  • Oh, My LORD! One of my sons was hypnotized by this song when he was a toddler! It was on San Francisco Bay Area pbs in 1985.

  • where is Oliver now???

  • @crazy4mickey He was my english teacher! He lives in St. Paul, alberta

  • That kid is now grown up and is my english teacher as well as a football coach.

  • On a related note, I wonder if that kid was home-schooled, because I can only imagine that if he attended public schools when this show was on the air, he would have been beaten up mercilessly on the schoolyard.

  • Was this part of some weird Canadian mind-control experiment?

  • @conn8500 Yes.

  • as a child, i used to have a recurring nightmare of gloved hands coming out of the ground to try an grab me. i think i just figured out where it came from.

  • Interesting. I never saw this show before. Where and when did this air???

  • This is something Ive never forgotten - Talk about a blast from the past!

  • She's got GREAT Legs Jealous!

  • I don't know what's worst..all those hands, or her singing at a high-pitch! HAHA!!

  • Size Small was never broadcast in the US, this is the first time I'm watching this. I have to say these comments are hysterical (I didn't know so many young'uns had secret fantasies about Ms. Helen.) I don't really get who that kid is (?)

  • @ichigatsujohn You are soo right! It is amuzing to see some of us Cunuks write our comments! ;)

  • I could write shit like this all day long. I need a job on Children's tv! LOL

  • Sounds kinda like "Benny & The Jets"

  • Sounds kinda like "Benny & The Jets".

  • i need to remix this shit!!

  • @TheHcomment Do it!

  • @TheHcomment totally do it - I will buy it.

  • i would not bang her

  • This must be why I like Supertramp so much. Hey wasn't she the one who cut shit out of construction paper all the time?

  • Lmao! I can't believe how much I loved this show. I even had the record and listened to it ALL the time!

  • Watch this on ShRoOmS

  • CREEPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is like the poor man's Polka Dot Door.

  • awesome.

  • She has the same face as Paris Hilton. Look at 1:51

  • But there are some disturbing parts to this video. You can see Mrs.Helen had a bit of a "bounce" going and you can almost see up Mrs.Helen's skirt as well. Not like I'm a pig or anything just LMAO at what I didn't catch when I was little. PLEASE UPLOAD FULL EPISODES!!! I LOVED THIS SHOW! I fondly recall the "store" scenes and Friend Record will always be my friend no matter how old I am.

  • this guy is my football coach in st paul alberta hahaha

  • Who? John Lumby Jr.?

  • yeah man lol

  • That's so funny...I used to watch these guys growing up! So funny to think he is a football coach.

  • I'm mesmorized, I can't take my eyes off of this.

  • I remember turning on the TV at 5:00 am and being captivated by these shows. They had about 4 different versions of the "Size Small" franchise. Pretty ambitious for the budget of such shows at the time in Canada.

  • Ditto! Seeing these old classics are the greatest thing about YouTube. I just hope more people upload VHS versions of local tv shows on the web. DVD Recorders are the best!

  • What a tease.

  • OMG ...Any more clips?!

  • Damn! Kick a little higher !

  • I just put Miss Helens alarm system in her house today. She looks much older but very much the same nice lady she always was....sent home some videos for my kids too:)

  • Do they still live in Saskatoon?

  • In a small village west of kitchener called Baden. Her oldest son Jeff played "Winston Rothchild the 3rd" on the Red Green show. Was fun to get to know her a bit, she was flattered that I remembered her.

  • Ontario

  • This is so good... but I think it's because I'm really high right now.

  • This makes me want to bludgeon someone to death.

  • I seriously think someone should remake this song, but dancing around a pole.

Paris Hilton. Well if she could actually sing.

  • @cpatterson76...and you'd want to see that on a pole???? That meaning Paris Hilton...I think her bones would make too much noise grinding against the metal...

  • Sounds like an Elton John song!

  • You're thinking of "Bennie and the Jets".

  • Haha!! Yes, It sounds identical to that song! How truly bizarre! And what is it with that kid in with the hands? LOL!!!

  • The kid is John Lumby Jr., Miss Helen's son. In the show, he was called "Oliver Sudden".

  • LOL that left hand duo there isn't quite the clapper that middle hands are. Looks really confused right at the end.

  • Actually, there are only three pairs of hands in that shot. The shot is a composite of two cameras aimed at the same scene.

  • Childhood flashback. My long lost fantsasy mother.Oh how you rock oh fantasy mother.

  • Yeah.... I guess We Had to use More to Enjoy.

But now It's ease to Enjoy ahhahaah 1981

  • those white hands are money

  • I used to love this song!!

  • Just ask Jeff Lumby about it. Google "CJDV-FM".

  • I can't believe I used to watch this. The hands clapping in the dark is the creepiest shit I've ever seen. Kids today would be bored to death by this!

  • I swear, you're sending me on the biggest, most enjoyable, longest trip down memory lane!!!! OMFG!!! I'm finding stuff like this, that I'd long forgotten!!!

  • Miss Helen was SEXY

  • this video is amazing.. ill never forget this song or vid

  • Hey! Retrontario. I was wondering if you post more size small clips including the years of her doing the taps with her boots. I love the clips with her wearing grey high heel cowboy boots. I love cowboy boots and she got me to love boots especially dancing. I love miss helen!

  • I love this clip! I was wondering if you can produce more clips of her dancing including the one when she is wearing high heel boots. I love size small island and size small country.

  • Here's an interesting observation...until this month, this 1993 YTV bug represented the period that was the only time the station ever attempted a full-program bug.

  • Who was that lady in this video?

  • That's Helen Lumby, aka "Miss Helen", the matriarch of the Lumby family.

  • OMG what a flashback! You rule for posting this clip, a million thanks!

  • There it is! You have finally found the cut of video that defined not just my childhood, but also my entire life! It has been, what, over 15 years since I last saw this clip, and because it has a certain arousal factor with me, it has stayed in my mind ever since.

I actually remember that more than one take of this clip went to air, but I believe this is the first take that did go out.

Looking forward to more Size Small clips, like "Go Pony Go", "Love Somebody", "Bingo" and "No Moustache".
