  • Dot is a typical bogan with no shoes LOL

  • I watch this over 100 times as a child.

  • i watched this over and over again as a kid, it was one of my favourite movies. It was good animtion for its day. It is a movie that plays on your mind, hence why some twenty five years later i have looked it up,

  • I remember watching this I think on Nickelodeon.....? Even then I realized how cheap the animation was (how they kept reusing the same animation loops over and over again, just with different backgrounds)

  • I remember watching this on either BBC1 or Children's ITV back in the 80s. However, as I recall it was a series, not a full movie (as I now understand it to be). Was it a movie which was 'cut up' and shown as a serial?

  • This brings back so many memories.. :)

  • love this movey still love it

  • Thumbs up if you had nightmares about the bunyip as a 5 year old because of this

  • wow! So happy to find this! Loved this as a kid :-)

  • I remember just skipping this part with my old VHS player...coz we were too cooool for songs

  • A lot of people are saying how the bunyip scared them. Scared me and my brother 2. Even now sometimes we just randomly sing the bunyip song. Like seeing even kids nowadays liking this movie. Love my nephew singin the bunyip song and my niece telling me the bunyip is gonna get me, lol. Oh and I absolutely love the Platupuss song, always have, I think that is my fave song, lol.

  • I saw this on tv when I was younger but didn't remember the name of it. My brother is the one who remembered years ago and showed me on here. We do not have it on tape. I think it came on HBO or something. The bunyip scared the crap out of me too. My 8 year old nephew loves this movie. Probably the only 8 year old who has seen this video. I used to love when she rode in the Kangaroo's pouch.

  • @biriccina I've watched it many times since 1980,and already went to Australia in 1988 to see Dot at the studio that produced the same film.

  • This was the best movie when I was younger made me cry so many times.

  • Does anyone remember a film similar to this but possibly set in the futire or on another planet whith a boy wandering around with a big white bear. At some point the bear goes sniffing in a cave and gets pulled up by some tentacles and possibly eaten.

  • im 27, and i still remember this movie.

  • @FleshShell24 I am too!!! :)

  • When she was in the forest, it so reminded me of snow white..

  • you can find this video for sale on Amazon.com

  • this made me cry when i was kid

  • Hi! want to buy the vhs or dvds, i'm from brasil

  • Hi! want to buy the videos or cds, i'm from brasil

  • No Dot wouldn't be kicking any butt, Dora seems self sufficiant. Dot just cowers and rely's on everyone around her.

  • loved this show as a kid, the ending was sad and a little scary

  • Man I used to love this show as a kid too. Can't find it anywhere. Thanks for sharing!

  • I can't find this movie anywhere! And that makes me sad. :( I used to watch this a lot when I was little!

  • Where we are going and where we have come from, just makes me shake my head.

the world is losing it's beauty and it's nothing do with writers not having the ability, its just not marketable, no longer a targeted audience.

My cousin came out of the movie trade, due to artistic freedom, it's not just in movies but tv also.

  • FINALLY FOUND THE MOVIE! * _ * thank you very much for the movie to premiere a lot, thankfully I understand the English xD

  • Thank you, thank you to everybody who said this movie used to freak them out!! When I was little I remember being so ashamed of how powerfully this movie affected me. Especially since my mom hired it for me because it was a cartoon about a lovely little girl who played with some lovely little animals. I'm now 27 and I can feel all those old feelings creeping back. I sincerely don't know whether to click on like or dislike.

  • thumbs of if YGOTAS brought you here

  • I bought a dvd copy at the 99 cents store. callrd dot and santa claus

  • i still have the original vhs tape of this movie. it still plays wonderfully, however i'd like to own a dvd copy someday.

  • I remember seeing this a few times as a Kid. I never forgot the cartoon, i'm not sure if it is the Bunyips song that sacred me a little, but i remember a scene Dot was possibly chased?, or maybe a creature in the darkness - not a song. I guess i'm going to enjoy watching this to find out. Thank you for posting this :)

  • This movie freaked me out a bit. And I grew up in the bush around roos, just something about the animation.

  • This was my favourite movie as a child. However the bunyip bit scared me so much my grandparents had to edit it out of the tape.

  • This was my favourite movie as a child. However the bunyip bit scared me so much my grandparents had to edit it out of the tape.

  • It shows how the attention spans of children have changed.

  • this was one of my fav films when i was a child. my mum hated it because i'd repeatedly watch it. i love dot and the whale too and othe dot adventures but this is defo my favourite.

  • Oh my God! Oh my God! I havent seen this since i was a little kid. I cant beleive i stumbled on it. Takes me back

  • I used to watch this as a really little kid. Aw, the memories . . . *grins stupidly*.

  • Didn't she have a little bird friend of some sort. I think I still have the clay sculpture I made in the first grade. I think it was from these Dot cartoons.

  • "Le meilleur moyen de voyager, c'est de sauter dans la poche d'une maman kangourou !"

  • I used to watch it in French when I was little... but all the songs were in English... My father taped it but missed the beginning. Never mind I loved it anyway.

  • I used to watch it in French when I was little... but all the songs were in English... such memories

  • My children loved this, they are now in their 20,s.All those happy days huddled together on the sofa to watch Dotty ahhhhh if only we could go back .............

  • oh dot,one of my childhood cartoons.

