there is inspartion in everything you seek and i respect many musicians that touches deep within my soul but i can easily simply classify her as one of the greatest of all time its all in you and what catches your ear what moves you what takes you in another direction and im my opnion she is the greatest no doubt about it and she is true inspration as many musician i listen to but no one has ever grab my soul and attention like her!

don't misunderstand me but I have rarely heard women playing with hiromi's technique, power and soul: lots of technique and no soul or some soul and no tech.

I agree, she's just crazy! In a good way, of course :)

I think part of it might have to do with hand size and general finger strength (men have bigger hands, therefore better reach) but it's not like there aren't tall female pianists out there.

That's right, bassmansteve. I own four of Hiromi's CD's (so far). Spiral is my favorite CD. Every song is a gem. (Well, the Duet album with Chick Corea is absolutely mind-blowing, but half of the credit has to go to Chick.)
