there are people who play with feeling and "soul" and there are people who don't(or don't care to). having played in front of people a good bit, i would add to the discussion that it's not always easy to find that "place", especially if the yahoos are in attendance. the flamencos think the listener also has to have "soul".
Just because someone could play at lightning speeds doesn't mean they don't have "soul". Get that fucking old cliche out of your head. I can see a point being made about people who are too technical about their playing (ie, shredders), but this guy is phenominal.
Well said. I think people on here are just jealous of Phil, thats why they have to put him down all the time. I'd rather have the option of being able to play fast and slow rather than just slow. I think Phil plays with more emotion than most guys.
