Actually your wrong. It's not supposed to be slow. The momentum is used to stretch the back and support blood flow. your supposed to swing it back and forth, not stop, or slow down each rep.

actually it depends on ur intention...louie simmons advices u 2 swing it back and forth however for strength purposes...which is the main purpose of this machine...a person shud concentrate on using glute hamstring and low back muscle 2 pull it foward without assistance 4rm the foward motion...louie simmons is also not qaulified enough to be prescribing rehabilitory exercises for the back since he isnt a doctor
Well "doctors" told him he'd never lift again after breaking his back squatting 500.He didn't listen, invented this machine,used it and at age 53 squatted 930lbs 6th best squat in the world.
