Wow, wow, wow, wow, did anyone count the number of advertisements?
.....
I am so frustrated being hustled so much in such a short period of time that I will make sure I purchase the competition instead of any of the products shown here.
This is simply brilliant! Using natural energy is the way to go and its free!! A plus, awsome rig! A self sufficient rig is what everyone should do if the want to go RVing.
What is your plan for when you run into a few dozen really bad guys all heavily armed when the only law is "there is no law"? In a book I an now finishing I call such vehicles "mobile convenience stores for mobs". I am "prepped" at home. A year not leaving the house. Guns, gold, long term foods etc.
Great design & a cool project Brian! I do agree with others who say this video is a bit to heavy on the product placement. If I were rich I'd sponsor you so that you wouldn't have to mention the manufacturers, etc. Yes, in a perfect world, people would sponsor each other, but for now, whether it's a pro-skiier, RVer, etc. they need some sponsorship to keep the wheels moving. Best wishes for your further endeavors on the road. H.M.
Sadly, that was an infomercial. The idea was great, but that was pure suck up for sponsors. You have to mix in something interesting with the product placements ;-)
@BrianBrawdy Thanks for the response! I did go back and watch a couple more videos, and I have to applaud your efforts to be self contained. I'm a big fan of travelling self contained myself, and I hang out on the ExpeditionPortal.
I love the windmill. I wasn't going to look at any other videos, but your response proved that you weren't just a salesman ;-)
Nice setup, but what do you do in bad weather conditions ? do you still have a small gas generator for emergencies ? I'm sure you could get through a few nights with just the batteries, but I was thinking you maybe had a built in genset or maybe a small portable generator on the side.
ragin - If you're into RVing and you like what you see, you will absolutely want to know who makes it. If you're not into it, why are you commenting? Good job Brian.
Brian, nice rig, I currently have a eco fifth wheel which I use for my photography, I am selling it as I need something smaller to get more remote, I will get a truck camper and put my current solar system on the tc. I was wondering what you use to protect the panels on the front of the camper? Also do you have the generator in your rig? thanks much and good luck Bill
Very cool RV. I'm sure it's a lot of fun to travel with and really get off the grid.
I support the questions regarding it's "green" label. In order to be truly green, one must also look at how it's made from the first components long before it gets to the consumer. High tech manufacturing has a huge environmental footprint. As more people demand it, battery & solar panel technology is getting more sustainable.
Also, it currently seems the most efficient fuel is diesel made from algae.
sweet ride! i see you have an 08 superduty diesel, and a lance 1181 that probably costed like 80k alone but how much did your rig cost altogeather? and you said u get 11mpgs is that with the camper onboard
More power to you! If some people want to criticise you, then they better be able to at least match your accomplishments. If not they are just loudmouth running fools!
Though I get 11 mpg, not needing to plug in for water or electric makes all the difference. In that I live in it full-time, my carbon footprint is even less.
Though some may not be as "ECO" as others, "going green" is a blend of mindset and the mechanical, 1/2 technology and 1/2 temperament. Harnessing the natural energies of the sun, wind and rain is only a portion of the picture. My efforts to recycle, to tread lightly, to go forth in my little attempt to make a difference is as important as anything else. Like diesel mechanics, some are good, some are great! RV'rs enjoy the same latitude. Some are good at going green, some are better at it.
Sure the ability to camp "off the grid" may be nice, but there's nothing "green" about it, so why push it as such? RVer's are probably the last people around that need to feel they are being "ECO" while in their camper!

Very nice RV, but this seems like it's not EMP proof, so pretty much useless besides residing in it.

@HunterMann Thanks for the feedback. I only wish I had been smart enough to make them all sponsors.

Why in the HELL did you not take the time to show the inside ?
What a JIP ...... and if you think PIAA makes the most powerful driving lights you can find ... (maybe for free) you sure did not look very hard...

@tejastiger61 Thanks for the note. New video shows inside. Learning as I go, still!! When I bought the PIAA it was the best info I had at that time.

Sorry, watched another of your video.. your truck IS running on veggie oil!
Good thing!
Nevertheless, rain harvesting, solar panels, wind turbine, veggie oil..
That's all you need to have a green RV, ditch the Inspector Gadget things!

The wheels aren't green
The tires aren't green
The air pressed torque wrench isn't green (what's wrong with muscle power?)
The Satellite sh*t isn't green
The medical kit isn't green
...nope..
They're just sponsors.
I'll bet the truck doesn't even run on veggie oil.. Why don't you start with that?
