  • Bon Jovi, a sad and pathetic hanger-on.

  • Many people dislike Bon Jovi for being too pop but how can they deny the quality of his performance here?

  • I still get the chills when I listen to Eric Burdon..

  • not the same it's like he's trying to reclaim his glory day's but those days are gone and your not the same and oh yes bon jovi uses Duracell to power his guitar

  • steve cropper?

  • Comment removed

  • ...just a different approach...eric b. it's already a legend, jon bon jovi will be one in no time...so,enjoy the music...no need to argue!

  • Punk Rock!!

  • Jonni boy should be embarrassed. No soul. Even today Eric Burdon's voice cuts right through me.

  • perfect blend - hot version!

  • Estasiante! Impressionante!

  • Hey good stuff

  • eric is older but rocks much better than jon

  • Sure looks like an easy gig playing guitar in that band ...

  • @photopicker lol and they got about 15 of em... there should be an open spot somewhere...thinking of trying out myself..

  • I watched this live on TV that night!

  • It is Steve Cropper on guitar.

  • Sure looks like Steve Cropper on guitar next to Richie Sambora, wonder who else was there? Love Eric Burdon since the early 60's.

  • Ms JollyCholly, Why do you have no favorites on your site? Where's the commitment, dear? How deep is your love of music? Compare with one of my two sites. Either this one or dethiefotime. Peace twice.

  • One of those guys is a rock star!! .... the other is Bon Jovi....

  • jon won't steal thunder from the animal. but the animal is burned out now. As kids, Eric Burden scared the sh-- out of us: still does! But it's great to see Jon on stage with one of his idols, Richie too!

These are NOT your TV 'jersey boys'.

  • @MsJollycholly Burned out? Are you in your mid fifties, as he is here? No? Well, when you are, remember your words: burned out.

  • @newaccountdebzbd yes news, I'm 55. I remember him when he was young and compared to now,

'burned out' is my decidely appropriate adjective. PS - when YOU are my age, you'll understand a bit better!

  • @MsJollycholly Well, I can't be 55 again since I'm 57. Being a guy, I suppose some instinctive defensiveness jumped into action at hearing (or maybe imagining that I had heard) one of my heroes attacked. I guess when I think of burned out I think of inactive, defeated, finished. But here he is on stage. He's not a kid anymore, his voice is gone, but he can still awake an old memory or spark curiosity in younger rockers. This is not "burned out" in my book. No offense. Peace.

  • @newaccountdebzbd right on, and it shows his music was timeless

  • jon wont to steal thunder from the animal. but the animal is burned out now. As kids, Eric Burden scared the sh-- out of us: still does! But it's great to see Jon on stage with one of his idols, Richie too!

These are NOT your TV 'jersey boys'.

  • jon didn't want to steal thunder from the animal. but the animal is kind burned out now. Jon still has the voice - but you can see his joy being on stage on eric.

  • Hell Yes!

  • Fuckin Eric spittin those lyrics out like a fuckin DEVIL. Sorry, but Bon Jovi just looks pussy boy next to him.

  • 10 dislikes? WTF? Why do you morons come on here? I wouldn't even dream of going on something like dizzy fucking rascal or 50 (per) cent and dis-liking it 'cos I already know I do enormously so I stay well clear of such shit. I suggest you stay clear of my shit too. Deal???

  • I always liked Eric Burdon but now I love him. I could listen to him all night.

  • Bon Jovi pales in comparison to the greatness of Eric Burdon's voice and stage presence.

  • Right John, you tried, but the truth is that Eric took over that stage!

  • :)))))))

  • BJ coat tailin on Eric Burdon..Burdon wipes his ass with the likes of Bon Jovi.

  • That Rocks and they both Loved what they were doing---!!!!

  • Great !!!

  • Comment removed

  • Eric Burdon Gia panta!!!!

  • great !!!

  • It's my life n I´ll do what I want It´s my mind and I´ll think what I want I gotta get out of this place

  • Eric you still are so sexy. <3

  • one of the best get together of artists ever!

  • This is the best performance I've seen. Wish I was there.

  • Awesome!!! Eric is 69 and still rockin'

  • One summer back in the '60's I took The Best Of The Animals back home to Afton, VA and turned my cousin David Ray onto them, He loved it!!!

  • Eric, you are a living legend that has influenced me since I first ever heard you back in the '60's. Keep on rocking!

  • Shit! I think that song is actually too bad ass for Bon Jovi

  • @StyrofoamKup - agree.

  • Eric has a dominating voice!

  • Eric Burdon dominates!

  • I love you Eric.....

  • what are you thank friggin bonjovi sux balls

how can you you sit through bon jovi crap unlike

  • ok eric burdon cool but bon jovi just sucks

  • @Nicholsable you fuckin idiot

  • @Nicholsable you fucking diot

  • Eric Burdon is the best!!

  • I like the way their voices blend. It has worked well. It's nice to see a massively commercial band like Bon Jovi recognise an old time British pop star. Good times!

