I have an 87 GT with speed density, do I need to change it to mass flow before I make this change? And if so, how? What is the best way to change from SD to MAF? tfrank.sc@gmail.com
@socalRooster it needs a tune bad now lol. I installed 24 lb. injectors in it since this video was mad. I also advanced the cam. I had it retarded. It sounds really good now lol. but for the most part it runs good. It ran an 8.31 on slicks with stock tune and injectors should run high 7s with the cam advanced and bigger injectors and a tune.
we have a similar set up. we got the upper and lower intake off a 95 ford explorer. but we got the motor out of a mustang drag car and changed it from carbureted to fuel injected. all we know is that it has a cam. but we dynoed it and it has 430hp with 389foot pounds of torque. how much power are u making?
its an explorer gt40 intake. The early explorer 5.0 intakes are exactly the same as the 93 cobra intakes and the gt 40 tubular intakes. they all flow pretty much the same. Its just a cast version of the tubular version. The later model intakes dont flow as well. This one came off a 97. I believe the last year of the good intakes was like 99. I may be wrong. they switched to external egr where the older versions where internal.
@narutofanz4 thanks man. lol It just looks good on the cam lol. Its getting there. it needs a paint job and a few odds and ends but its a work in progress. Im bout to start working on building my big motor now. its a 408w with cleveland 4v heads. Im goin to run a trickflow intake now that they make them for the cleveland head swap.
@nocki5oh well I ran an 8.30 in the 1/8 spinning on the slicks but the track I was at they say the times are a little off so it prolly woulda ran like an 8.20 or better at a better track so its prolly like 12s in the quarter. Thats with stock injectors and a stock tune. the car really needs atleast some 24 lb. injectors id love to put some 30s in it though.
is it recommended to retard the f303 like that? I just got a f303 cam and im trying to figure out whats the best way to run it

Can you make more videos of it driving? How is the idle quality? Why did you retard the cam 8°?

@ss35183 that gt-40 intake manifold looks like cobra intake? Are they? I only ask because my build is recommended to use gt-40 manifolds. Thanks
