  • did you get it???

  • Yep. I did. Neat little package!

  • very interesting how this machine will work with designing programs - like Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks, Dreamviewer , or any other PHP or script editing programes?

    what you think

  • i have tried it with photoshop (CS3).. and it works very well.. it can recognize the pressure sensor, eraser, etc. and i can use the pen tool pretty well.. the pointer a little miss, but it's alright..

well for script we can use just the keyboard like usual laptops right?

  • Thanks for posting this video! Very impressive. I'm considering purchasing this for my daughter or the TX2z. 1 question; does this model run hot underneath when using graphic intensive tasks or watching a DVD? my HP DV2404ca has already been replaced due to faulty Nvidia GeForce 6150 - an issue of overheating.

  • if you still want one i am selling mine on ebay now its been used less than 10 hours and already has painter and adobe cs3 master collection on it. I am selling it to get a wacom 21ux and it does not have the 6150 that that craps out just after the warranty expires

  • Does anyone know if there have been any major improvements between the tx2z and the tx2600?

  • yes. capacitive touchscreen. Get the tx2z

  • hey man i really like the laptop and i searched and i know everything about it now i'm guess that i'm buying one soon of the tx26xx

anyways i see many people rate the laptop as really bad laptop so what do u think? hows the laptop with u so far? and hows the VGA card espacaily ?

thanks so much i subbed btw,,

  • do you have a link to the tx26xx?

  • i got the laptop and idk why u cant view tx2600 on hp us site

anyways its the same i have 3Gb ram and 250Gb HDD and the other are the same

  • duuude, your a genius~

tell me though, with power saver on, how much battery life are you getting on average?

  • depends on which battery you have. standard you get 4 hours.

  • ah, brilliant.

thanks tonns, thats just what i needed to know~

  • btw this may seem weird but I suggest that if you're going to buy a tablet, buy a Latitude XT refurb from ebay.

I did the same. The Latitude XT is superior to all tablets. The capacitive touch is just excellent. Don't buy new latitude because they're expensive as hell.

  • wow, i just had a look at it. it looks good! not as pretty as this HP one, but certainly more functional. and lighter I see

    thankyou for the advice!

a question though, what about this HP one made you change to the XT?

  • the capacitive touch and the lightness.

capacitive I can't live without. Research the difference between "resistive" and "capacitive".

  • ah, thankyou i just saw some of it watching your other overview vids of the LX

  • well, i'm sure it's not getting as hot as mac book pro.

  • amen to that brother XD

    rofl

  • Dawg! This is what I needed, thanks! Finally it won't get so hot (the advanced power settings processor thing), thank you so much!

  • hey i got the same labtop i am finding it annoying b.c of so many things running and idk which ones to delete and my cpu is like 100 percent and really frustrating me can u help me out

  • download spybot search and destroy and run it.

  • haha take ur shirt off cos the laptop gets too hot..classic lols.

  • 64-bit or 32-bit os?

  • Thanks, i was having second thoughts whether to get this or not but after this i think i have made my mind, am gonna get it

  • yeh iv been wanting one for a while. was going to get the TX2000 but didn't get the money in time before it was sold out. And there was also the issue of performance, whereas this has came along and fixed the performance :) definitely going to get it now.

  • 2 cell 4 cell whatever.

  • yes

  • if you buy this with a 2g battery can you later on upgrade it to 4g?

  • Is there a function in Microsoft oneNote to convert your own hand writing to Times New Roman font, etc?

cuz I can't really read my own handwriting sometimes.

  • Uhm.... there should be...

You can also use the onscreen keyboard or something.

  • So you could write a short story and draw pictures to match it beside it?

  • You basically have a virtual notepad on which you can type and write. You can write anywhere and you can type anywhere. You can draw doodles on the side.

  • yeah, this stuff is very useful. I'm getting one for my birthday now that i have the info on it. thanx j00!!

  • Can you draw and type on the same document?

  • with Microsoft OneNote, yes. It's very useful.

  • Excellent videos, you're obviously a very capable reviewer. These videos have been very helpful and I think I'll be picking one up soon :)

  • Hey man! The reviews you have done for this laptop are really helpful. Due to there information, I am seriously concidering buying one ASAP. I just ave one request... Do you thnik you can try to play Call of Duty 4 or Rainbow 6 Las Vegas 2 on it, because if it can run those games, it will be a done deal for me. I would be getting an optimized system, much like yours. Thank you very much!

  • I downloaded the COD4 demo on this and it worked well on low settings. I'm trawling the net trying to see if anyone has had experience with it online cause I wouldn't buy the game if it didn't work online since I have it for PS3

  • sorry man i like your reviews and your hp dv7t immm getting dat in 26 probabbly u alredy otice my comment in youtr last vid lol but i got a question IS DAT PROGRAM IN DIZ REVIW ON DA SCREEN A HD VIDEO CONVERTER? IF IT IS PLEASE TELL WHERE 2 DOWNLOADED thaks man appreciated ur reviews and if u rply my comment

  • TMPGEncoder

  • Is this machine the same or similar to the tx2525nr sold by best buy by chance??? I am looking at getting the tx2525nr but cannot find any reviews on it online yet as it just came to the store recently.

