im new to this tablet thing.im having a hard time figureing out how to color it right and stuff.lol.right now my drawings are way better hand drawn, lol.
i hve so a programm too, but i didn´t check it! if i draw a skizze and if i want, that my skizze is so weak, then it comes so checkered box, and i didn´t wan it!!
@Bidon45 Well, it was my first drawing in photoshop with a tablet...and it's not a finished image, but I will try improving. I can see how it is "flat".
@BlossomedRose Mostly due to the lighting, I can see you did shade it a little bit, but the light still seems to be somewhat uniform throughout the entire image, that is my take on the flatness, it also looks nice if you vary the line weight a bit more on the characters you choose, it adds "life" to the art. Since there is very little "texturing" in anime/manga the artist relies heavily on really hard edged lighting to nullify that flat look. The blended look you use is more for painting.
And it is a little hard to get used to them. My problem was that I couldn't tilt the tablet to do certain lines because the tablet keeps the picture straight regardless. I eventually learned to just move my hand certain ways to lines.
I think you'll be fine with it :3 just practice a little and don't give up. It may be hard at first.
Hiya - what tablet are you using? I've never used one but have managed to get one as payment for a design jobby :)
Have only ever done 'traditional' painting so am worried I won't be able to get to grips with actually erm.. feeling the canvas/board... the texture etc. Any advice?
