Almost certain he what he's saying is:

"Sugar lift me up, it's my lie."

I think this version definitely illuminates the lyrics as "sugar lick me up" and either "sugar light" or "sugar lied." It no longer sounds like "shoulda" in this version. (At least not to me.)
