OMG I feel so bad because I have 2 clawed toads! And a tree frog. I already knew about the fungis and golden toads being extinct( I love reading frog books),but I didn't know that the clawed toad's fungis was the cause for the beautiful golden toad to go extinct. If you wiki african clawed toads, you will read that infact they did actually escape from a lab like in horror movies.......Don't blame the clawed toads! It was the stupid scientists for letting down their guard! XD

@xx2josh2xx Thier not poisonous, its just that they discovered that if the clawed toads were injected with the urine of a pregant woman,the next day the toads would have laid hundreds of eggs the next day! So they took the toads here and just like the movies the scientists let their guard down and let the toads escape! And besides after they began selling them as pets(I have 2) but some iressponsible pet owners set them free when they were fully grown because they get big.. XD

well well 120 species exctinct, 1/3 of our amphibians indangered to the Chytrid Fungus. And once agian humans carelessly cause a another natural genocide. They introduced African species immune to the fungus into New world species by carelessly releasing them into lakes. Few things make me want to cry, but as a 19 year old dude, I shed a tear to the frogs now gone that I grew around. I always wanted to see a live golden toad, but sadly, that day may never come. Yes you are correct. Human kind have never witnessed adaptation and evolution on a Macro scale, but on a micro it can be seen. Let me ask you this, how do African Amphibians come in contact with Chytrid everyday without any harm, yet central american species are dying at an alarming rate because of chytrid?
