Sure their physical attributes make them ideal for it but thats only because they have so much canine athletism and game. My girls a working machine, loves every minute of it. My pitbull is 5 months and just 34 pounds, she has some plumers generations-ago. she is a hardheaded bitch, that I just wouldn't or couldn't love more then i already do.
As far as BSL and all that garbage, i have a story. I was at the vet with my female German shepherd, and we were right next to a Pitbull. Both my GSD and the Pitbull were behaving very well and getting along w/each other! In a seat across from us, was a lady w/a Golden Lab that was so out of control, they had to move it to another room! Yet, ignorant people want to belive the Lab is perfect, and that GSD, Rott, Pit's etc are bad? Punish the deed, NOT the breed! Btw, nice video tribute to Pit's!

@npgiovani they are still bred for gameness in Pakistan & India, because they kept the original Hinks' EBTs brought to them by the British in the 1800s. I also know of two men that game breed them in the US and one in South America, though there could be more.
However, the Hinks' EBT was never meant to be game, it was originally bred for looks.

Bull Terriers are very underrated by the way. They can fight a hell of a lot better than pit bulls, are a lot stronger, and are solid like wood. So far I've never felt a pit bull as hard as a Bull Terrier. Well thats what I think anyway.

Bull Terrier are built for fighting if you look at the way they are designed, pit bulls are just underrated. Bull Terrier are solid like wood, pit bulls are no way near as solid.
Bull Terriers have egg heads so that the other dog can not bite their nose and hang on.
Face it, pit bulls are just too small to fight the bigger dogs. LGD's would kill them very quickly.

Pit bulls are overrated, simple as that. Don't get me wrong. Pit bulls are very good fighting dogs, but they are just too small. Even a Wolf would kill a pit bull easily, now imagine what a LGD which kills Wolves for a living would do to a little pit bull with no protective fur.
Pit bulls have no external protection as well. Most of the LGD breeds were bred to have protective fur, especially around the neck and back legs. The reason it has it around the neck is obvious, but the reason it has protective fur on the back legs is so it can fight TWO WOLVES AT ONCE. One Wolf will grab the neck, one will grab a leg, to hold it.
LGD's are built for fighting, even more than pit bulls. Even if a pit bull could beat it in a fight, it still can't bite thought its fur.
@bluegama500 right, but LSGs are DEFENSE ANIMALS, not FIGHTING animals. A CAO or a Sage Koochee or Kangal will not ACTIVELY SEEK OUT A FIGHT. They fight to defend their turf and then return to the property. Most encounters with LSGs and wolves/other predators do not even end in death, the animal will usually back off when it sees the dog. If there is a fight, it is because the wolf is so desperately hungry and malnutritioned that it will do just about anything for food.
@ConiferTreez Yes I know most encounters end with the Wolf being driven away. Only rarely do they fight. But when they do fight, the Wolf dies. That is still fighting.
It doesn't make a difference whether they are fighting defensively or offensively, they are still fighting, sometimes 2 Wolves at once.

LSGs don't love to fight, but they will to DEFEND their turf. Once the predator backs off, they retreat. Not so with a game dog.

If a dog is stocky is slow him down only in running speed, but there are breeds that a stocky yet also fast fighters. For example, staffies and Bull Terriers are stocky yet can move pretty fast when fighting.
Besides, how is a pitbull going to flip a stocky dog on its back? Stocky dogs are very hard to flip onto their backs.
A "real dog man" AKA dogfighters, have absolutly no(or barely) any knowlege about what makes a good fighting dog. Therefore they just go and buy(and breed) whats popular, the pitbull.
Pitbulls are just overrated. They can fight very good for their size, but they are no way near the best fighting dog.
Also, many pitbulls get grabbed on the nose while fighting. Therefore pitbulls lack a proper fighting dog nose(the round nose).

There was a video of a Wolf pup(probably around 9 months old) beating a pitbull on youtube. It was flagged though. The pitbull was attacking the Wolf pup and beating it, but while the WOlf was getting strangled on the neck, it was thinking about what moves it can use.
It then did a somersault-type move and spun around and grabbed hold of the pitbulls nose. The pitbull then gave up and started welping. I was suprised. I had never seen a dog pull such a move before.
there is no way that buck would have beaten zebo he was a undestructable pitt monster. but i will say if buck could have took zebo to the hour mark he might have a chance but i dont think he would have lasted that long,JMO
zebo was no doubt a better pitt dog than buck. Buck had super game and stamina but he would not have had time to prove it because zebo would have ended that match in about 33 min. JMO

Pitbulls don't think when they fight, they just go crazy. For example, Wolves think when they think, they think about the opponents weaknesses, moves it can use etc.

I may not agree with fighting em' but without them ever being tested you would not have the quality of pit on offer today especially people who have only used the best lines. check out "thetuffdog" for an idea, TAG is the man(dog).

If you see any dog fighting report it to the police. Let's make dog fighting a rare occurrence and let's save these dogs. It takes people and money to rehabilitate some of these dogs. As far as BSL and all that garbage, i have a story. I was at the vet with my female German shepherd, and we were right next to a Pitbull. Both my GSD and the Pitbull were behaving very well and getting along w/each other! In a seat across from us, was a lady w/a Golden Lab that was so out of control, they had to move it to another room! Yet, ignorant people want to belive the Lab is perfect, and that GSD, Rott, Pit's etc are bad? Punish the deed, NOT the breed! Btw, nice video tribute to Pit's!

