of camara and can you do the same thing with hand drawn imeges?

  • To animate I use iStopmotion and to edit I use iMovie. I have never really tried drawn animation, I doubt I would be very good at it but I might give it a try sometime.

  • what is the song called

  • canned heat by jamiroquai

  • im gonna get a dv camcorder....and i have some questions..(im not gonna get anything else but the dv camcorder)....ok first question can i download the cd in the computer to edit and do voice overs?....second question....can i make a stop motion film and load it in the omputer thennn put it on youtube with nothing else?......do i need any connector things?

  • That was awesome

  • i find the best wire is medium soldering wire

  • that's great! What kind of armature did you use? was it homade or the custom joint ones? Ive tried making them out of wire but then its either so strong that i can't bend their arms and stuff, or it's too weak and i can't get them to stand up. thanks!

  • I used a home made armature which was made of single normal wire, this didnt work perfectly as it was a bit too strong so I often ended up moving the plasticine of the wire when moving the character.

  • awesomeeeeeeeeeee

  • Of all the entries in the animation contest so far, only yours are worth watching. You show attention to detail in the character design, take the time to make movements more lifelike etc. It's obvious when you rushed, though... the movement is so beautiful whenever you make sure to bend the arms and legs, it shows every time the character just slides around without arm and leg movement. Keep up the good work and don't forget to move the joints!

  • What animation contest :O? Have a look at Episode 3 of my animation :)

  • wow... amazing character!

  • what's the song called? please reply

  • canned heat by jamiroquai

  • Lol this is awesome man, good job!

  • That was so good...

  • I ment very very nice!

  • very ery nice!

  • Woooooww amazing

  • (cont...) If animating in room with windows or standing in front of lights, there's shadow changes, which might be reduced with brighter fill light. The bounce was well done (paint package might help clean wires if you aren't too busy! :) With some shots, combine known item to tie together (perhaps). ie. See him, then in 3 bands on floor pick up, have bit of foot in frame to let viewer know it's right next to him.

Hope you take the crits kindly!

    Really well done, keep going!

  • Im not using a PC, im using a Mac, but thats very helpful advice, the reason the light was rather flickery was because I was sitting next to a window with no blind in my 10 hour art exam

  • noticed the shadows too, looks very nice, realistic. Anyway, that song is still great xD

  • Like your work. Being picky (in the hope of helping)... I assume you're working images through PC, try a white balance setting on the background. You should find your images will shine a little brighter. Also, instead of white-box set, try an endless horizon with a large curved white card, so there are no seams (unless room effect is desired). The endless look allows viewer to focus on character even further. (more...)

  • napoleon dynamite!!!!!!

this is the song in the dance scene.

P.S i have the same program as you TheClayLord!!!

  • wait, it doesn't say you have an honor. anyways, great vid, nice animation, cool story line and reat clay modeling!

  • Don't know why the Honor thing went away - it was there yesterday! Maybe because of the music?

  • I love esp. the look on his face at the end... and the blink!

  • Very impressive stuff!

  • thanks : )
