I have the same tractor. 2005 year. It dawned on me that I have not done any maintenance to the tranny.

All hydros will do that a little bit but it should no move that fast

I buyed a new transaxle for my craftsman lt 2000 model # 917.275760

only problem i put the new transaxle on and it  won't go forward or reverse

engine runs really well. but won't move forward or reverse.

@justicerobbie67 On a hydrostatic transmission there is a switch that will disengage the transmission so you can free wheel the mower, or push the mower by hand. If this switch is in the disengage mode, than the transmission will not work. You might want to double check that....
