the 2 people that insiperted me injoining the army was Pat Tillman weather u like him or not and my umcle loenard majewski won the sliver dtar in ww2 for herosim in monte casion

i just ask for one thing remeber the fallen

support our troops wear red ever friday to support the troops

  • Where are all the woman that should be shown in this video? The idea of it is wonderful and special..but we forgot a few people who have served as well.

  • Oh really, what did you do in Vietnam?? Do you feel proud of yourself for Bashing the troops? My dad was a brave Marine who would have whipped your sorry cowardly ass. Veterans are supposed to stick together and remember those who have give the Ultimate Sacrifice, not turn into traders and hippies. You know I am right, which is why you became so angry just now. Maybe this is your wake-up call!! Support the TROOPS!!!

  • that last message was directed towards bullcur...my father was in Vietnam (Marines, 3 Tours, Battle of Khe Sanh), grandfather in WW2 (purple heart, infantry), brother, cousin currently in Iraq, and I served with the 101st Airborne Division during the invasion. Take your conspiracy theory somewhere else. Memorial Day is meant to honor those who have died in service of their country, not dishonor them because you feel wronged by the "System." I could do the same, but I have some self-respect!!

  • Mine is a nick, and I do NOT pretend to have ever been in the military, nor have ever pretended to have been. I'm 17 and I don't hide it. I support the troops and it would be easy for me to sit back and say "go on and fight", but I ain't no hypocrite and I'm planning to enlist, despite that's gonna be very hard for me.

  • I wish you luck kid..but as I've stated..WAR

is to make Rich People Richer, and serves NO other purpose aside from that, but to REMOVE life and/or the Quality OF Life. If you get "Hit" you'll be "Tossed" into a Shit VA System that is STILL playing "Catch-Up" with World War 2 Veterans! Going in the service is NOT serving your Country,it's serving the "Corporation" and their greed. I'm a Disabled Veteran on an Un-justified meager disability pension, and STILL NOT fully compensated! YOUTUBE Ron Kovic

  • We both agree that veterans are treated unfairly. You are people who spend your life for America and what you receive is very little compared to what you give. That's sad, but I think it's the consequence of a certain attitude that sees soldiers as fighters of a criminal war - in my opinion, a war could be criminal, but not the soldiers who're sent to fight it.

Don't take it the wrong way, but I'd like to thank you for your military service. This can mean nothing, I know, but does no harm.

  • Colonel,You sound like a Nice young man,but the IDEA of war is wrong, if a guy in the street hits you,you hit back. If an embodiment of people(The USA)Wants to LAUNDER

tax dollars and award Government Contracts, they send Kids Looking for self-esteem,into a VERY brutal situation, and essentially they become EXPENDABLE! Most "War

Movies" that have EVER been made are "Recruting Films" "Hollywood" becomes Financial Partners with The military Government. There's much more to this than you realize.

  • COLONEL have you seen ken Burns Documentary:"The War"? It's about world War 2 and a MASTERPIECE of filmaking1 it Should be required for ALL school kids. Excerpts are on YOUTUBE..Please try to catch it.

  • Thomas Jefferson once said that war multiplies wrongs instead of repairing them, and that might be right. He said also he had seen enough war to wish not to see another one. War is an evil, yes. But maybe not the worst one. The way wars are conducted, yeah, that may be a total mess where young men are sent to die. But wars can be fought for good reasons, I think.

I'll check out the documentary. I've already heard of Ken Burns, maybe about the Civil War, is it possible?

  • Oh really, so you want to talk sh** and dishonor those who have served their country because you are upset over your disability compensation?? I served my country with pride and honor, unlike you sir, and will not tolerate those who want to join the hippies to protest against my brothers in arms!! You're doing just what Kerry did after Vietnam!! Many in my family have served this country, and not one of them speaks badly about the troops. Maybe the government, yes, but never the Troops!!

  • ColonelHurley - don't mind that guy. He probably never even served in combat, and he is bitter against the government. My father served in Vietnam - and proudly - THREE TOURS, 10 months each. He is a Khe Sanh Marine!! He dislikes the government, but has never spoken badly of his fellow Marines, nor any other branch of service!! Your patriotism should not be contingent upon how much disability compensation you receive from the Veterans Administration.

  • I am Vietnamese American, and I very proud for being a citizen of this Great Nation.I would like to say thank you to all the men and women who have gave their lives to make the U.S.A. the greatest country in the world. Thank you. Thank you all for your service to our Nation. For those that support the military, Thank you for your support. May God Bless Our Nation !!

  • May god bless them all, who have served and who are serving! Salute'

  • It's Memorial Day today. Old Glory flies from my windows. One day I'll enlist in the Army. I only want to serve America, as Memorial Day heroes did in the past and are still doing today. God bless the Armed Forces and God bless America, Land of the Free, Home of the Brave.

  • ColonelHurley - you'll make a Brave Soldier!!

  • Thanks so much! A brave soldier and a true patriot is all I wanna be and I could ever ask to be. To me, you are an ispiring example of duty and service towards the Nation, just as your father and all the military servicemen among your folks!

  • My cousin Tony in Florida would also like to join the military (Marines). He is 17 years old too. My aunt (his mother) doesn't agree. I told him that he should go to a military-friendly college first, and then he could serve as an officer. If you go into the Army, maybe you can meet my cousin Mike. He is currently at Fort Benning, GA - just returned from a 15 month tour in Iraq. Be aware, the recruiter is NoT to be trusted! If you want something, it MUST be written in your contract!!

