@mfs10131 It means you need a reservation for that train. Amtrak used to have "open" tickets and some trains were unreserved trains (Usually off peak travel times) Any of the unreserved trains you can use the "open" ticket, but if the train has an "R" beside it, you have to have a ticket for that specific train. I believe that all Amtrak trains in the northeast corridor (Boston MA-Newport News VA) are reserved now
I go to 30th Street Station all of the time, that sound is very old-fashioned and reassuring. The limestone that lines the stairwells is potmarked, know why?
I was told it's because that style of limestone is riddled with fossils that wear away much faster than limestone, most of the openings are small, though some are about as big as a dime.
What was the R for on each train?
