Aw, what a lovely video, was feeling a bit homesick, and this made my day! You can see my house from there! :) Love this walk, used to go up there all the time, lots of lovely memories. Thank you. :)
Fantastic video. Visited Skye for the first time this year and was amazed. Weather wasn't great when I went up the Quiraing but the view was still special. Judging from your video it's even better on a clear day! Hope to return soon. Nice to see a fellow ITFC fan in the comments as well :-)
Since posting this video, I have visited the Quirang a couple of times and a week ago, flew a hang glider over a thousand feet above the pinnacles with 2 buzzards for company. They weren't in the least aggresive and played with me a a few metres from my wing, for over 20 minutes. Overcome with emotion, I cried.
Excellent video, My mum and dad love Skye. We've been to most of the Hebrides, Harris, Islay, Lewis, Mull, Uist, etc and St Kilda if you know the island. Haven't been to Barra, Coll and Tiree which is where I'm visiting this year! Anyway, We've walked around the Quirang, heard a Cuckoo whilst there! (Will always remember that!) as it echoed! It is an amazing place. Excellent choice of music, I'm a bagpipe player and like this sorta stuff! 5* and fav'd
I have literally watched this video about 50 times in the past couple of days. I love it so so much. The isle of Skye is one of the most beautiful places of the planet in my opinion. Also, can you PLEASE reply and tell me the name of that bagpipe piece playing throughout the first half of the video. It's one of the most beautiful pieces I've heard.
@mcchuff I though my viewing figures had shot up ! LoL.
Much of Scotland is an area of outstanding natural beauty but Skye is something else. The volcanic pinnacles on the Trotternish ridge absolutely blow your mind, well mine anyway. I see from your channel, you have discovered Davy Spillane's fantastic music.
I'm glad you've enjoyed my video, Its my pleasure. There are several others featuring areas of Scotland you might like to try on my channel
loved your video hugh. we walked the quirang june 2009. it brought back such wonderful memories and i loved the runrig soundtrack. we went to see them in sheffield before christmas.
Ghand67, You would'nt be the Yorkshire couple I spoke to on the top of the Quirang in June 09 would you? If so you mentioned you had been visiting Skye for 10 years and it was the first time you'd climbed the Quirang in sunshine. You know its strange how Runrig are huge in Scotland and even bigger on the continent, yet relatively unkown south of the border.
sorry Hugh, wasnt us. 2009 was our first visit together on skye although I had been in my bachelor days but couldnt see a "dickie" cos of torrential rain. we had glorious sunny day on quirang as well. we were staying in stein and managed in the 2 weeks to see many of the sights. we also took in ivan drever band at aros centre. very disappointing for them as only about half dozen couples turned up. but they put on a great show. we love runrig and have seen them 3 times in england.
Amazing views. Truly. GREAT video. I'd love to visit here one day. We gave our daughter Skye as her middle name without knowing of this island but as a nod to the spelling of the area. I found it on a map today and was happy to find this video!
@sterb77. Skye? I hope my video says it all. The sheer beauty of this inner Hebridean Island brings a tear to your eye and a lump to your throat. But so does much of the Scottish Highlands. Your daughter will be pleased with her second name, I'm sure. Please feel free to browse the other videos of the Highlands on my channel, you wont be disappointed. Who else but 'Runig' could do justice to the scenery
phenomenal landscape....I was at the quiraing in 2005 and hope to go again next summer....the most powerful landscape I have ever experienced-the video does a good job, as good as one can do of bringing the ethereal to life.... different perspectives, and sun, too!!
I absolutely love this video!! Love the song from Riverdance - what is the second called and by whom? I wanted to jump into the screen and walk that all over again! Thank you for sharing this Hugh!! Cheers!
Thanks for your kind comments. As I've commented elsewhere, who else could do justice to this stunning landscape but Scotlands premier Celtic group 'Runrig'

Hello! Do you stay on skye?
freshest999 9 months ago
@freshest999 I have only returned from Skye in the last couple of days. The second visit in a month.
I have a caravanette, so spend as much time as possible there. Mainly to hang-glide.
