Craig is the classic case of someone denying himself of his true nature til much later in life. There are guys in their 40`s finally who has had enough and come out of the closet. I went through what Craig went through and decided to come out of the closet at 27.
@SouNam66 Hmm, I honestly don't think Craig's been denying himself of his "true nature" (whatever that means). He's always liked girls--still does. But he loves John Paul. Craig tried to explained this numerous times after he and JP were openly together. You may have always known that you were gay (or bi) years before you came out like John Paul, but until recently, Craig never thought he could fall in love with another guy--never had a reason to. So I wouldn't exactly call him "closeted".
@patroclus33 if you watch the story line from the beginning Craig's near-hysteria makes more sense. He's a moody character, almost manic-depressive, raised in a homophobic family. (I do believe that James is the better actor.)
Man I miss James as John Paul...he was BRILLIANT in that role..I never got a feel for him on ED. ED truly did not utilize his acting abilities like they could have..hopefully when James leaves ED he and Guy will make a special appearance on Hollyoaks!!!!!!!

I know that this is unpopular but i feel as though Craig is defiantly at lest bisexual if not gay. i have heard people say that he is just John Paul sexual but i think the fact that he find JP(who is a male) sexually attractive then makes him at least Bi. I love watching this. I love how each answer brings Craig one step closer to John Paul. A different answer to any of those questions could have made everything different.
I don't think he's gay either, or that he went there expecting anything to happen, and I agree that if JP hadn't come out (at least to Craig) then nothing (probably) would have happened.
But forcing himself to kiss him to get their closeness back - no.
1) The writers/producers/etc. of HO have stated that Craig is sexually attracted to JP. Big clue. ;)
2) Given Craig's upbringing and attitude toward gays, there's no way he would have done something like that unless incredibly tempted.
3) A lot of people have suggested that Craigs actions here or there are calculated ploys, but the truth is they dont really understand the character. Most of the time, hes nowhere near that rational; indeed, his biggest problem throughout much of this storyline is that hes rash and impulsive and jumpy and DOESNT think things through before he acts.

@mandrsol This is permanently in my favorites list. It really was one of the best sequences of acting I've ever seen. I thought John Paul's coming out to Craig was the best thing since Godiva White Chocolate Raspberry Ice Cream....but somehow...SOMEHOW!...Craig managed to top him. ^_^

@VariahR Actually - since we've started down this road - JP is the one that is much more aggressive - if you go back to the beginning - which I have now done (watched the WHOLE thing through again) - he's the one who stands up to the bullies, defends Craig multiple times, and fights back, even against Craig. Remember when Craig says "you're my hero" to JP? Loved that, BTW!
@mandrsol Most of the fans agree that JP likes to assume the protective role, hence why he saved Craig so many times :P James said in a gay magazine once that in his opinion JP would be the one doing all the pounding...haha. I think they switched roles though :P
I've seen the McDean storyline so many times I've lost count (lol) but this line always sticks with me when I watch this part:

I´m pretty sure he meant didn´t feel wrong that Spike was a guy. He wanted to know JP´s view on gay sex, cos he himself wanted to know. I think Craig was thinking of shagging JP a lot those days.
Hmmmm, I thought about this one a lot after you posted. I think he probably asked the question, "Didn't it feel wrong?" from the point of view of "Didn't it feel wrong that it wasn't with me." If it wasn't such an emotional moment and Craig wasn't pouring out his feelings, it would probably have been related to the same sex nature or the sex.
I think the beauty of the scene is that I'm not entirely sure of either. But, yeah I lean more towards the "because it wasn't with me" explanation. Like I said though, it seems like both answers are possible, in their own ways. I love that people are actually replying.. I was really curious as to what others thought hehe.
I quite like JP and Spike kisses, they are far less weird to watch than a JPK kiss *shrugs* But the BEST ones are shared between JP and Craig of course!! They can be tender and also passionate.

There might be tension...but it's not forced or unnatural tension. It's more like "I want you so bad I can hardly breathe" tension. It has more true emotion in it than Spike's kisses.

It's sad that their first time together had to end so terribly. Those initial memories are hard to be rid of. I don't reckon that Craig was better than Spike in bed. But...it usually doesn't matter when you're in love. And JP is def in love with Craig.
About 2:06, Craig's face is amazing after John Paul says, "Craig, mates don't get jealous of boyfriends," and Craig does this thing with his eyebrows that is just too adorable for words.
It's as if his face is saying, Me, jealous? Guy is just so good at making facial expressions become words and emotions.

@VariahR Actually - since we've started down this road - JP is the one that is much more aggressive - if you go back to the beginning - which I have now done (watched the WHOLE thing through again) - he's the one who stands up to the bullies, defends Craig multiple times, and fights back, even against Craig. Remember when Craig says "you're my hero" to JP? Loved that, BTW!

@mandrsol Most of the fans agree that JP likes to assume the protective role, hence why he saved Craig so many times :P James said in a gay magazine once that in his opinion JP would be the one doing all the pounding...haha. I think they switched roles though :P

Okay, I feel like bringing something up here.
I've seen the McDean storyline so many times I've lost count (lol) but this line always sticks with me when I watch this part:
Around 3:26 when Craig asks "Didn't it feel wrong?" (About John Paul and Spike having sex).
I always wonder, does he mean (and I think both are possible) Didn't it feel wrong that Spike is a guy, or Didn't it feel wrong that it was Spike and not himself (Craig)?
Anyway, let me know your thoughts on this:)

Hmmmm, I thought about this one a lot after you posted. I think he probably asked the question, "Didn't it feel wrong?" from the point of view of "Didn't it feel wrong that it wasn't with me." If it wasn't such an emotional moment and Craig wasn't pouring out his feelings, it would probably have been related to the same sex nature or the sex.

I think the beauty of the scene is that I'm not entirely sure of either. But, yeah I lean more towards the "because it wasn't with me" explanation. Like I said though, it seems like both answers are possible, in their own ways. I love that people are actually replying.. I was really curious as to what others thought hehe.

I quite like JP and Spike kisses, they are far less weird to watch than a JPK kiss *shrugs* But the BEST ones are shared between JP and Craig of course!! They can be tender and also passionate.

There might be tension...but it's not forced or unnatural tension. It's more like "I want you so bad I can hardly breathe" tension. It has more true emotion in it than Spike's kisses.
