  • Why dont you get into using software based samplers... they sound far superior to any hardware keyboard out there... the amount of memory alone that computer based samples can access is astronomical compared to any hardware synth... and the multi sampled sounds are huge and very realistic.

  • I REALLY enjoyed your demonstration. Some of it was a little over my head but happily some was not. Please don't ever stop playing because I don't want to ever stop listening.

  • I was fortunate enough, in the later '70s early 80's to have the honor of playing a couple of tunes on Rudy's hammond while at Trader Jacks. Indeed a great honor. Wally and Evy Wacker, Florida residents, and frequent visitors at Trader Jacks bought us to hear the fine playing of Rudy. Been following his releases ever since! This is a great video, and please keep the hits comming!

  • An absolute 'dream' setup of keyboards. Thanks for the tour.

  • Rudy you are amazing, a Great Unsung Hammond Hero to me !!!. Wish i could of seen seen you live back in the 70's. You came to Nine Mile Point in Webster, N.Y. which is very close to my hometown Rochester, N.Y.. Thanks again !!!!

  • DUDE!!!!! You have my ultimate dream system!!!!!

  • The Ultimate high tech Organ but you can also PLAY! Very few young people today have the attention span and focus to learn to play Organ.

    OGC5...

  • Hey Rudy, That would be my dream organ. I started out with a Yamaha FS-500 I have been a pop and classical organ and horse show organ all my life. Man what a great sound. I wish you would do a song called "Is it true what they say about Dixie"

Thanks man please keep up the awsome organ music!!!!

  • I want one !!!!!

  • What a great set up, Rudy! It's so well thought out and of course a great tour of your system. You are very right, there is no replacement for the real thing: a Hammond B-3.

I'm hoping to buy some vinyl LP's you've recorded. By the way, back in about 1978 I used to cross the Golden Gate Bridge into SF on Wednesday nights to hear the legendary Walter Wanderley play at Le Montemare club. No cover charge. I believe that was the last venue he played at in his final days. Rest in peace.

  • Thanks for the nice presentation. I look forward to seeing a lot of your work here on YouTube.

  • Excellent Explination, Thanks Rudy, and Thank Your Wife for the Outstanding Video Work...

  • Hi Rudy,

I enjoyed watching your videos and admire your playing, Great quality stuff.

I just can't help myself wanting to ask you a question though:

If you have a Sampler and use all this modern technology, then why do you tend to hang on to the other keyboards around you? If you use a keyboard just for a strings sound, why not sample it?

I'm trying to build a similar piece of furniture with 2 master controllers and Modules (Favourite: Akai S6000)

    Good Luck, Keep it going!

    Hilvert (U.K.)

  • Thanks for your comment Hilvert. It would be impossible to use one or two Sampler keyboards to accomplish the diversity of sounds and layering, not to mention the polyphany issue running multiple samples on one or two keyboards. And another nice thing about my setup is each keyboard has its own special features. & personality.. The PA-80, the best strings, the Tyros, best rhythms and arranger.. Etc. The way I see it, The more, the merrier. Wish I had the room & money for more. Lol. Rudy.

  • I am so pleased to have found your clips on You Tube,long may they continue;

    John

  • Thanks John. I appreciate your comment. Rudy

  • youre keyboard is very nice

  • Rudy, what's the organ to the right of the X66? Looks something like what I learned on. Looking forward to seeing your new system. You're a slow learner? I'm a software engineer and learned so much from this vid...don't ever doubt yourself as you are awesome!

    John

  • Very impressive Rudy! I found your video informative.

  • Rudy, may I congratulate on your set-up, what an amazing system, I have to admit I considered my setup of five keyboards linked together by midi when playing out not so long ago was in itself pretty awesome but yours is truly incredible. I will most certainly be keeping a close eye on your postings from now on..You play fab as well.

    Kind regards

    Ronnie

  • Thanks Ronnie. Well, I can't keep my hands off my system. Since I did this video, I have changed most everything around. Much much better now for live performance. When I get a chance, I will do a new video of the upgraded system. Rudy.

  • Hi Rudy ! Caould you show us something about Chords...the most difficult...the easier and some way to improvise music on keyboard ? Thanks man !

  • Amazing! I found your equipment fascinating!. You are a creative organist. Keep playing!!! Best Regards,

     Pedro

  • Rudy, Just been watching your fantastic videos, I've been an organist/keyboard player for more years than I care to mention, but you've got me thinking about modifying my kit to look similar to yours. I have an XK3(2 manual) Pro system, and a Tyros 2, I think I could come up with something, but how does it feel playing the Tyros on top of the XK3, is it comfortable and do your arms ache after a while, as it seems a bit of a stretch. Would love to hear your opinion.

    Many Thanks

    Keith UK

  • Keith UK, The XK3/ 2 and the tyros would be great. Although I still prefer my yamaha DX72 on the bottom, the xk3 in the middle and the tyros on top. Reason is, I can still play the XK3 from the DX7, thus no need for a second XK3, while gaining the sounds of the DX7. As far as reaching for the Tyros way out there, No Need thanks to Midi. I play the Tyros from the bottom and middle keyboards. Thanks . Rudy

  • Thanks for your Reply Rudy, I have my Tyros to the left of my XK3, as I play the Tyros a lot, so I'm gonna stick with this, but I still love your setup, and you have a new fan so I will be looking out for new videos from you.

    Thanks Keith

  • Tom (cinema104), The 25 note Midi pedals are Hammond model XK. I then installed chrome extrusions over top the wooden pedals. Now they look like my old X-66 pedal board. I feed the midi out of the XK pedals into two Peavy Bass tone modules. Gives me a nice fat bass sound. Thanks for your interest in my system. Rudy.

  • How about your pedal board, Rudy. How did you hook it up and where did you get the 25 noter.

  • Hi freemusic1979. Thanks. Definately Italian origin here. Grandparents from northern Italy. Not southern. Me? Good Ol 100% USA.

  • Hi Rudy,

    good job!Beautiful place for musicians!!

    Beautiful design!

    (You have Italian origin?)

    See you from Sicily

  • Nice presentation, Rudy, Thank you. I understand better now why you said puting keys aligned would take more space. Nice setup! Congrats!

  • At last I found someone as crazy as me about making an organ using many arrangers and synths. My equipment is much more modest but competes with many top of the line and very expensive modern organs. Soon I'll be adding a Mediastation Fatar keyboard as a middle keyboard which is a computer based workstation for many Vst sounds. Congratulations!

  • Excellent set up and demonstration, Rudy! I currently play a Ketron SD-1 but cut my teeth on the Technics KN series with the KN1000, 2000 and 5000.

  • Thanks for the reply Motune. Technics made a very nice keyboard in my opinion. To bad they got out of the keyboard business. Rudy
