Hey folks, thanks for posting your videos. I'm sorry for your loss. What a great way to celebrate Jesse's life.
I was interested because I tried this hike a few years ago, and couldn't find the route. I don't think we got off the trail at the right spot, never found the mine or goat trail, and did a lot of bushwhacking before giving up. Have you been up there before? Or do you have a good route description? Of course the video itself is a great guide.
We had never been up there before. They attempted it in 2007, I wasn't with then, but got about 400 vertical feet from the top and had to turn back. I'll try to remember to ask my dad where he got his route description when I'm there over Christmas. We did reach the top in the wrong spot, but you're supposed to be able to go from the point to the peak along the ridge so we were still able to get to the point.
I wasn't able to get too much that was useful out of my dad and brothers. I can tell you that we left the trail at the rocky outcrop just before you get to the head of Lake Josephine. You can see it on part 1 and it's visible on Google maps and Google Earth. Then basically you want to go as much up as possible until you get to the grassy ramp. That should take you to the mine.