  • hey thats some GREAT STUFF !!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Thank You!

  • LOVE IT!

  • waiiit.. you mean its not the Jovi's its my life....lol..its now or NEVVVVVRR. I prefer Eric Burdon over Jim Morrison..just thought id throw that in there

  • good song!

  • femsual, I sadly have to agree that eric's singing is a sad reflection of what he once was. I too loved him back in the '60's. "Cute, sexy and raw" was right--he had a certain wolfish, earthy quality to him that was irresistable then. He's still earthy! He just blew his voice.

  • @CriticalListener - critical, I agree. Those of us who were THERE back in the day are painfully aware of the changes which the years have wrought on the Animal. (and on us, too!)

  • ohnono..did bon jovi kidnap eric burdon and force him to do this...

  • Wow, I love it!

Jon looks so cute with his hair and his dancing!

  • OMG---I would of never thought these guys would be together on stage! very cool

  • Burden don't really sound much different live now than back then...studio versions refined him for the radio.

  • that's from 15 years ago in 1995

  • eric was telented when he was young, but he became too commericial and profitable that he didn't sing "raw"

  • Satan headbangs to Eric Burdon!!!

  • /:)

  • Two of the sexiest rockers in the world!!! And Jon ought to know the lyrics he sang it years before, he was just using his stage presence to show EB off!!

  • Hey, I see Steve Cropper playing his guitar on stage! STAX records, baby!

  • eric is really rockin that ponytail hehe.... i wanna go see him before he turns into a corpse. man, eric used to be a hottie in the 60s, but times change, ouch! i love eric burdon!!!!! =)

  • I love Jovi's jacket in this video.. BEST BAND EVER

  • I've seen Eric Burden both solo and with the Animals reunion in the 80s. He is one of the best performers I've ever seen. The leaping gnome has a helluva powerful voice.

  • Great Gig.

  • thats not singing-- its hollering

  • sorry to break the news to you, but you're full of shit. EB rocks thats all that matters, end of story.

  • Clearly you're a bonjovi fan.

  • Jon clearly blew Eric's vocals out of the water. Jon is surely better, no comparison

  • comentário afrescalhado esse hein.

  • Maybe now. But when Eric was younger he had a very powerful voice.

  • @fiendwithoutaface66 jon sang this before, search before bullshittin

  • bryanmantle; In his day Eric didn't even need a mic and could blow anyone away. Eric was considered pretty "dark" for his day early on. Not as extreme as Morrison but At least my Mom didn't check my eyes when I played Eric as she did when listening to Jim. Ya I got those "eye checks" every time I played the Beatles, Stones, Morrison, Hendrex, Joplin, Etc. So I kept a few Monkees and Archies singles on hand as well as some Dean Martin to keep her happy. Hell it's all good anyway

  • bwahahaha!! now that's comedy.

  • are u addressing me coltrane taylor?

  • Yes

  • actualy im not a bon jovi fan-- im an ex eric burden fan and i grew up watching this guy on tv in the 60,s.. and i also seen eric in person. the guy cant sing for shit now.. As a kid singing his songs he was cute, sexy and raw.. but he should now find a new line of work.

  • Hmm... well I'll take that back then.

I almost got to see him, but I didn't. So I'll probably not know. His voice seemed good on the studio albums few years back.

  • yah me and my ex went to see him in concert in 1981-- my ex thought he was so bad singing that he walked out before the concert was finsihed.. i was mad at him but what can u do... i couldnt force him to stay--lol

i have to admit even then it sounded like eric was just screeching, it was painful to liesten to him... bon jovi got it all over him. I loved eric in 60,s.. i loved all that british invasion music

  • I actually like recordings I've heard from the 80s and well.. I like this video too. Sounds good to me.

  • SUPER!!!!!

  • I was 1st row at EB & the animals show month ago and Eric is definitely in top3 voices of all time! long live EB and BJ!

  • incredible, I mean EB has done so much so far in his life.... long live ERIC BURDON. I ll be heartbroken when one day he dies.

  • Oh my gosh!! Two of the greatest voices on two of the sexiest men!!

  • ERIC FOR EVER...!!!!!

  • YOU ROCK ERIC BABY !! YOU STILL ROCK !!

  • soooooooooooooooooo true!!!!! he's still recording as well he should!!!!!!!!!!

  • Damn, he's still "The Voice"

  • Excellent move..shows respect for the man and lets the world know that Eric still rocks.

  • Eric is ''sumthin else man!''

  • nicenicenice

  • I tried to give Bon Jovi their credit for wanted dead or alive, but now I have to say the coolest things they've ever did was invite Eric Burdon on stage! Great Move!

  • @monkeybone9696 All of the mixes with the entertainers were arranged before the concert. It was I great show. I saw Check Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis. Bob Dylan. What a great day! Hey I even loved Iggy Pop.

  • @monkeybone9696 I agree ..

  • bon jovi sucks balls,

    animals rule

  • Nobody sucks. Both rule!!

  • Much respect to the legend that is Eric Burdon. You are great!

