Yes! He actually told me The Eagles were getting back together before the Common Threads album was done being made.
He was/is totally cool as far as I am concerned. The first time I met him he said, "I may not be as fast as I used to be, but I am a lot more fun than Don Henley!"
I met him twice. The first time he did 'The Confessor' on acoustic by himself and the next time was just after the video seen here. Great guy. I saw him with The James Gang on the last tour and it was fantastic.
@auralfiend that's so cool. he's my hero on many levels: as a guitar player and a recovering alcoholic as i am both. I've never seen him live but hopefully will sometime
Actually I spoke to him right after this and he was sober as far as I could tell. I think the "Party Time Joe" persona is an act at this point. I think people expect it so he just acts wasted. He may also just be burnt a bit from all those years that it wasn't just an act, but when I talked with him he was sober and intelligent and very funny. Peace.
Wow. "The stooges at Gibson" hits the nail right on the head. This encapsulates all that is wrong with Gibson these days...a lack of attention to detail. I once cut my finger on an improperly installed fret on one of their Les Pauls at a Guitar Center. Gibson coasts on it's name.
I wish he'd have kept his old 58 or 59 Les Paul !

Well, that's good to hear because when I saw him around that time, he was so fucked up he couldn't play! It was embarrassing....

This may be why we mostly see Joe using Fenders and Carvins these days.
