Se dice que la canción ya la tenia lo que él hizo fue bautizarla con el nombre de la esposa del gobernador (Maria Elena)para poder salir del embrollo en el que estaba. Cuando uno escucha la letra de la canción nunca dice nada sobre Maria Elena efectivamente.Saludos desde la tierra poblana

Y estando con el Entonces gobernador este ya alcoholizado y prepotente además de cruel le pidió que le compusiera una canción a su esposa a lo que lorenzo dijo que eso sería algo dificilya que el debía tener inspiración y debia tomarse algo de tiempo, pero el gobernador le dijo que no le importaba y si lo que quería era tiempo pues entonces se lo dba y le encerró en el baño bajo pena de muerte que si al salir no tenía una canción para su esposa, cuando salió pues tenía esta melodía, (otro post)

Esta melodía efectivamente es de un compositor mexicano Llamado Lorenzo Barcelata y tiene una historia algo curiosa con el nombre de la misma melodia Maria Elena, cuenta la leyenda urbana en Puebla que en los años 40´s siglo 20 hubo un gobernador en este estado y que es el mismo en el que se inspiraron para hacer la película Arrancame La Vida y que a su vez fue hermano de un Presidente de Mexico llamado Manuel Avila Camacho, dicen que en cierta ocasión vino a Puebla Lorenzo (Sigo en otro post)