  • Same thing. Anything with "tx25XX-XX" is considered a tx2500z.

(fill in "X" with numbers and letters)

  • so is there any difference between the model or is just best to customize what i want.

also does this come with an adapter or just a normal battery equipment.

  • It gets so hot you have to take your shirt off. LOL. That is one hot **s laptop.

Your videos are awesome, and you provide some good daily usage information. My only suggestion would be to set up your surroundings a little better. For the love of all things good, clean up the room a bit, stage the laptop on a desk or something, get a tripod for your camera, and use some lighting for better contrast.

Even with all this, I think it is a good review and your speaking voice/pace is good.

  • A review of a review :D

Don't divide by zero you might make jesus mad.

  • take ur shirt off ROFL

  • just a question how long would the battery last on idle?? and how long would it last if u were playing games?

  • Thanks for creating these. I ordered one of these and have been looking at your videos while I am waiting for mine to be built and shipped. Your videos helped a lot with my decision making.

    Gregg

  • Just a question, does your tx2500 come with a high-pitched noise when not plugged in?

  • no.

  • thanks a lot... I'll be waiting for #5

  • Can you run modern games like Cod4 or Crysis??

  • Thanx for all these amazing demo thingys...i cant wait to get mine...me and my little sister keep watching all ur vids cuz we are so effin baffled by how amazing this comp is...

but i hav a question..i once red somewhere that computers that have the writin abilities in them u can change ur notes into text without havin to retype everything u just took down as notes...can u do that on this comp??? and if so how??

  • Does the screen scratch easily? And have you tried Ubuntu?

  • is there a webcam on it

  • that depends on your version of tx25xx

    his unit has a webcam

  • I still think you should do an unboxing.

  • This was very helpful! Thank you!

  • ive been trying to found out in detail about this laptop 4 aaaages and you finally gave it a full on run thro so thankyou so much. all i could find b4 was the older models.

i am definatly buying one of these now.

all ive gotta do is save up aha.

    cheers again :) x

  • when are you putting up part 5!?

  • Internet has been down for 9 days now. Still down. Leeching off of gay wifi network across the street very unreliable.

    F*** Mediacom.

  • bummer. I think I'm getting mine in about two weeks, I'm starting to get antsy

  • you have some great overviews of the laptop. I just ordered the computer a few days ago and was wondering about how well it plays modern-day games. I saw that you played a little bit of starcraft, but how well does it handle newer games, like Half-Life 2, Bioshock, or Call of Duty 4. I think there are easy downloadable demos for Bioshock and COD4. Thanks in advance, and I hope you keep up the exciting overviews. My tx2500 is coming on July 25th.

  • I don't think it can play newer games very well.

It's considered a 'very portable' notebook by me so I don't take into consideration the video card performance.

I'll tell you one thing though: If you play Mass Effect, it runs fine with all the settings turned down to the lowest. Anything above that it gets choppy. (I've played a few minutes of Mass Effect on it)

  • i know it's a portable laptop, but it is supposed to have an ati hd3200 graphics card, which is supposed to be equivalent to a modern-day budget graphics card.

If you could make a brief video of how it handles these modern-day games, we could all get a better sense of what framerates to expect from the computer. Thank you. :)

  • actually that's a lie. The hd 3200 is far below a budget graphics card. Believe me, it's not that great. These kinds of graphics cards are made to run vista pretty effects flawlessly and then do a little gaming or something else requiring graphics processes. DO NOT EXPECT GREAT PERFORMANCE.

If you are a gamer, get a laptop and get a desktop. I have a Radeon 4850 crossfire setup just for gaming and I plan on getting this laptop for portability and doing things that don't require so much horsepwr

  • while this laptop is clearly not designed to handle graphically demanding games, you have to realize that this laptop runs 3D applications 3 times faster than the closest competitor. It has a 3DMark06 score of 1600. You have to admit that that is pretty impressive for a 12" ultraportable tablet.

  • whats the software your using for video encoding?

  • TMP Encoder 4

  • thanks that was awesome!!

btw have you tried disabling the "fan always on" option in the BIOS?

Also could you tell us the quality of the screen

    thanks

  • I can't seem to get into the BIOS. I try a few known keys but it always just boots into windows. I'll consult the manual.

The quality of the screen is great! The grainyness is almost the same thing as a low contrast ratio. It just makes it a bit less bright and a bit less contrasted. Nonetheless it's a great screen altogether!

  • hey were did you buy your laptop? since i saw the tx1000 ive always wanted one now that ive seen this one i want one really bad :P :P really nice vid, convinced me completely in to buying it thanks man...

  • GREAT GREAT GREAT!!

  • Is the pen included when you buy it from hp?

  • yes pen is included.

  • when you want to right click do you press the "right click" button then tap the screen? or do you have to hover over what you want to right click without tapping it?

  • You hover over the place to right click on and then press the side button and it right clicks. There's no tapping involved.

  • thanks dude

  • you're welcome