@npgiovani they are still bred for gameness in Pakistan & India, because they kept the original Hinks' EBTs brought to them by the British in the 1800s. I also know of two men that game breed them in the US and one in South America, though there could be more.
However, the Hinks' EBT was never meant to be game, it was originally bred for looks.

Yes I can compare it to a dog. Livestock Guardian Dogs are bred to kill Wolves and do so when needed. This is why they are so large yet agile.

Livestock Guardian dogs may not have as much fighting skills as a Wolf but its just larger.
Size makes a huge difference, and pitbulls lack size.
No offense but since game bred pitbulls won't give up they will just get killed in no time.
Not all pitbulls though, individuals vary. Some are stronger than others. But I'm talking about pitbulls in general.
I've seen a staffy beat a Kangal once, but kangals are still just larger, stronger dogs than staffies.

@onnoww You sound retarded. You, mam, don't know shit about a game bred Pit. Ch. Boomerang was a solid fighter off of Davis', the very same dog man who bred the awesome Ch. Midnight Cowboy. Midnight Cowboy produced some very good male match dogs in Ch. Midnight Cowboy Jr., Ch. Brindlewood Girl, and Ch. Star. Tom Garner's Ch. Chinaman, Adam's Gr. Ch. Zebo, and Mountain's Ch. Homer were superb male match dogs with longevity wind. Those Pits would've destroyed Ch. Boomerang.

Bull Terrier are built for fighting if you look at the way they are designed, pit bulls are just underrated. Bull Terrier are solid like wood, pit bulls are no way near as solid.
Bull Terriers have egg heads so that the other dog can not bite their nose and hang on.

Anyway. When i watch bull terriers and pit bulls playfighting. I can tell the BT's have better fighting skills, they move around more, jump on the pit bulls, move their head etc.
When dogmen brought their pit bulls to Pakistan their pit bulls kept getting killed by the bigger dogs over there, so they left with their pit bulls.

Yes I do. I know about most breeds better than probably any idiot here. "gamedogs" are bred to be "game" which means to show formidable toughness, courage, speed, strength and overall fighting ability. And I admit, they have that. But what they lack is simply size. They won't stand a chance against a big LGD which has protective fur, much stronger jaws and is simply heavier.

Pit bulls are overrated, simple as that. Don't get me wrong. Pit bulls are very good fighting dogs, but they are just too small. Even a Wolf would kill a pit bull easily, now imagine what a LGD which kills Wolves for a living would do to a little pit bull with no protective fur.

Pit bulls have no external protection as well. Most of the LGD breeds were bred to have protective fur, especially around the neck and back legs. The reason it has it around the neck is obvious, but the reason it has protective fur on the back legs is so it can fight TWO WOLVES AT ONCE. One Wolf will grab the neck, one will grab a leg, to hold it.
LGD's are built for fighting, even more than pit bulls. Even if a pit bull could beat it in a fight, it still can't bite thought its fur.

@bluegama500 right, but LSGs are DEFENSE ANIMALS, not FIGHTING animals. A CAO or a Sage Koochee or Kangal will not ACTIVELY SEEK OUT A FIGHT. They fight to defend their turf and then return to the property. Most encounters with LSGs and wolves/other predators do not even end in death, the animal will usually back off when it sees the dog. If there is a fight, it is because the wolf is so desperately hungry and malnutritioned that it will do just about anything for food.

It doesn't make a difference whether they are fighting defensively or offensively, they are still fighting, sometimes 2 Wolves at once.

Breeding dogs for GAMENESS IN THE PIT is something completely different, a dead game bulldog will actively seek out a fight for no apparent reason just for the hell of it. and they love to fight. LSGs don't love to fight, but they will to DEFEND their turf. Once the predator backs off, they retreat. Not so with a game dog.

If a dog is stocky is slow him down only in running speed, but there are breeds that a stocky yet also fast fighters. For example, staffies and Bull Terriers are stocky yet can move pretty fast when fighting.
Besides, how is a pitbull going to flip a stocky dog on its back? Stocky dogs are very hard to flip onto their backs.

A "real dog man" AKA dogfighters, have absolutly no(or barely) any knowlege about what makes a good fighting dog. Therefore they just go and buy(and breed) whats popular, the pitbull.
Pitbulls are just overrated. They can fight very good for their size, but they are no way near the best fighting dog.
Also, many pitbulls get grabbed on the nose while fighting. Therefore pitbulls lack a proper fighting dog nose(the round nose).

There was a video of a Wolf pup(probably around 9 months old) beating a pitbull on youtube. It was flagged though. The pitbull was attacking the Wolf pup and beating it, but while the WOlf was getting strangled on the neck, it was thinking about what moves it can use.
It then did a somersault-type move and spun around and grabbed hold of the pitbulls nose. The pitbull then gave up and started welping. I was suprised. I had never seen a dog pull such a move before.