  • OMFG! My Childhood Memories!

  • I used to watch it all the time! I love it! Unfortunately the cartoons nowadays aren't at all like that. I lik Dot & Ketoo too but the person who had posted it took it away. Does anyone have it?

  • when i first saw this and i was like five i cried when the kangaroo ran away. i got rlly hooked on collecting kangaroos after that.

  • Brings back fond memories of childhood....

ps. "Watership Down", "The Mouse and His Child","The Last Unicorn" were other favorites.

  • my god! is so nice to see this movie! I can not believe it! For more than 13 years since I've seen! haha makes me feel strange to see it now! but I'm happy because I remember old times! thanks! =)

  • omg i have not seen this in 15 yrs !! i used to reply this everyday when i was a lil girl with my Grandparents <3 brings back alot of memories <3

  • Makes me want to smoke a joint.

  • I watched this so many times as a kid....it just seems a little creepy now...Although 20 years later, the bunyip song still gives me nightmares, without having it seen in that long....

  • God, I haven't seen this since I was a little kid. This makes me feel so freaky.

  • Does anyone have Dot & Keeto? It was very nice too!

  • Great! Thanks!I used to watch it when I was a child!

  • Bought this on DVD in the dollar aisle, and I've never seen it anywhere else since. I've only ever seen it and "Dot and the Bunny," and the first was always my fave. Glad to know it's up here for others to view, even if it's out of print.

Shame it was on the dollar rack too. An insult to an adorable and charming film.

  • i rember this used to scare the hell out of me the bunyip especaly i forgot i ever whached this untill today when i read something on the bunyip and it all came back im not shore if it should have stayed forgoten

  • Holy weird flashback. Talking like 28 years, back when the cable channel changer had a row of 12 buttons with a lever on the side to give you the additional 24 and 36 channels.

  • This was the original Aussie 3-D Flick! ;)

  • @JessOnTheRun mmm can i eat your eggs?

  • The backgrounds freak me out so much when I watch this now. It's incredibly eerie with the naive and, to be blunt, poor animation over those scary images of the Australian landscape and creepy animal noises. I used to watch it all the time when I was younger, but my VHS tape had the beginning missing so I don't recall ANY of this part. I don't know many people who've even heard of it.

  • This is the best of all the Dot movies. Thanks so much for posting it. I first saw it about 25 years ago (when I was about 25) and everyone laughed at me because I was watching the "kiddie cartoons" but I still treasure it. It's a gem.

  • I can't believe this was made 4 years before I was born!!! My and my sisters' childhoods were shaped by this movie. Especially that fearsome bunyip!

  • Wow i cannot believe that i found this!!A magical tale from my childhood, i would like to watch this on shrooms or cannabis;p

  • I love the picture animation!!!

    I love the sounds!!!

I used to watch this when I was 6 years old in 2002.

  • Jeden z moich ulubionych filmów z dzieciństwa:)

  • OMG i found it!! Love this film so much ♥

  • This reminds me of Tobi & the koala bear.

  • You know Yoram Gross animation is quite unique because it's part live-action, part animation. Not many people make things that way anymore.

  • My favorite film:)

  • she is like the Dora of her day lol

  • @cyberwolf2l2 SHE WOULD KICK DORA'S ASS

  • I think it's hilarious that a child was left in the outback. I would love to drive out there in my car to where she is, drinking a mountain dew. Then I would smack her in the face until she fell down and cried, and leave her there to starve. Talk about a productive day!

  • Oh my what what...? I was 8. showtime. i think it was the only thing i ever got to watch. except for showtime shorts before this of that kid getting in the bathtub with his pajamas on. this was so heartbreaking but i did eat alot of eucalyptus leaves hoping to talk to the animals.

  • Whoah...I (for no aparent reason) suddenly remembered that I used to see these films on VHS when very very little.

Mom would buy them for me and watch it together...she always brought me cartoons related to nature, music and stuff...

Man, this could be the very first influence that got me into making art (I'm into illustration and music) not to mention a huge respect for nature....I wish more of this stuff was made for kids nowadays.

    Thx for posting this!

  • Thanks so much for posting this

  • This was on disney channel back then.

  • Holy shit holy shit !!!! I remeber this!!!!

  • It's strange watching something like this when you're older......the magic seems not quite there as it used to be but all the same you can faintly feel how it used to feel with a hint of nostalgia. It's a really strange feeling.

  • Couldn't agree more. And the first time you watch it after you're older, you're constantly going "oh yeeaah, I remember this scene now, or song, etc. When I saw one of the "Dot-running-through-the-forest-with-harp-playing" scenes just now it was like a vicarious flashback.

  • @Chenoan I completely know what you mean! Thank you for expressing it so well.

  • @Chenoan The magic has returned far as I'm concerned. Ok, not totally since i am an adult, but gods I loved this as a kid, and I still do as an adult :)

  • @Chenoan Actually I think there is MORE magic now looking back. Great stories don't come along very often, some once in a lifetime...

  • i loved this movie when i was young and i have to say a superb movie 5/5 sad ending always made me sniffle

  • i remember watching this movie when i was small and i used to run out out of the room when the bunyip part came on

  • i just found out the bunny sccared ny girls too. i don't remember it scaring me but i was like 15 when i watched this ....sad i know.

  • Comment removed
