  • Sorry, folks, but I LIKE meat. Don't own a car---don't drive...don't have cable---don't do a LOT of harmful things. Will kill you if you touch my plate. If eating meat is the worst thing I do then I get a good seat in Heaven. Peace.

  • Ok. This party really needs to go Abolitionist!!! They are falling behind on real ethics. They sound if the meat industry goes back to the size as it used to be 100 years ago, that would totally cut down the footprint, but by no means would be ethical.

    GO VEGAN AND PEACE IN!

  • Those who eat meat could choose to expand their awareness of the actual price. I am trying. Less times a week, smaller portions, grass fed, no antibiotics, and so on. Would help environment and health.

  • I wonder if liberals would oppose abortion if it was proven to be bad for the environment.

  • @Edgehead10075 I wonder if conservatives would oppose "Drill Baby Drill" if it was proven to be bad for the environment.

  • I just LOVE eating meat. It's so tasty!

  • You actually don't need any grains to feed cows. This argument is fucking stupid.

  • @OhmgrownCron Yea, the problem isn't really meat, it's cheap meat.

  • @OhmgrownCron You don't need to feed cows grain if they have a large pasture to graze in, but the land is more efficiently used if it is used to grow grain. As a result most meat comes from factory farms, in which they feed the cattle grains because it is cheaper and requires less land.

  • @crazycanuck34 Its more efficient but unsustainable.

  • @OhmgrownCron Yes, as everyone knows, animals in farm are fed with sunlight. It seems to me that you are fucking stupid.

  • @Stupidxxxx It's called grass, you know? That green stuff that grows everywhere. Cows eat that and don't need grains like corn. It seems to me that YOU are fucking stupid.

  • @OhmgrownCron Yeah, sure there's enough grass on earth to feed billions of farm animals. Someone should really tell the farmers that they don't have to feed grains. *facepalm*

  • @Stupidxxxx Maybe, I don't know. I never made that argument. Some farmers feed their cows grains to fatten them up and sell them for more.

  • @OhmgrownCron their would be just farms if we were to raise all our meat the way u suggest.. i believe its the better way and i agree with u ..however... the farms couldnt afford to have as many cows living that way.. the land would cost too much and the meat woudl not be saleable soon enuugh to make money.

  • @OhmgrownCron SO what do u feed them? grass hay... same idea ...and the animals we they are talking about feeding are not freely roaming in feilds grazing on food. they live most of their lives tied or confined in a barn... also another reason they need so many vaccines...livng in wrong conditions....and they are grain feed....there is more of them per acre than plants to eat...the plants cant regrow and it would take too much land to house them.. so the farmers feed gain lol

  • @OhmgrownCron It's true that you don't need any grains to feed cows. Their optimal source of food would be grass, but unfortunately that does even more damage to the worlds ecosystem. The truth is that the world cannot maintain its current level of meat consumption.

  • This is so dumb do you think animals would go away if we stopped eating them? No they would increase and produce more of all these problems this video is talking about. Why do you think at deer season they let them take more deers in some seasons? To cut down on population.

  • @eman17j The video says the problem comes from livestock farming. Are deer going to start a livestock farm if we let them roam free? I doubt it.

  • @SandBarAndYou that was the whole point retard. do you think people would keep all these livestock fenced in if they werent using them for food. no they would roam free and then their population would begin to increase. Ever heard of the buffalo use to roam free had a large population until they were almost hunted out of existence both you and cassioam should learn how quit thinking like retards and understand what a corollary is.

  • @eman17j I think you need to read up on the carrying capacity of ecosystems. If you believe the same peice of land we read livestock on, could support the same livestock at the same density, without external factors, then I'm afriad you're quite simply wrong. On top of that, if you believe there are less livestock alive today, than there would be if they were allowed to roam and breed freely in their natural habitats, including habitat that has now become urban, then you're wrong again.

  • @eman17j wow, that is maybe the dumbest comment I've seen in 2011. Just a piece of advice: think and reason for 2 minutes before you start typing whatever is in your head. Believe me, it will make you look better.

  • Bill mahers a Actor?

  • We eat the beef but ti gets the last laugh. It puts us in the coronary units...eventually. Enjoy!

  • This is why I eat grass-fed beef.

  • @KorionDotNet Grass fed beef take longer to 'finish', and each day they live, due to their diet, the produce more methane than a grain fed animal. That means they are producing more methane which is 25x more harmful than carbon dioxide. Your grass fed beef is more damaging to the environment that a feedlot animal. However, the feedlot animal causes more water pollution and pesticide pollution, so it's harmful choice either way.

  • This isn't a problem for tribal societies who hunt animals for meat, who are lean, and they end up consuming every part of it either for food or for something else...cows that are grass fed don't contribute to this problem the way grain-fed livestock do. Eating meat has gone way awry, you are only suppose to eat max of 6 oz. of a type of meat a day and only once a week it's recommended to eat beef, the other 6 days it's suppose to be chicken or fish.

  • What the fuck is Marianne Thieme doing there? What's up with all those Dutch politicians being all over the globe?

  • first it was cars, then cut trees, and here it's too much livestock...

....and Bill Gates has a seminar stating that the carbon emitions is from too many humans on the planet exhaling...

oohh the dark interweb of confusion is grand and powerful!

  • @tacomonster98 oh wait I forgot to mention plankton ooohhh

  • if they eat animals they can eat my meat so :S be vegetarian of eat me

  • The United States is a non-smoking nation! No smoking, no drugs, no alcohol, no women - unless you're married - no foul language, no red meat!... sounds like a shitty movie...

  • @subliminalpain Home of the free.

  • @subliminalpain - I'm female but that was very funny.

  • I'll give up meat when Bill Maher gives up prostitutes. (or maybe just cocaine) I won't hold my breath though.

  • @cano21 Do you have once source which states that Maher uses cocaine or pays prostitutes? I have never heard of it before.

And what has one thing to do with each other?

  • @wittyvegan Even if he does... Who cares? America is all about freedom isn't it?

  • I would think that he'd have to pay prostitutes. How else would he have sex?
