@Tkulhanci703 Just noticed what you mean about the tunnel from Ronin, good find. Though wasn't Ronin shot in Nice? Not a big enough Transporter fan to get the location from that film though.
When I first saw this film in the cinema in Edinburgh, Scotland, I thought this sequence was played to "Vengeance" by New Model Army. Then later when I saw it on TV in UK, I heard an Art of Noise track played. Is my memory going or was some clever customisation going on?
Im a huge fan of Luc Besson. I think some of his films are brilliant, especially Nikita. I just love the way this film is shot. Its heavily stylised, something you will never see sooo well done in Hollywood. The music is ace! The rhythm is perfect.
Not knocking Eric Serra in general, but Lambert's character is way too cool to get all excited about finding this music track. When first shown on UK TV, the music he found was Propaganda's 'The Murder of Love', which suited the scene so much better.
Would love to know the story behind this change of opening track, can anyone oblige?
This was my first ever foreign language film, have been to Paris many times on the basis of how cool this movie was.Saw it when I was 13, made a big impression on me!
For those of you who would find this kind of information interesting, the market that they crash into, still goes on each week. That area is lovely, my aunt lives there. Oh, and great movie! Well, at least in French :p.
Haha! Love how the peugot looks in this movie, its just so cool and simple. Whit the right driver that peugot whould have owned the slow ass mercedes bigtime
i find it amusing that the famous car chase through Paris in the film Ronin goes through two of the same parts in this chase (the tunnel, and under the elevated bridge).
also just wondering, what is this movie about? it looks so weird, the guy in the Peugoet looks like Danny Elfman, and who the hell are these dudes in tuxedoes chasing him???
The guy in the Peugeot is Christopher Lambert (who played the the lead in Highlander). He plays a petty criminal who gate crashes a cocktail party and steals some important documents from the host's safe. This is his getaway pursued by some of the hosts employees who were also at the cocktail party - hence the tuxedoes. He ends up hiding out in the Paris subway network for most of the film - hence the title. It's a fantastic movie and I highly recommend it if you get the chance.
Looks like Christopher Lambert before the Highlander days in the piss pot. I don't know where the Chuck Norris comes in.....There are no weapons of any sort other than the crappy sound track. Poor chase and crappy song. I'm looking forward to picking this up on VHS at my local Value Village.
not correct music, this is US release music, French release had track Victim of you love, band unknown that film was cut to fit,it is much better, will post asap.

In Sweden the original soundtrack to this scene was "The murder of love" with Propaganda. On the DVD release it had this crap music.
