@SpitefulSiren I agree with you that this has a lot of potential but wasn't quite as good as it could've been. I really liked seeing bellydance mixed with rock music and she does have a good handle on the moves and such but there could've been a lot more to it. I would've liked to see a few smaller and isolated movements that uses the music instead of the whole body going crazy as much as it did. Definitely a good piece either way tho. Throughout history different cultures have influenced each other fusing music and dance styles. Thank goodness other wise we would not have the wealth and variety of music we have now. Art and music have to reflect the culture in which it speaks to and has to move with the times. I love belly dance and am excited about all the other dance styles it is now being fused with, still love the traditonal arabic etc, but also love Rock - Fab video!

I love this girl's technique. She can and does dance like a real bellydancer, I have seen her other videos. I've been a bellydancer for several years, studied under quite a few ace teachers, including one of the former BDSSs and I know great technique when I see it. So, people like Cyclamenist and Rousse04 need to get a clue and stop being such GD purists. Change is inevitable. What is your definition of a "real" bellydancer? Only Arab women?? get real. She's dancing to a song with vibrant Middle Eastern melodies and instruments, with a heavy metal beat that is perfect for the punctuated yet flexible movements of her body. It isn't perfect, near the end she seems to have run out of ideas, but it isn't a choreographed dance, she's improvising.
