@jwp98765 - Search the site of SpaceWeather for the most recent post regarding Phobos and it will have an illustration to give you some visual orientation. Ground based observations are often equivalent to viewing things from the bottom of a pool due to the refractive nature of the earths atmosphere. It's what makes stars twinkle...