  • Fort Benning? That's one of the place I'd like to be stationed at! I like Rangers, through they're soo tough. Of course it'll take me long to have everything ready for the enlistment. So, I'll be very careful about what I'll be signing! lol

  • Wow who's the psychotic idiot now? Don't hate others because you lack the intestinal fortitude to step up and do what they do.

  • May God bless all of the past, present and future service men and women of these United States of America.

    Semper Fi,

    Navy Mom

  • Isn't it a shame that some people don't realize that if it were not for the Vets we would definitely not be the free country that we are today. You are obviously NOT AN AMERICAN and living in a country that is not FREE!! I feel sorry for you and, unlike you, I can FREELY pray for you.

If you are an American citizen, do us a favor and leave this country.

  • Tony, our son, we are very proud of you. This song will touch many lives across the country.

Keep on writing. Love, Mom and Dad

  • thank you to all my brother sister who risk there live each and every for everyone freedom we Love each and everyone of you

  • I wanted to thank you for this video. I will be posting it as a comment to all of my military friends on my myspace page. Thank you!

  • I will remember the dead iraqis and afghanis who fought against the imperialists

  • where are you from?

  • man that made me cry.

Proud daughter and Grand daughter of Veterans!

    GrandFather, Navy Pilot in WWII

Father, Air Force and 2 Tours of Duty in Vietnam.

I love & miss you Daddy!

    Charles Gary Crain - R.I.P.

    1945 - 1991

  • This was excellent! I'd love to see more videos set to this song, videos with still pictures or moving images that pay honor to those who have fallen in our all of our wars. Even though they may only be drawings, there needs to be reminders of those who died in the Revolutionary War also, because of them we have the country that we have. Great job and a great song. Finally a song specifically for the reason of the day!

  • I'm the great-grandaughter of a WW2 Navy Vetern. I know a couple of people who are headed to Iraq come Jan '09 and also have a close friend fighting in Iraq now. I may be sad about this but I'm damn proud of America & its soldiers. God Bless everyone!

  • God Bless You Too! - Proud daughter, and Daughter of a Veteran.

  • Dave, This is one of the best tributes to ALL of our veterans and ones that have laid down their lives for me and my family. I was searching for a song to sing at church and this is it.

  • Very touching. "All gave some. Some gave all." The song and the images are beautifully done.

  • Very, very, nice.

  • EXCELLENT!!!! I have to agree with 1018rockin...We should not only remember the ones that we are losing now, we should also not forget our past and future heros.

  • what a great video,,

you said it a debt that we can never repay to these brave men and woman

thank you to each and every one of you for our freedom ,,

thank you is not enough to say to you

please don't forget about our PROUD MEN AND WOMAN PAST AND PRESENT AND FUTURE,,

THEY ARE OUR TRUE HEROS NOW TODAY AND FOREVER,,

THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN TO YOU ALL

  • very well done

  • As a Veteran who served three tours in Vietnam I want to thank you for this video. I also want to thank the American people for letting me proudly serve you.

  • Thank you Thank You Thank You!!!! BEAUTIFULLY DONE!

  • Those that choose to go into the Military, they made a commitment to keeping the freedom that we as Americans take for granted. We owe these people respect and debt of graditiuade(sp) we can never repay. Thank you Jesus for the give of eternal life!! God bless those who are still fighting, and who "gave all"

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • Everyday should be Memorial Day and it is to us patriotic Americans. We think about and pray for our brave warriors daily. We can't forget the cost of freedom that others have paid. God bless America and her defenders.

  • When Tony Blair was asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America, he said:

"A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in... And how many want out." Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

    1. Jesus Christ

    2. The American G. I.

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

  • Tony Blair never said this. Leaders of 1st world countries (except US)never talk about Jesus when they are speaking in public. And even less would they refer to the military of another country like this. Think about it!

  • if you read it more closley i never said tony blair said anything about jesus crist the quoutes arent around that part think about it!

  • I see that someone is deleting the message where you first told me to look it up, kewlboy. You took it as 'truth' that everywhere leaders of the world go around saying those absurdities. I suppose this msg will be deleted, because as things stand in this country, facts get in the way. You can lose a son in this war, but all you get from people is jingoistic, nonthinking slogans to deal with your grief. My son deserved better than that.

  • well i am sorry about the loss of your son but in that comment you say how your son deserved a better rap then he is given pretty much in my comment i wasnt showing any bad showing towards the soldeirs it was the oppisite...

  • Your ID Name here says it all. Many times people forget that the loss of a loved one serving their country, we all lose someone - our hearts are less full because they are gone, but our memories remain strong. As a Dual Member of the American Legion and an American Legion Rider, my respects and humble gratitude for your loss. If you have a chance "A Pittance Of Time by Terry Kelly" (Canadian) is a moving tribute to the men and woman of the military. God Bless.

  • I agree with you. I am grateful to my father, my 2 great grandfathers, my uncle, my cousin, my nephew, and my husband who served. All of those but one were agnostics or athiests, yet they served so bravely and patriotically. You don't have to believe in God to love America and be a brave soldier.

  • Qui meurt pour le pays vit éternellement.

  • Peace through strength.

    Liberty through sacrifice.

Thanks to all, who have shed their blood for our country.

  • They are the true warrior!

  • god bless ya'all, god bless the usa,my heart goes out to them the greatest valors, who give their lifes to defend our country and the ppl who survived, may they can rest in peace.they'll satand in our heart forever.

  • now i know what memorial day is

  • Thanks... you made my day!

    Dave

  • Now is the time to remember, to realize, that those who die in support of their nation, either, soldier, enemy or victim, do so with the express intent of securing peace for all nations, and it is this effort that the living hold the soul responsibility to actively achieve, through the strength, unity and peaceful change offered by the dawn of this precious tomorrow so costly secured . . .
