  • Awesome! Thanks for posting

  • Yes, i am a home-town Detroit girl, & I actually what Tamla records means. That was Barry Gordy's daughters name, & was what MOTOWN was known as early on. Detroit ROCK CITY!!!

  • i`ll comment willingly this is just such a piece of class and will always be.Stevie is a genius and this is one of his best thank you for posting

  • I used to take comfort in this song when it first came out. I was nine years old and bullied very badly at school after which I came home to where the hatred flowed like water. I used to be so down and felt so alone and unwanted that hearing this song on my transistor radio would be about all of the refuge I had a lot of the time. I swore I'd never make anyone for any reason feel like dirt the way I felt back then. I hope that I have kept that promise.

  • I was a Jr. in high school when I first heard this song. I was in a car on the way to a high school basketball game. There was 6 of us in the car and everyone stopped talking when the DJ played this. We all fell in love with Stevie in 1966!

  • Does he sing this and other songs at his concerts and wherever? It seems like I'm always hearing stuff from the 1980s. Not exactly his best music in my opinion. He should at least mix in some of the greats from the past instead of catering to some audience with fond memories of the 1980s or conservative years in the political world. Maybe I'm mistaken. Anyone hear these songs from his past recently?

  • my god im far from young but this song is so good how could you not love it i was born in 59

  • When I hosted an oldies show in college, I always ended the show with this song. To me, it was a song that crossed a lot of style barriers: folk, country, soul, pop, you name it. It had a soft but powerful message that people from all walks of life could enjoy. Thanks for the memories.

  • Wonderful Stevie Wonder... One of my favorites of his. Thanks for posting, MotownMagic1959 !!

  • I found some books at the lirbary I recommend: "Signed, Sealied and DeliveredLThe Soulful Journey of Stevie Wonder," by Mark Ribowsky. He also did a book on the Temptations and one on the Supremes that I'm sure can be found by Googling his name. Warning to loyalists: This guy doesn't like Berry Gordy or "Diane" Ross. Stevie was born here in Saginaw, a Little Detroit that the author describes as resembling "a bathrub ring." Geez!

  • @John my Mother died in JAN67 and after her funeral I remember listening to this 45rpm record over and over it helped me thru I tried to buy it earlier couldn't find it or maybe I forgot the A in the title anyway many many thanks. A couple of word changes hardly any I may attempt this in Church. Let me know what you think. C.F.B.

    Terry

  • So many memories this wonderful song brings. This is one of Stevie's most beauiful because of the lyrics, the melody and his delivery. He is one of the truly great singers/composers of all time!

  • I wonder who to contact to gain the rights to add this song to a short film?

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

    Thnkx.

  • It's licensed by UMG (United Music Group) they are the ones you should contact, of course Berry Gordy is the owner of ALL the songs. You are welcome to mention that you heard it on You Tube as they will know I've put it on here. Wasn't Stevie the greatest?

    JOHN

  • Still is. I saw him this summer at the Montreal Jazz Fest.

    Thanks for the licensing info.

    Matt.

  • Glad to be of help, nice to hear you saw him at the Montreal Jazz Fest. JOHN
