  • Peugeot 205GTi - PERFECT for the job!

  • at least its not in britain lol

  • la 405 fai pas le poid!!!!

  • DONT FUCK WITH CHUCK NORRIS!!!

  • Same tunnel as ronin and same bridge/building/street is transporter

  • @Tkulhanci703 Just noticed what you mean about the tunnel from Ronin, good find. Though wasn't Ronin shot in Nice? Not a big enough Transporter fan to get the location from that film though.

  • Chuck Norris driving the Benz???

  • going through the same tunnel in Ronin

  • ja dorre

  • In Sweden the original soundtrack to this scene was "The murder of love" with Propaganda. On the DVD release it had this crap music.

  • @Copyrajt Yeah, the Propaganda version is WAY more aweseome than this shite...

  • When I first saw this film in the cinema in Edinburgh, Scotland, I thought this sequence was played to "Vengeance" by New Model Army. Then later when I saw it on TV in UK, I heard an Art of Noise track played. Is my memory going or was some clever customisation going on?

  • great song and a great movie

adjani was very hot in this movie

  • ha ha 205 GTI et le tunnel des halles ! so cool !

  • @cyrilconnection Je suis passé là y a 15 jours,je te laisse me dire la voiture,la musique!!!!

  • Im a huge fan of Luc Besson. I think some of his films are brilliant, especially Nikita. I just love the way this film is shot. Its heavily stylised, something you will never see sooo well done in Hollywood. The music is ace! The rhythm is perfect.

  • Original version was actually musiced by Propaganda. I liked more than this.

  • Hi northernstudio

Not knocking Eric Serra in general, but Lambert's character is way too cool to get all excited about finding this music track. When first shown on UK TV, the music he found was Propaganda's 'The Murder of Love', which suited the scene so much better.

Would love to know the story behind this change of opening track, can anyone oblige?

  • @yampymusic

i too have a copy of this on vhs with propoganda as the chase music - no idea why it was changed though - shame.

  • This was my first ever foreign language film, have been to Paris many times on the basis of how cool this movie was.Saw it when I was 13, made a big impression on me!

  • looks liek hes being chased by a choir quartet

  • My first car was a Peugeot 205 like this one. My pals called it the 2-O-fighter.

Oh, I almost forgot - great movie.

  • @Sektor71 Don't lie. Everyone laughed at you cus it was BROWN!

  • For those of you who would find this kind of information interesting, the market that they crash into, still goes on each week. That area is lovely, my aunt lives there. Oh, and great movie! Well, at least in French :p.

  • a great film from when besson was a great director

  • lame tunage

  • fake ass Ronin! lol

  • @TheDarrell76 this is 1985 judging fro the title ! and its the same director as ronin so your wrong

  • @lukeshytalker02 It was a joke , but still a fake ronin

  • this is fucking stupid.

  • They weren't chasing us until you put on that getaway music!

  • Haha! Love how the peugot looks in this movie, its just so cool and simple. Whit the right driver that peugot whould have owned the slow ass mercedes bigtime

  • hi

    are you a french?

    do you know paris?

if lambert is a fag you're just a twat

this movie is not for you

  • Comment removed

  • hmm wheres thats tape...aha! ok now we can have a car chase XD

  • Lame aspect ratio.

  • i find it amusing that the famous car chase through Paris in the film Ronin goes through two of the same parts in this chase (the tunnel, and under the elevated bridge).

also just wondering, what is this movie about? it looks so weird, the guy in the Peugoet looks like Danny Elfman, and who the hell are these dudes in tuxedoes chasing him???

  • The guy in the Peugeot is Christopher Lambert (who played the the lead in Highlander). He plays a petty criminal who gate crashes a cocktail party and steals some important documents from the host's safe. This is his getaway pursued by some of the hosts employees who were also at the cocktail party - hence the tuxedoes. He ends up hiding out in the Paris subway network for most of the film - hence the title. It's a fantastic movie and I highly recommend it if you get the chance.

  • Looks like Christopher Lambert before the Highlander days in the piss pot. I don't know where the Chuck Norris comes in.....There are no weapons of any sort other than the crappy sound track. Poor chase and crappy song. I'm looking forward to picking this up on VHS at my local Value Village.

  • I've seen a version of this scene where they use Propaganda's "The Murder Of Love" as the soundtrack instead.

  • What's The title of the Song?

  • Speedway from the Soundtrack "Subway" by Eric Serra. Serra also composed the music for Goldeneye.

  • The peugeot 1.9gti would have left that mercedes at the first corner if he pulled off the motorway....the gti featured here is the 1.6gti

  • Yes !

Actually the 1.9l version (that i own !) didn't apear before the end of 1986 wheras the movie came out in 1985 ... :-)

("présentée en octobre 1986 et commercialisée en décembre 1986")

  • well i drive that car The Mercedes Benz 1984 300 SEL I believe i have done some much with that even new cars are afraid when they see me,,,

  • ok for crusing along the motorway but if that pug is the 1.9 gti it would seriously give a big merc like that a run for its money.

  • wtf the old man is a freak

  • In fact, the whole thing predates Ronin, apart from the lack of traffic, and vomit.

  • Hahaha... "Wait, I need to stop..." [Sam]

  • That's defo the same tunnel sequence as Ronin and things wouldn't have changed that much as most of the time the French would have been on strike.

  • great Looking mb 500sel

  • unbeliveable... theres no traffic in paris.

  • lol ! maybe it is early ! or during the summer in August the city is empty this time.

  • Why it's none other than Mr. Chuck Norris! back in the 80's!! lol This was on E4 afew nights back! lmao

  • Noriss what doing you here XD

  • wow that tunnel they went through looks like same exact one from the chase in Ronin

  • yeah, I noticed too;) I compared the two, but between Ronin and Subway stands 13 years so things have changed 'round there I think..

  • The Merc is a 1980 500 SEL, With the large 5.0 litre v8 believe it or not, the badge is actually visible on the movie screen

  • What year and model is that mercdes?

  • The Mercedes must be a diesel...

  • you cant enjoy a good chase without some cracker ass music like this shit

  • Its not the original song

  • Yes it is the Original song.

  • are u norwegaen? u said kult inseead cool kult is cool on norwegaen

  • see SUBWAY car chase RARE correct music, to see this as it was released in 1985.

  • not correct music, this is US release music, French release had track Victim of you love, band unknown that film was cut to fit,it is much better, will post asap.

  • Never saw this one before. Are the Benz and the 205 actually that close in overall performance?

  • as this was the 1.9 205 gti yes

  • 1.6 gti early model of year 1984 (square gearknob) and with custom grey sidelines.

  • The same tunnels as used in the Paris chase in Ronin!

  • the car sounds really nice.

  • i like this song! what's it called?

  • Eric Serra's "chase" I think. Serra also tried scoring Bond Golden Eye...note I said "tried" lol.

  • Pure brilliance - thank you so much for uploading this!

  • Reminds me a little bit of driving in my brothers 205 XS with 90bhp. Love Luc Besson Movies!!!

  • peugeot 205 all the way!

  • pretty good chase

  • An iconic beginning to a great movie. Love the amateur bad guy who throws up at the end - ever seen The Transporter?

  • thank you dude

  • "It's only Mystery" by Eric Serra. I think the black dude singing it is Arthur Simms, but I'm not sure. Hope this helps!

  • i watched this movie last week ! awesome !!

can who tell me the name from the black man whos singin in the showdown of the movie or the name of this song ?

  • what movie is it from?

  • "Metro" or "Subway" 1985

  • 205 GTi 1.6 105ch ;-)
