ok, i think it was not only the fact that the mechanics tightened the rear elevator's cables too much, being overloaded with cargo in the back probably didn't help matters either. The plane might have made it if it wasn't so close/past it's maximum takeoff weight.

@dks11000 If you add the weights in Dead Weight part 1, copilot made a wrong calculation. How did he got the CPL? Wrong calculation of grade 3 math killed everyone.

You said it correctly, it is a weight problem.

@PUTHENTHOPE it wasn't the copilots fault, and what went wrong isn't learned in grade 3. The problem was a theoretical average weight per passenger which was too low as people got heavier in average since the 1930s. That's a complex problem a third grade student could never solve!
