It's interesting how the gate "rears back" before dropping.

It depends from place to place. In some places it´s just on the right side, and sometimes on both sides. If there is a X crossing just next to the level crossing, then there can be white light to all directions. And someplaces dont have the white light at all...

And yes, it´s quite curious, it´s somekind of locking divese...

Yes! It´s owned by a rabbit hunter who came by it there, came out of the car and came to me to wonder what i was doing there. If you look carefully, you will see 2 shadows, when the camera turns. 1 that´s mine, and the other is the hunter. He was very curious about the fact that someone can be interested about filming trains and i said to him the same about being interested about shooting rabbits, and then we both had a good laugh! )D

Idag när jag var vid en övergång så stog bommarna nere i säkert 5 minuter efteråt att tåget ha kommit. Och sedan fälldes dom upp. Sen direkt när det vart vitt sken börja ljudsignal och ljussignal att Ljuda/blinka och bommarna fälldes ner igen. Mkt konstigt. Det kom ett till tåg så opassande att folk inte ens ska hinna över. Detta var i Söderhamn.
