This video is true for the most part . Some will put a strike against your channel and your account will not be in good standing. If they decide to review several of your uploads and find more than one . It will cause your channel to be pulled. I have seen this happen to friends but only after the videos get many view counts . I think a boycott of these COPYRIGHT HOLDERS .... would make them think twice about getting nasty with those who only share their work.

@AljThe5 Up in the top right corner where you have your username you get a drop down menu when you click on it right? Click on video manager, it lists all your videos. If your audio has gone it will say audio disabled or, matched third party content or whatever. click on that and another page will load. Then it will say at the bottom "i want to learn more about dispute" Click that then click take me to dispute form then follow the rest of the instructions in this description box. :)

We had a GTA movie it had a copyright issue and the audio was muted, then we managed to sort the copyright and for like 30 minutes it was fine and then another complaint came and Youtube threatened to shut the channel down and removed the video which in my opinion is pretty stupid seeing as they made it work again.

that's because legally your video wasn't using fair use..flashing the act to them means you have to have the proper credentials to back up your dispute against their claims.

A video I made was flagged for possible copyright infringement because of an audio sound track I used. The audio was included in the video editing software I used to make the video, software that I purchased. I am in compliance with the software licensed which is for non-commercial use. @00RemakeGirls Youtube usually gives you a warning, a sort of "strike", three times before deleting your account. So, I don´t think you should worry about waking up to find your channel gone without a warning beforehand.

I'm a new uploader. I' ve just uploaded my first video. I followed this process as soon as I' ve finished uploading. I got a note from YouTube saying that a company claims copywrite infringement for it but I wouldn' t have to proceed to any further actions unless politics on the matter changes in the future. Isn' t there a typical procedure someone should follow in case of copywrite regardless the company and the nature of the claim? @nikgml Well, judging from my own experience this type of dispute only works with companies like WMG. I have two videoes featuring content which belongs to them and in both cases I disputed their copyright claim it worked. The videoes are still public with music and everything.

But when SMG put a copyright claim on one of my videoes, I tried to dispute the claim only to get the vid blocked (again) AND receiving a warning (if you get three warnings in total your channel will be deleted).

@nikgml So what I meant about there is a difference between the companies is that this type of dispute probably works on some companies (mainly WMG) and not on others.

And from what I have heard it also only works when it is music that are being copyrighted. Although TV and filmcompanies are usually not as aggressive as the music companies. Especially if the film in question is shown in a non-linear fashion, like if you have edited it into a musicvideo.

@nikgml Sometimes you will encounter a copyright claim that doesn´t block your video or anything. This means that whoever owns the material only wants to point out that the content rightfully belongs to them but otherwise has no objections against its usage. As long you don´t make any money of it of course:)

My advise when you encounter those type of claims is to do nothing. As long your video isn´t banned or anyything I can´t really see what the problem is.

@nikgml So my general advise is if you want to stay (mostly) on the safe side: Only this type of dispute against companies like WMG and do not use it against a film or other types of footage that has been blocked or banned.