  • Well, he's old

  • Eric made Jovi a star just now

  • It's just great to watch some good video and hear some great rock and roll instead of some of the horrid SHIT out there!

  • I just love this video! Jon looks great! They both sound good together. I remember seeing this on TV. way back then . Still Rocks!

  • Nice one Eric.

  • Eric stole the stage on this one.

  • the part that I found interesting, was how similarly Jon and Eric moved around on the stage

  • ..did you mean..how they had to watch as they performed..steering clear of it without looking down at it?..Nice one Eric!

  • love this!

  • Jhon Still rocks but this not his style

  • I see at least 3 legends, first there is Eric Burdon, then there is Richie Sanborra, and JBJovi aint singing that bad, so let them who don't like it watch something else, there must be a lot of other sh*t for them here on You Tube

  • Make that 4 legends - That's Steve Cropper from the Stax studios (Booker T, Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, etc.)on the other guitar.

  • Ofcourse you are right, I am not familiar with Steve Cropper, but Booker T, Otis Redding and Sam and Dave I grew up with.

In dutch we say: ere wie ere toekomt, wich means something as credits for whom that deserves it.

  • well at least one legend is on stage

  • Scuse me????? What are you talking about?

  • Well don't watch it then, cause we love it, go watch something else and have fun...

  • forgetfulmuse,

U are either very young or an absolute Fuckwit

    Get a Life Dude!!

  • It's my life and I do what I want.

It's my mind and I think what I want.

Oahh we used to sing this out loud, biking home after having partyed all night long hoping to wake up the neighbourhood, lol

so many many years ago, such a sweet memory,

you have to love Eric Burdon.... at least I do.

  • this old boy still rocks!fuckin great, his spirit is evergreen, and the animals are legend

  • I just love Eric Burdon, always did, still do. Old soldiers never die.

and you know what, he still looks cute too.

He is just fantastic, hope is performing in Holland soon, would love to see him in a life concert.

  • Burdon rocking a wallet chain! Boom!

  • Why not!!

  • Eric Burdon is a genius. He and the animals are so fuckin underated its not even funny.

  • Yes, but in the late 60ties and 70ties he was a legend in Holland, hit all the charts in our country, thank god, we had such good times and parties on his music...

  • ..1995 Cleveland Rock n Roll Hall of Fame weekend (Springsteen,Fogerty, Dylan, Crow, Jerry lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Allman Bros. and many more in this 27 song monster show)

  • labor day weekend Rock n' Roll Cleveland 1995..in that great old lady by the lake (Cleveland Municipal Stadium)...you can tell by the pillars..

  • What year is this ?

  • I love them both!

  • Do not compete, just add; there will be more pleasure, and that's what's all about our dear R&R.\

Don't let the system preach you or indoctrinate you. And rock and roll till the very end!!!!

  • I am so glad to see Eric Burdon still alive and kicking!!! Thanx for posting

  • jovi isn't half the musician or star that burdon is.

  • Is there someone who has counted how many comebacks Eric Burdon had. I'm just 17 years old and I'm a fan since I was 15, but I saw him live for only one time. Mmh- He's releasing maybe two new albums this year. I can't wait...

  • he is born on 1941

  • eric is born on 1941

  • I must disagree. Bon Jovi's excitment at playing with Burdon is apparent. I think Eric Burdon is a Legend but John Bon Jovi is a great Talent

  • Yeah he looks like he's going to burst while he watches and who could blame him. What a treat to share the stage with a legend and talent like that. His voice still has that same quality. Love it!!

  • I agree, but still nice Jovi gives him a place next to him on stage.

  • Just F'ing enjoy it for all it is worth!

  • Some day soon Bon Jovi will get old and have gray hair and be forgotton and then lets hope he can get up on stage and sing with the current super-star...........

  • eric Burdon is looking great....

  • Very good performance! I love JBJ's part on 4:57! Brilliant!

  • Look at Burdon about this time, funny!!

  • Play it, Steve!...Cropper!!

  • Congrats to EB & JBJ. Both are doing what they love. Don't we all wish we had the talent & got paid major $ for what we love to do & got to do it everyday? Live & do your dreams & hopefully you can live on the income!

  • Hey!! Give EB a break here.... Old rockers have to pay bills too you know!!

  • Bon Jovi is a shit version of king midas.

  • WOW that was awesome to listen both of them. They sound good.thanks for sharing.

  • Eric...one of a kind entertainer.... his history from 1964 on proves it.

  • This fuckin rocked. I loved it. Jon looks gorgeous as always too!

  • come on!!! Two of the greatest rockers together??? Burdon still sounds great! This is a great piece!!!!!

I met him once in Pittsburgh at a club, got him to sign a DVD cover (should have dragged out the LP) It was "Eric was Here" - he smiled and said something about being a real fan when I told him it was my favorite album.

  • I have this on tape somewhere. I watched it over and over again when it was first on. I absolutely LOVE it! Jon just oozes coolness.

  • Bon Jovi looses here. eric's the king!
